Hello, I've been struggling to fix our toilet which hasn't been flushing correctly. It is Sloan hydraulic button flush 952, 1.6. When you press the button to flush, it gives out water and starts to flush but doesn't complete it all the way by draining all the water. Pressing the flush button second time it does the job, strong flush that drains the water all the way. It used to flush it all and drain after just one touch of the button. Any thoughts of what it could be? I changed almost every part by now. Thanks!
I used to use silicone grease on the nipple o ring but stopped doing that. I now make sure that the inside surface of the stop valve is clean and smooth. A little water on the o ring seems to work best. Also knipex smooth jaw pliers work great.
Dude I was replacing a spud on an American Standard this mourning. Only my second one. First time went ok. Today I kept forgetting the trim peace. And the first time put the top nut on the bottom couldn't figure out why trim was not fitting. After my co worker pointed out my mistake It went together no problem.
Another trick if you have one that won't stop flushing is to choke down on the water stop until you hear the flushometer starving for water. This will usually make one stop flushing. If not check diaphragm for trash, etc. I've had little pieces if Teflon stop a diaphragm from seating.
Mike, it's my understanding that you need a 3/4-inch ware supply for a Flushometer to work. My water meter is 5/8". It I run a 3/4" pipe from the 5/8" water meter should it or will it work, in your opinion?
As a deviant little kid, I would bring a small screwdriver in my pocket when dad would take me and my best friend to the local White Castle hamburgers. I had figured out if I cranked open that uncapped valves on the two urinals, the water would fly out the bottom when flushed. Besides getting some poor SOB’s pants wet, the water would make its way into the dining area occasionally. My friend and I though it was hysterical. BTW that friend is now a retired plumber. 😂
Yes generally unless they get pitted just change the parts! Thanks again for the videos. 🍺🍺🍺🥃🥃🎯🏌🏻♀️ Stay safe. Retired (werk'n)keyboard super tech. Wear your safety glasses.
Was just in Las Vegas last week. Every public toilet flush valve had a nut lock on it. Apparently people have been stealing flush valves for brass scrap value.
@@PipeDoctor Lets go Bosch? PS: Thanks Mikey I Love that shirt and the 3x fits my fat self! I never seen these used in a residence but all over public restrooms though.
"wrap it with blue monster" PTFE tape, of a far higher density. which used to be allowed for gas lines, until cheap/knockoff/chinesium made it all useless

You need a smooth jaw wrench. I always put a little lube on the washer going into the Sloan valve. Good job!

REGULAR PLUMBERS GREASE,I have literally done thousands of these, and only ude straight up plumbers grease from Hercules!
Good thing Peter Pan caught your “oops” lol
Maybe I missed it but I didn’t see you put the paper/fiber washer on top of the vacuum breaker? Probably why it leaked at the nut.

Must be one of those 'Taj Mahal' houses. A Flushometer AND a Bidet? WOW!

What's the deal with these flushometers? I've never seen one in a house, but they seem to be common in your area. Are they really nice or something?
If someone really wants a powerful turd crusher, you can by toilets woth pressure vessels that flush amazingly well off a 3/8 supply!
Can we get Peter's hands on some tools please?
You didn't show the cardboard washer that goes on top of the vacuum breaker
Originally I was thinking this was in a house because there was a bidet in the first part.
These seems to ne rare around here. Are they commun to residential around your area vs just industrial?
Common in around the NYC/ Long Island area in older homes/ apartments
All over east long island
it's for people who take massive dumps that a regular toilet can't handle
I love the video
just check your upc, or ipc code book
I change these all the times
Is that a residence? Never seen these outside of a commercial setting. Pretty cool .
👍
Knipex Pliers wrench. You’ll toss your crescents. Thank me later
Man I’d like one of those toilets in my house. You can flush a bag of coke down those!
Or an M-80.
Why not repair? Looks new just a diaphragm and vacuum breaker all good to go.
