- Chris Christenson says that if he was stuck on a desert island and could only have one board, it would be one of these fishes.
More versatile than the average fish, the Christenson Fish works well in decent swell and small summer waves.

I bought this used on Facebook 5’4. I’m 5’9” 170lbs and find that this board rips but is somewhat challenging to paddle. Would the 5’6” work better? Is it supposed to paddle into waves easier?
Longer board length + increased foam will always help with the paddling for sure! Give us a shout if we can help further on our Instagram, or call us on 01736 757025
Hi, congrats for the video, really useful. I'm wondering what size I would need, either 5,6 or 5.8...I am 30 yrs old, surfing since 16, 6ft and 160lbs. I am normally using a 5.11 * 19 * 2 3/8 29,5lt shortboard or a 5.4 groveler with 31lt. I normally surf in the Mediterrrenean and i go a surftrip 2/3 times per year (indo/europe). Many thanks :)
You basically take 4 to 6 inches off your regular shortboard lenght and you should arrive at your ideal fish lenght. For you I'd say the 5'6 fits.
Hey mate,
Thanks for the review! I have just notice the significant channels at the back area.. Are they all like that or is it a custom board?
Cheers great video!
Hi, how does this compare to the Chilli Sugar or the Lost California Twin? I'm actually looking for something for crappy, mushy Northern European waves with 4-6s period.
Hi,
how does Chris Christenson's Fish compare to Jim Banks Magic Carpet?
From what it looks the tail is wider and the rails are not as sharp as the rails on the Magic Carpet?
Thanks for the great reviews!
Both great boards and both really blend that fish glide with modern performance. The Christenson fish is wider and I would say that it provides more of that classic Californian fish feel off your front foot. Howvever it still holds a rail really well and perfoms in the pocket. The Magic Carpet does feature a more pulled in tail and more folied rails, this coupled with the FLV bottom gives you tonnes of control, it generates speed really well but then allows you to harness all of that speed and offers more hold in a steeper or bigger wave. Both amazing boards and both would work well in anything from waist high to overhead waves, but each board will give you a different feel.
Please share video of it in action with the explanation
hi , do you have fin recommendations for fcs2 plugs in the christenson fish ?
The modern keel and signature Machado keels would be a good choice, you can also get the captain fin co christenson fins in FCS 1 which would still work. Cheers
What is the rocker measurements on this?
Hi, I'm wondering what size I would need for my level of surfing and length. I'm 6ft and 160 lbs, average surfer age 23 (surfing since 15). I'll go a surftrip once or twice a year to france or portugal and surf the belgian stormy, mushy waves we have here during autumn and winter. Greetz
Hi Emile, I would say from what you've said something like the 5'8 would give you enough float to make the most of the weaker conditions you get at home without being too big and cumbersome for the waves in France and Portugal. What boards are you currently riding?
How does this compares to DHD Mini Twin?
Hey mate, both great models. I would say that the main difference would be the outline, the Christenson fish has more traditional outline and carries more foam than the DHD. Both offer high levels of performance and speed!
Mat 6 👍🏼
@Mathieu Revel Good feedback thanks.
How does this compare to the GoFish?
They're both great boards and they both blend the traditional keel fin fish shape with modern performance. I would say the major differences are in the construction and the volume. the Christenson fish definitely carries more volume for its size and is PU construction where as the Go Fish is in LFT from firewire (epoxy). There are various design differences, but if your after a performance fish then both are solid options!
CC Fish shaped by a surfboard shaper, Go Fish shaped in an Asian factory by people who've likely never seen the ocean.
