Announcing a new subspecies: Ironfrost Velkhana. Now you get to enjoy all your "favorite" parts of Kushala while fighting Velkhana. Such wonders any hunter should expect when tackling this fight include, but are not limited to: * Bouncing on the wings over and over again when you're just trying to smack the head during a topple. * Staying in the air 800% longer than standard Velkhana. * Ironfrost Velkhana introduces a brand new elemental blight: Icescourge. Similar to how blastscourge is a more powerful version of blastblight that detonates quicker, icescourge is a more powerful version of iceblight. Icescourge's effects are: increased stamina use, stamina reduced to half of base (similar to effluvium's health reduction), and a movement speed penalty. * Any icy black wind aura that slowly builds around Ironfrost Velkhana. When at it's maximum intensity this wind aura deflects gunner ammo, pushes back hunters if they enter a 10 foot radius near Ironfrost Velkhana, and instantly applies icescourge to the player. * To counter this new wind, players must have "All Wind Pressure Negated" either through armor skills or a hunting horn's buff. Icescourge will still be applied regardless unless hunters have enough ice resist, or are immune to blights via armor skills. * Alternativelly, dragonseal weapons may find it possible to remove the wind aura after dragonseal procs. The aura will immediately be removed, and Ironfrost Velkhana will then instantly reapply it at it's weakest intensity. * When fighting inside Ironfrost Velkhana's nest several icy black wind tornados will spawn around the room and slowly move around the area. Unlike when fighting Kushala Daora, these tornados will persist indefinitely until Ironfrost Velkhana is defeated.
I used claw hbg spam till cons_oa posted his kinsec build which works well vs every even tempered monster with 10-15min clear times. Edit: Claw HBG spam is still best way to hunt tempered HR elder investigations (or any hr monster in general) in 2-3mins for decos farm. Edit2: you can claw attack monster when the sleep animation begins which wont stop it and allow you to clutch wake up hit for ~1600-2k dmg
Taking one level of WEx and one crit eye will give you 100% affinity with the possibility of opening up level 1 slots for attack boost or utility skills. Could be an option for those of us not flush with level 4 decos.
I’m very confused. The horn king has elemental ammo options; this would completely negate a non element jewel. So what are we talking about here?. Did I miss something?
@@Buddylovell What elemental ammo do you see, maybe you think poison or paralysis is an element or are you confusing demon ammo with dragon. Only fire, ice, water, thunder and dragon count as elemental ammo.
thank you my dude.. this really isn't just a meme or an okay fun build.. this sh*t it actually legit! Im on PC and still new to iceborn, I play defensiv builds and just got into the counter lance playstyle where I use the claw to block and wound, but THIS my dude this is the aggresiv version of that! I modified it with recovery up and life and use the healing augment, so slightly less damage, but MAN this build is SUPER nice! it does insane amounts of damage and healing, this build is super safe, supportive, fun, interactive, and STRONK! totally love it! Thanks for finding this!
You can now add stun dmg to your build if you use a safi weapon with barioth and velkana skill. you deal less dmg than the zooka, but you as the hunter become a sticky ammo yourself.
Before all these claw main videos, I accidentally made some similar builds and ended a lot of my early MR hunts with clutch. Reminded me of the "bug main" days!

I've been using a similar build based off of gc's and another build from a video I found and from what I've noticed is that the damage is different per monster using the clutch claw build ..
Different monsters have different damage value zones. So some monster will take more damage to the head than other monsters (as an example). Since it's not explosive damage, it's not a fixed amount.
Magda Gemitus Vulcan actually comes out ahead just slightly because you can actually put Elementless on it where you don't even have it equipped. Just put 6 Custom attack upgrades, with Health and Attack Augment 1 In your build you have no room for it and sacrificing a crit boost is the same 5% anyway
@@SaintAdjacent Are you saying you have elementtless on your Magda cause even if you don't have flaming ammo in your inventory you still are not getting any benefit from the elementless deco. Look at your base dmg with and without it and the numbers will be the same
nice build, i've done some tests with Artillery with my Shara build, Blackwing Bowgun 2, Zorah head b, zorah chest b, Acidic Glavenus arms b, Zorah Coil a, Shara legs b and razor sharp charm, got 372 attack, 79% affinity with critical eye lv7, tremor resistance lv3, crit boost lv3, part breaker lv3 and so on. Artillery is only lv1 from Zorah coil. I've tested in the training room the detonation 2 with rapid fire and detonation 3, tested with artillery 1, 3 and 5. detonation 2 does 8 hits with 175 damage on artillery 1, detonation 3 does 77 damage on artillery 1. detonation 2 does 8 hits with 214 damage on artillery 3 and 97 damage with detonation 3 on artillery 3. detonation 2 does also 8 hits with 231 damage on artillery 5 and 103 damage with detonation 3 on artillery 5. So from that point i would say, running artillery is a great bonus damages, having artillery 3 is enough and 5 isnt really needed, haven't done tests with artillery lv2 but maybe that would also be already enough to deal some decent extra damage.

Yash Jalim eh if they did it there’s only a few iconic not humanoid bosses that would work. Sif being the only real boss of enough acclaim that isn’t either a humanoid or dragon significantly bigger than 90% of elder dragons.
i use magda gemitus it same damage as solem but it r11 so more augment slot it can fit 2 attack or 1 attack 1 health and one thing it special is it can custom upgrade so it can have a bit of more damage - 20 affinity is not a thing with agitator 5 it just left with -10 to deal with it just 2 crit eye or you can custom affinity 5% so just left with 1 crit eye
I'm just curious with that with this build is crit eye necessary? Crit draw 3 gives you 100% affinity I thought. Please correct me if I'm wrong @thegameconomist
I never have luck trying anyone else's build. Something's always wrong. I'm getting a max of 644, even after carting 2 times, eating for attack, and doing demondrug and mega demondrug.
wow, this seems really powerful and easy to use. If I were to play this, I think I'd go for Health Augment and Earplugs though, since I like it comfy. Also I'm a noob and do not play well enough to make use of a max damage build anyways.

What about the bone tree Cartilage blaster III? it has 420 attack 0 affinity a lvl 3 deco slot and is rarity 11(15 less then griffon but 0 affinity) will it be able to out damage the clawzooka?
So Ive done my own build along these lines. I worked in stun boost 3. Although I try my best to get at the head as much as possible Im not sure if the stun bonus is being effective at all. Any ideas?

Ness Hunter I don’t think this is going to get nerfed. It’s still a fairly slow kill method, and there are plenty of monsters that this won’t work very consistently on. Fun build but definitely not busted enough to warrant a nerf

Hellblazer it’s not broken dude lmao. I’m not even great with greatsword, and I can easily sub 10 Velk. Speed runs for Velk go sub two minutes lol. This works really well on Velk because she doesn’t have hardly any attacks that counter the clutch claw, but stuff like Lunastra, Rajang, Kushala, etc are just going to be shaking you off every other attachment. It’s a nice and easy build but it’s by no means broken
@@martinhall9497 well then again you're comparing it to a weapon that, on a weakend part, can do the same damage as this HBG, if not more and more consecutively. Where as with the HBG you get blasted off and away when firing the shot and with the GS you can hit for half thousand on a CC attach then do 1200 to 3k damage through constant hits if good with GS combos while knocked. You said previously on another video that zinogre HBG/shield was broken and OP for zero skill, talking about how it does too much damage where as this HBG you say isnt broken but yet topples the zinogre HBG. Lol like I said it's broken, but doesn't need fixing.
@@smklvr69 it won't get nerfed because it has a niche use. It will only work against certain monsters that can't knock you off when you clutch claw. Apart from that it is pretty redundant. Slicing got nerfed because it was just outright broken. The damage it dealt, the ammunition you were allowed to carry, the staggers and because it could destroy every monster with very little skill.
Yes. Because once a monster is enraged you can not wall plant them but you can still do the claw attack. Meaning you get more damage per hit and with over time.
Pretty sure it's the frostcraft skill in the video ( Velkhana armor 4 pieces ) You could, however also use Dante layered armor on the arms which is also brings a kinda crystal blue glow

That's the most disappointing thing about Iceborne I was so looking forward to using something besides the flower for para. and the cat rattle for sleep. There are a lot of good looking paloco weapons that I will never use cause you can't beat sleep and paralysis we need transmog for paloco weapons.
This isn't a clawshot set, this is just a typical damage armor set. This is how most armor sets should look if you're playing for fast times. But besides that, I do have to critique this idea in that some monsters like Deviljho are extremely dangerous to try a strategy like this on. Some monsters toss out several hits at once with certain attacks. In some cases like Jho's jaw swipe you would immediately kill your Temporal mantle or in the case of Rocksteady cart before you can even react. TL;DR while showcasing on Velkana makes it look promising, It should be noted this is not an ace in the hole for every situation.

Take Wyvernsnipe 2 instead of Shield, since you will be injuring parts constantly, use it whenever its ready.

No need to manually sheath when you tap L3 then claw the gun auto sheaths till you hit triangle again.
You dont need crit eye if you have max crit draw, draw give you 100% affinity.

the beauty of this build and play style is that you get enough knock downs and distance to heal if you need to, quick sheath really helps with that

Have you tested if the wyvernsnipe mod 2 affects monsters. It doesnt show on the training dummy.

Slicing got nerfed because it was just outright broken. The damage it dealt, the ammunition you were allowed to carry, the staggers and because it could destroy every monster with very little skill.

yes, wallbangs are a set amount of damge and unaffected by your skills.
Yes. Because once a monster is enraged you can not wall plant them but you can still do the claw attack. Meaning you get more damage per hit and with over time.

You're forgetting that that's what youtubers do even the huge channels like rage gaming and jinx use builds from Japanese channels like Tatsuffy and upload their own as a same copy of their video explaining it to everyone and that's how they get more views and subs. That's the most disappointing thing about Iceborne I was so looking forward to using something besides the flower for para. and the cat rattle for sleep. There are a lot of good looking paloco weapons that I will never use cause you can't beat sleep and paralysis we need transmog for paloco weapons.

This isn't a clawshot set, this is just a typical damage armor set. This is how most armor sets should look if you're playing for fast times.
But besides that, I do have to critique this idea in that some monsters like Deviljho are extremely dangerous to try a strategy like this on. Some monsters toss out several hits at once with certain attacks. In some cases like Jho's jaw swipe you would immediately kill your Temporal mantle or in the case of Rocksteady cart before you can even react.
TL;DR while showcasing on Velkana makes it look promising, It should be noted this is not an ace in the hole for every situation.
