  • Welcome to the review of the Christenson Fish which I have been riding as 5'6 x 21 x 2 7/16 - 32.4L.
    We also check out the Christenson Twin Keel Fins - if you would like to buy a set, please use our link to let FCS know that independent surfboard reviews help support your decision making - bit.ly/3eEOvP2
    Over the last few years the Christenson Fish is one of the most requested reviews I have had, and seeming there was only limited reviews online about the board, I thought it best to check it out!
    From www.onboardstore.com.au
    Still probably the most versatile design of all surfboard craft. If you were stranded on an island for the next 10 years and were only allowed one board this would be my recommendation. Tested from Cardiff Reef to Ulu Watu, Waikiki to Pipe, this is a very trustworthy design. Double foil fins with low cant and toe complimented by the twin pin tail allow this board to reach high speeds and insure hold whenever on the rail.
    I rode a few different fins in the Christenson Fish, but primarily the FCS Christenson Keel fin.
    From www.surffcs.com.au/collections/keels
    New keel template we've worked on with Chris Christenson that compliments both function & aesthetic.
    Overview
    Designed with plenty of curve in the leading and trailing edge to provide smooth rail to rail transitions. A thicker, flat foil provides grip through big turns and open face waves.
    Board Types
    Designed to fit the FCS II Fin System.
    Recommended for all board types including fish, funboard and twin fin boards.
    Thanks for checking out the review - and let us know your thoughts below in the comments, and be sure to check out our instagram also @thesurfboardguide so you're always across our reviews and boards that are coming up!

    Have a 5’6 with 6oz glass. Fantastic board, confidence in bigger waves (not too skatey) , with speed, and is easy to rail. Big fan.

      You’d be suprised - I don’t think you’d need that much foam. You’d weigh less than me, and I think this would glide well due to its wide outline ✌️

    Hi Craig, I’ve a CC Fish but used just once in crappy condition, felt ok.
    I will go to indo next week and I would like to take just one board as I will also travel a lot and just want to keep it comfy.
    Do you think this board can handle also some barrel-y conditions?

    Hi Greg, Do you think the CC fish 5'6 would be too much board for a 50 years old intermediate long boarder? I'm 5'8, 145 lbs + 4/3 wetsuit, in decent shape but have never surfed anything shorter that 7'6 before. Thank you!

    • @TheSurfboardGuide
      @TheSurfboardGuide  Год назад +2

      Too much board? No! More so it will be too little board based on what you’re use to.
      There might be a board to help bridge the gap for you jumping between these two.
      You’re likely capable, and the numbers of weight to volume stack up, it’s just cutting 2ft of board off what you’re used to might be tough…

    I’m 5’8 and 12 stone mostly muscle 💪🏻. I’ve been after a board with more volume . A fish or hybrid but I really like the Christenson . Any recommendations as to what size? I’m kinda mid intermediate but been out of the water to long . I was thinking going for the 5’6??
    Any suggestions?

    • @TheSurfboardGuide
      @TheSurfboardGuide  2 года назад

      Hey! Do you have a shortboard volume you’re confident with? If so, try just come a tad above that if you can. You want to keep the fish as short as possible, but make sure you have the float/paddle power you require ✌️

      Thats a tough one, I rode the Astro Zombie a few years back.
      Both very similar being fish/twin keels, but I don't think the Astro Zombie has the versatility of the CC Fish - The Astro Zombie was amazing, but much fuller and I don't think would surf as well in 4ft+ waves like the CC Fish...
