Can we stop for a second and admire how good this movie actually looks? I think it has aged really well, and the whole set design and character design is really great!
that is because 3D animation is not that good at making shapes that stretch and bend a lot(like human bodies) but is great at rendering mechanical parts that have static shapes and bend and move along set joints(which is a lot more difficult and time-consuming in 2d drawn animation), so they can just go ham on the little mechanical details that give it so much character. 3D is also great at metalic and/or reflective surfaces. the whole movie plays incredibly to the strengths of 3d animation.

I mean, I knew the Beakfast joke was coming, but it fit too well with the little robots face
finally, we get a summary of rowboats, just what i always wanted
"The distinct lack of clacking sounds" of robots is kind of an issue in all robot related sci-fi cartoons.
Even Futurama, whenever Bender claps his hands, it makes flesh clapping noises like a human instead of metal clanks.
But in that episode where Bender hugged a gold version of himself, it made metal-clanging sounds. Explain that.
@@edloki3057 One episode vs. many episodes.
Your math doesn't add up to make a point.
@@freedantheeternal I just wanna know what is canon for Futurama. Fleshy sounds or metal sounds for robot hands.
@@edloki3057 I just know in the audio commentary for the "Iron Cook" episode, when Bender claps at the end of the episode, one of the voice actors points it out, and David Cohen, the voice director/lead writer, quickly changes the subject.
4:35 so sad that no one talks about this reference. I was thinking this refers to something already. Just when the screen is changing i saw it.
The Fanny fart had me in fits of hysterical laughter as a kid, definitely one of my favorite back seat movies to watch to drown out my parents divorce as a child 😂
I love how this movie is getting popular again. I remember replaying this movie over and over while I was a kid.
Watching robots is like watching an irl person realizing Iphones are trash 4:12
True.
14:14 the name of the shop in the bottom left is called GUZZLER’S
11:29 no way he didn't say dump truck
I will say that this is one of the best 2000s movies based on the quality of the CGI. The metal aesthetics work very well with what would now be considered old software.
As someone who was 5 years old and rewatched this movie about 200+ times, this was honestly a funny recap.
2:33 make an impact-
That's the font's name
4:20 this whole sequence is glorious
13:08 No, that's not an inconsistency. it takes longer for metal to magnetize the more of it there is. and also non magnetic metals completely insolate magnetism (you're too high, high guy)
Thanks for improving one of my favorite childhood movies
The mechanisms that you mention transfer kinetic energy between itself is called a Rube Goldberg machine
Ngl, a 'Pacific Rim explained by an idiot' would be pretty lit
