The side by side make tour look like a beta test of the wii u port, the tracks look beautiful this time arround
I really don't like how bright they made the courses. I'm not sure if that counts as beautiful.
Compared to wace one, Nintendo really stepped up their game, the graphics between these tracks and tour vs how they were in wave 1 is a night and day difference

Even Coconut mall looks horrible because idk why but the lights on Wave 1 are so weird and you can see It on the minerals into the cave of choco mountain or the Windows on coconut mall

Woah, there’s a HUGE difference with DK mountain. Tour looks so empty next to 8 deluxe 💀 AND ROSALINAS ICE WORLD IS BACK LETS GO
I love how they gave the core at the observatory that plasma effect and gleam to make it look closer to how it looked in Galaxy, rather than just keeping it as just a yellow glowy ball
And looks magical with that very spacey colorful skybox

Sadly 3DS Rosalina's Ice World replaces Tour Piranha Plant Pipeline.

Bowser’s castle looks like a base game track straight up! So hyped for this wave.
The SNES course had the biggest glow up out of any retro track that’s ever been made even compared to the tour version.
I rlly hope they had these beautiful graphics to the other wave tracks too (especially waves 1 and 2)

So, in the entire game, Mario Kart Wii has had 11 of it's 16 Nitro Courses. it also has an additional 4 of it's Retro courses. a LOT of love for Mario Kart Wii in this game.

I think I’m just salty that wii got 2 extra tracks (moonview highway and daisy circuit) over a game that was lacking in representation, like ds, which had plenty of great tracks left, same with GameCube
I know we’re all hype about wave 6, but can we talk about how they added back the DK on the DK cannon?
Something I noticed about madrid drive Is that the laps here are weird
We can see MD3 having a row of item boxes but they only have 1, meaning it may start with MD3
And then later we see them gliding in MD2 but they are going in reverse interesting as all of us thought it's rout will be like in tour
So I believe the route of Madrid is
Lap 1: MD3
Lap 2: MD1
Lap 3: MD2R
Nintendo has REALLY improved with the updated graphics of the last wave’s courses as compared to the first two waves, especially for DK Mountain, Piranha Plant Cove, Daisy Circuit, Rosalina’s Ice World, and MKWii’s Rainbow Road!
If only Rock Rock Mountain and Koopa Cape looked like DK Mountain, with the grey, rocky textured mountains.
Koopa Cape literally looks better than Rock Rock Mountain there.
The city courses are ok as expected
Wii Daisy Circuit, GCN DK Mountain and 3DS Rosalina's Ice World received the usual BCP glow up and look nice
SNES Bowser Castle 3 and Piranha Plant Cove look amazing (the latter being my most anticipated course from this wave)
Wii Rainbow Road, although I still prefer the visuals from the original track, I'm glad they chose more pastel colors than the vibrant color they used in Tour
The colisseum in Rome looks so much better now that it actually has brick textures

I love how they made the Road in RR Wii way more saturated as it was in Wii. Tour's was so dark and a more I guess Uniformed(?) Rainbow pattern while 8DX's, with the addition of tiles that's a common them on modern rainbow roads, having the colors not follow a pattern, just a beautiful strip of colors that sorta organically follow you
Wish they update the graphics on some courses from other waves

It's because it's so obvious that they're ripping things from Tour, so everyone is now comparing them to that.
Wasn't expecting Rosalinas Ice world at all, but i love the surprice, tho i really would have liked pirahna plant pipeline (mostly to hear the banger music it has in 8)
Makes me hope they updated the texture for the earlier waves.
I hope you mean the first two. Waves 3 onwards all have the same amount of graphical revamp, with the only exception being Rock Rock Mountain (and even then it’s not as bad as Wave 1)
I would spare Mushroom Gorge and Kalimari Desert though, those have the most polished visuals of Wave 2.
Still can't believe wave 6 releases on my birthday
The interesting bit is, this is all the same geometry. What makes the changes are shaders and better lighting. It is interesting to watch how much effect that has overall with the perception of it
So you hate that DLC, huh? Only people who hate that DLC and deem it “lazy” uses “geometry” instead of “(polygonal) models”.
My favorites are Wii Rainbow Road, Rosalina's Ice World, and SNES Bowser's Castle.

As always good textures and lighting but the simple geometry from Tour is still very much intact.
Really glad that Nintendo is finally pushing the graphics for these courses. Wave 6 may be if not, the best wave we ever got!

These videos are well-edited and comprehensive but why do you put the newer versions of the courses on the left? Typically comparisons are ordered as 'Before -> After' so MK8D should be on the right, yeah?

Actually you are both wrong it's been almost 7 years since this version of Mario Kart 8 came out next year Mario Kart 8 will be 10 years old and Mario Kart 8 Deluxe will be 7 years old so both 2014 and 2017 are old years.

I will say that the sparkly track for the Tour version of Wii Rainbow Road looks more visually appealing than the boring reflective squares on the Switch version
However, the Switch versions of the tracks are overall superior

I think the art style is better then Q or Q2 but worse then the original games. Except for Morgana. Morgana's chibi versions always look better

I’m kinda disappointed with how many TOUR tracks they added to this Booster Pass. Some are good others are meh but happy they are adding characters, mii suits, and a jukebox!

They should have clearly added the original tour nitro that got scrapped which is totally not unnescesary and dumb to add instead of my favourite traffic track yes.
The main point of the dlc is to preserve all the tracks in tour. That includes the city tracks

Tour could look better than Mario Kart 8 Deluxe ever did even better than the base tracks. Maybe because the BCP is pretty much a port of Tour minus the character costumes and karts?
It just seems like a waste of slots that could be used to remake old classic courses instead of just lazily porting the ones that don’t take any work

Because Tour is gonna shut down one day.
I wish we got shy guy's bazaar instead of RIW, we already have WAY too much snow courses.
I think only Wii Rainbow Road looks better in tour, personally. However The tracks look amazing though, and I'm glad they didn't cut corners on graphics this time!
They look better than tour. Still those new tracks, specially wave 1, look such a downgrade from the original ones. You look at Cloudtop cruise, dragon driftway and wild woods that looks crazy beautiful and than those new tracks look so underwhelming. Like, its really good content for the price, but none of them really hit like the original ones. Maybe for nostalgic fans of old mks their favorite track is now on the game, but I think is just fine.
