Neat build, I think turf wars will always leave monsters with 1 health if they're close to dead. I managed to clutch claw Shara Ishvalda for the kill screen once, was pretty exciting :D
Mr @thegameconomist , you my good sir, have answered my unasked question. This would be my build come January. Wyvern ammo is my best playstyle (single hit heavy blast) , but total ammo was a problem, but with this, it's like having infinite Wyvern ammo.
Would highly recommend the black diablos HBG for this strat. not only has it got more augment slots and is easier to augment and the affinity can be easily negated with 2 affinity augments and one crit eye or just agitator at lv1 but is a lot safer saying you can fit and get health augmentation easier than a rank 12 weapon and you heal A LOT. Add recovery up instead of Artillery and you heal 1/2 of your HP a hit. Also did i mention it supports non-elemental having no elemental ammo. 5% extra damage anyone?
Ragegamings cotton recommends the black devil gun. When he did this months ago. I'm trying out topped out zorah gun to see if I cant get even bigger numbers (it has higher base before food buffs). I can drop low rank beasties in seconds. Like 3-4 shots low rank rathians.

TheGameconomist just a heads up, monsters can't die from monsters outside of scripted events. They will take 1 dmg short of killing them and no damage from more monster attacks after that point, meaning so much as flinging a rock at them will kill them.
Wow. I was running a build similar to this when I was going thru the game but with Legiana HBG and not much damage skills. Clutch Claw is insane on WyvernSnipe HBGs. I didn't think it could be used as an actual build
Monsters can't be killed in turf wars, but they do essentially have 1 hp if it would kill them, hence the Clutch Kill. Also you might consider dropping earplugs since you have Rocksteady and Temporal mantles. Build is super cool.
Last time I checked, monsters can't die to monster attacks (except maybe poison...) So that turf war brought Brachydios to 1hp before you hit it with the claw
Thanks for the build its crazy. Nicely done :) I usually do not play bowguns on mhw because of the big difference in builds and set ups; however, with this build I feel confident that a bowgun noob like me will not suck at :p
Just so you're aware, they made it to where the monsters cannot die to your palico, to enviromentals, or to turf wars when iceborne dropped. There's been some testing, and the last hit has to come from an actual hunter. He was below 30% when you saw him limp, after the turf war he took 2k damage which should have killed him. You got the last hit, and that's what the game considered the killing blow. GG and good work. (Note: I've seen darkside kill a tempered odogaron with a savage deviljho, I'm not sure if they were the ones who actually killed it or not though. I could be wrong but in a lot of instances, this general rule seems to hold true.)
For the record, large monsters can't die in Turf Wars or in any other monster-on-monster fighting. At most they are reduced to 1 HP at which point they simply won't die until a hunter deals any damage to them, and THEN they'll drop dead.
Theres no skill to avoid getting knocked off from a monster's heavy attack. Flinch resist however will prevent you from getting knocked off from weaker hits.
You said that HBG clutch attack changes with its ULT varient . Does it mean its considered ult as well? What I mean is does speciall ammo boost work on clutch attack?
Turf Wars cannot kill monsters btw. That means that if you want to kill a monster in a funny way, be that slinger, clutchclaw or just kicking it, luring it into a turf war once it's nearly dead is the way to go.

Fun and creative build! Though I would say that this build is very dependent on mantles and which monster you are currently facing. I would say Brachydios was not a good example to show a "bad matchup" because he has only one or two attacks that can knock you off of a tail clutch, which makes clutching onto his tail very safe. If you want to test this on an actual difficult match-up, either try this against Lunastra, Tigrex, Barioth, or Kirin. These monsters have a lot of moves that knock you off when clutched, no matter where. Would be nice to see if that is viable too.
You ever want a MH video while playing & try to pickup their shiny drops even if the hunts are completely different? I did on different hunts this while hunting Kirin & then Teo at least twice @_@ *Great Vid as always! Was curious about this viability myself so thanks for testing it. XD
@@th3negotiator119 you can't flinch shot or claw slap an enraged monster, but you can always grab on to them and do the clutch claw attack. The only time when you can't grab on to them is when they're going underground.

Hey! 😁 I'm confused about you build... on 2:39. On your mantles, 🤔 it shows you got 4 tool's specialist. 😲 but if you look at the right side on the skill section it says that you only have 2 points of tool specialist. 🤔 How is that???😵
It's because he can only every have a max of 2 levels at a time unless he put on both mantles at once, while wearing a mantle he gets 2 tool specialist not 4
I wonder if a Claw Build can be made viable with something like a Bow that drops slinger ammo for more consistent wall hits. I picture the damage would be too low on the Claw Hits.
I've actually had a Deviljho kill a Dodogama for me. Picked him up, carried him to the next area, slammed him and mission complete lol. Only time that's ever happened.
Honestly I think Special Ammo boost would add more damage to this set up. Since you’re not really ever using regular ammo, if you added the Wyvern Snipe mod, you’d be doing like 1000+ on the weakened parts you’re creating

I am at the Guiding Lands, considered myself an intermediate veteran of the game.. and this is the first time I saw that you can destroy those baubles on the ground to get crystalburst. I'm a disgrace.
Back in MHF G rank you rarely start in the camp , always somewhere in the middle of nowhere. Sometimes in a secret area that allowed you to harvest rare materials. Also the supply delivery was random sometimes you got supplies delivered to your chest, sometimes not at all.
I made this build yesterday (almost...still need to get that second health augment). I don’t have any critical/whatever jewels, so I went for the Shara gloves for the non-velkana piece Overall, I’m finding it kind of boring as a thing to main. But it is a really fun way to change things up...or deal with flying shit Also the wyvernsnipe mod gives you an absolutely amazing wake up option so I do that along with my 4 close ranges
Monsters CAN die in Turf Wars. I've had an Anjanath die after Rathalos dropped him in the Ancient Forest. I've also had the Tobi Kadachi I was trying to capture die when Deviljho tried to use it to smack me upside the head.
it actually ocurred to me, i was in a quest where you must capture a barroth, he did a total of 3 turf war (2 with juratodus a 1 diablos) and died in the 3rd, wasnt even mad that i lost the quest it was too funny

I do that with hh getting almost the same dmg + buffs for teammates, works really well too, velkhana hh rocks for it. Nice ending btw

Yes, I think Deviljho's monster throw after picking up a fanged wyvern is the only monster attack I know of that bypasses the 1 HP limit.

No but a monster won't be affected if it's enraged

Did you notice that in Iceborne you almost never start in your camp?
Back in MHF G rank you rarely start in the camp , always somewhere in the middle of nowhere. Sometimes in a secret area that allowed you to harvest rare materials. Also the supply delivery was random sometimes you got supplies delivered to your chest, sometimes not at all.
The Black Baron right, I was also once delivered into a ,,secret” area in elders recess, where when you mined, you would only get armour spheres.

A turf war only drops a creature to the lowest amount it can't kill it
I made this build yesterday (almost...still need to get that second health augment). I don’t have any critical/whatever jewels, so I went for the Shara gloves for the non-velkana piece
Overall, I’m finding it kind of boring as a thing to main. But it is a really fun way to change things up...or deal with flying shit
Also the wyvernsnipe mod gives you an absolutely amazing wake up option so I do that along with my 4 close ranges

Monsters CAN die in Turf Wars. I've had an Anjanath die after Rathalos dropped him in the Ancient Forest. I've also had the Tobi Kadachi I was trying to capture die when Deviljho tried to use it to smack me upside the head.
It can die if it's not the main monster in the quest. And as for deviljho, he does straight damage, it's not really a turf war
just subscribed because of this vid something out of the ordinary and chill farm ^_^

650 hours in base world and I never knew you could turn those crystal chunks on the ground into crystal burst. Sigh...
it actually ocurred to me, i was in a quest where you must capture a barroth, he did a total of 3 turf war (2 with juratodus a 1 diablos) and died in the 3rd, wasnt even mad that i lost the quest it was too funny
And i thought i have the badest luck in the game 😂😂😂😂😂😂
