howdy. great video, Thanks! A couple pieces are listed in the installation and maintenance guide but do not see them mentioned in your video. how should the tail piece O-ring and Locking Ring sit within the Stop Coupling? O ring I would assume fits right inside the Stop Coupling against the Control Stop...unsure on the Locking Ring.
Thank you, we're glad that you found it helpful! It has been a little while since we filmed this so I'm just going from memory. There should be a small ridge that the o-ring sits against. The locking ring will be on the other side of the ridge. I think the idea is that the locking ring needs something to press against to help the coupler to "lock" into place. Hope this helps!
Hey, thanks for this video. if the measurement from the center of the flush valve to the cut off is not long enough with the provided pipe how do you adjust that pipe to extend it by quarter inch or half an inch or whatever is required. It appears that that pipe is actually soldered or maybe welded on to the flush valve. I’m sure that is not the case.
Thanks for watching. In most cases the tail piece can removed and there are various lengths available. You'll be looking for a H551A - Adjustable Tailpiece.
Hey, do you by any chance have any tips on how to install a bidet seat on the flashometer toilet? Basically - what kind of parts could help getting into the water supply needed for the bidet seat?
Thanks for watching. There are many tutorials out there showing how to install bidets. The steps will be the same but for flushometers you can't connect to the large 1" supply line. You'll have to connect a T to the water supply at the sink, and run a line to the toilet.
Thanks for watching. There is nowhere to attach the bidet to a flushometer. To make it work, you would have to install a tee in the pipe to the flushometer and connect the bidet to it with a shutoff valve. It might be easier to connect the bidet to the sink's cold water supply.
Thanks for watching. It is possible to install it on the toilet, however you would need a supply of water to the bidet. The easiest would be to connect to the sink by installing a T shutoff valve. You can run a flexible line to the toilet.
@@HarryPatel-xq2qg Then it's best to install a new vacuum breaker. This will come with a new washer. As well it can be good to clean the threads and any surface that makes contact with the vacuum breaker, this will ensure that there is a good seal.
Nice, interesting informative videoclip. I've wondered why some flushometer valves are shorter, others are medium "altitude" & still others contain much more "altitude", yet those of the same "altitude" whether short, medium or tall may have the same capacity of gallons per flush.
Thanks for watching. The capacity comes from how long the valve stays open. This is is a timing issue not an issue of how large the valve is. This video on diaphragm will explain this in more detail: ruclips.net/video/IhBA-AZBXGc/видео.html
Thanks for watching. We haven't got a video showing this exact repair but if you search for "How to Replace a Closet Spud and a Spud Coupling" you should be able to see how to install a new one. www.amresupply.com/catalog/Spuds-Spud-Washers-PF7A
Thanks for watching. It depends on the building but to install a new flushometer, you'll likely have to turn off a main water valve to that room or to that entire floor.
Thanks for watching. Except for the control stop inlet, Sloan does not recommend that any thread sealant or plumbing grease to be used on any fitting or component. This is referenced in the instruction manual. All the other fittings either use a gasket or a washer.
Thanks for watching. To clarify, the copper pipe is 1 inch shorter, and the "cover tube" is 1-1/2" shorter. The adapter on the copper pipe will be screwed into the control stop and will be about 1/2" deep.
Thanks for watching. The copper pipe size will bet different for water closets and urinals. For urinals it will generally be 0.75 inches. For water closets it is usually 1.5 inches. You can see this listed on the specs on each model: www.amresupply.com/catalog/Flushometers-Flushvalves-PF9
For these videos we used a 1" diameter pipe. Generally for water closets, 1" is used and 3/4" is used for urinals. You'll see some models listed as 1" inch or 3/4" in addition to being listed as WC or water closet and UR as urinal.
Thanks for watching. We don't have a video showing any installation with pex hose. Using pex will require an adapter but check your local codes as it might have some specific requirements or restrictions.
You neeed Teflon tape On the adapter fitting…. And most of the times you have to cut the vertical piece, it never fits in place like that lol usually to long
Thank you for sharing your thoughts. We are currently working on our appliance series before we update older videos like this. There are a few points that would be good to clarify and that includes the use of teflon tape and the distinction between the connections that do and do not use an o-ring.

sir what kind of bowl to be use?
Thanks for watching. Any commercial bowl can be used as long as you match the flush rate so the bowl and flushometer have the same gpf.
Can pex be used with a sloan toilet valve?
Thanks for watching. It is difficult to get enough pressure and an adequate flow rate by using PEX so it isn't normally recommended.

You said minimum of 2 1/4" away from the wall, but it can be more right? Because it looked to be about 5 1/2" in the video.
Yes, the minimum distance is to give enough clearance to the flushometer itself, so you can exceed the 2-1/4".
