Solo it's significantly easier. The thresholds are increased in multiplayer, meaning you will probably get 4-5 KOs in the entire fight, if that. To give you an example, in a solo fight, the first knockdown solo requires about 300 KO damage. Which sticky delivers in spades. The first knockdown in a squad of 4 requires over 1000 KO damage. In a solo hunt I might be able to finish with the ammo I brought with me + crafted. In a group hunt, there will come a point at around the 65% progress mark, where I will have to go back to refill from camp.

Threahold limits are a base, additive, and then limit. For example, 300 base KO to knock out, every time he does the limit is increased by, say, 250, with a final limit of 2800 where it wont go any higher if you get that far
Rajang is very easy with stickies in general. He's quite easy to topple and doesn't have that much health which is balanced with his speed and attacks. Both of which are rendered useless by stickies and taunt cat gadget

Economist: Palico heals to from cart damage is so OP. Later in the fight gets killed whilst in its recovery animation. Me: and that's why i never use that one.
I'm not sure if you're aware, but if you edit your radial menu you can set the ammo crafting to 'All' now, so you don't have to make the bullets one by one. Big quality of life spike, and if done right can make your gun feel like it's a bolt-action rifle.

Screw normal ammo. I want Capcom to give us HGBs and LBGs that focus on slicing but nooooo, they kneejerk nerfed it into the ground way back in base game and have been too afraid to let it be good again ever since.
To be honest, i was hoping that the new HBG's was a bit better from the attack value as i thought they would be nice for clutch claw. Maybe Capcom didnt wanted to support a clutch claw build as i still think the Magdaros HBG is a lot better for that.
Its so much better in damage its only koz fatalis gear wasnt out,,if he has max attack boost the damage is usually at 800-1000for like 7shits bruv plus max artillery,,so yeah broken lol
FYI, there is actually an option now to craft all of one type of ammo in one go, rather than spamming a direction with the analog stick. If you go to the menu to customize your wheel, one of the tabs has the option to craft all at once, it's super useful for sticky builds
I’ve gotten used to the auto reload on the blaster. That reload however, looks painful. Edit; So now that we have this on PC, I like the 2/2 and the reload becomes bearable. The Aquascum LBG has spoiled me though, having both true free shot and the zomag artillery is just too damn good.
dont build for artillery 5,with felyne bombardier and the many attack increasers(demon powder, eating attack L, etc.) you can get to like 95%(+) of the sticky dmg cap with just artillery 3 on a true spareshot build. thats WITH healthboost 3 btw.
Hbg is way too slow mobility-wise for Peak Performance in solo play unless you're the typical veteran that has played thousands of hours, memorized all the monsters moves to the point of foresight, and can beat fatalis naked with no weapon.
Just tried this build last night with some tweaks (didn't have all the jewels). Even with one missing agitator level, it demolished furious rajang twice in multiplayer and raging brachydios. Thanks for sharing!
Good god this build is fantastic. Shoots fast, reload time isn't too bad considering you're getting off anywhere from like 4+ stickies (my max was 13 before reload) because of that true spare shot. When I do guiding lands I just remove one point of guard for fortify.
Why the True Spare shot over Artillery 5+normal spareshot? I would think regardless of the increased chance at a bullet, you would just get a more reliable number to reach sticky damage cap with artillery 5.
It's because you will hit the damage-cap with just eating all atk and 2 fortitude. Unless you don't take advantage on evasion mantle, HH song, or whatever give stupid amount of damage, then artillery 5 will be better.
Little tip in case you don't know this yet, when you setup your radial menu you can select an 'all' option for crafting your ammo which crafts all the ammo you can with one click, sparing you some time and a lot of clicks ;)
I am surprised you are still not using a SSD for your Xbox. I got an internal SSD and usb 2.0 enclosure then plugged into the USB on my One X and my load times are rarely over 3-4 seconds. It’s worth the $100. And thanks for the great info once again!
If you tranq him and then put the shock trap, he'll still get captured no matter whether he's enraged or not. This only works with the shock traps when enraged
KO secret is really nice on a sticky build, if you mix your para and sleep in well you can stunlock most things. You can change your radial crafting to "craft all" so you don't need to spam it.
I am using raging brach armor. B head B chest A gloves and belt. I use B frajang boots with razor sharp charm. I have 2 reload asist 2 suspressor 1 shield. Getting free element ammo up with jewels. I have slugger 3.
If you want to be able to run Artillery Secret alongside a razorsharp skill you are probably better using a safi weapon to get both narga's and zorah's set bonuses.
Also you can run current run Artillery 5 and Naracuga. Naracuga is 3 pieces, Artillery is 4. You can wear 5 armor and safi weapon skill but you need 7 spots. Also, there isn't a good Safi sticky gun.
@@kennethharrison4946 Raging Brachi's artillery secret require's 4, but Zorah Magdaros' also gives artilley secret for only 3 pieces. I run true razor sharp and artillery secret on my safi aquashot lbg build. I can't speak to the viability of the safi hbgs, but the aquashot lbg is incredibly popular.
@@absolix730 ya, you are right, in fact, that is the Safi Aquashot build. Right now Aquashot is the only Safi bowgun with a good sticky set up because clip size is 1 even with 3 release.
I haven't made the build yet, but from the Aquashot builds I have been seeing, set builders are using the Narga alpha helm and legs to build for peak, not sure if it fits with all the extra skills you have, but something to consider if you haven't already. :D I love this new gun, with health aug, rocksteady and a health booster you can just tank the entire Raging brachy Stage 3 and just pummel him with stickies. a couple gunners have showcased this on RUclips already and its nuts :D Salivating in PC
if use 4 parts of brach for agitator 7 and artillery 5, can be better or just be the same? and use another jewel? the other that gives you the same passive of nargacuca set. I really dont know about builds, but a tryed and really liked. sorry i dont remeber the name of the jewel, because i play the game in portuguese. i think that it will increse the defence and increse the jewel that you can use in the build, but its just my opinion. I dont know too, if became better ou worse, if you could explain i will me so happy :)
Você pode usar o set 4/4 do brachydios sim, mas recomendo usar somente as braces no alpha e o resto no beta, e você teria que usar o spareshot charm, no final daria numa nice sim porém precisaria das decoraçoes de awaken (ammo up), seria uma troca, mas sim, o set que tu ta usando pode ficar eficiente, porém não compensa usar decoraçoes de atk se você estiver com o artillery 5 porque já vai alcançar o dano maximo da heavybow gun do furious rajang (espero nao ter ficado muito complicado)
i use 4 piece rage brachy armor for the artillery secret. and kushala daora leg armor, these give evade extender wich makes the HBG dodge rolling insanely long and great for mobility with the proper jewels, you end up with artillery 5 agitator 7 vitality 3 KO 3 Ammo up 3 and i think you have room for peak performance, not sure Spare shot (charm)
thanks for sharing the build.. but i wasnt sure how i felt about agitator on a sticky. i did mine with razor sharp charm, and artillery secret from zorah.. works wonders! i proby would check out a raging bracy version
There can be many reasons to that, but in this case, due to the amount of pieces you can wear you need to make a compromise, either run artillery secret and spare shot or agitator secret and true spare shot; you can't fit 4 pieces of raging brachy armor + 3 pieces of narga armor, so you need to choose one or the other and since sticky already has low ammo count compared to other types of ammo, true spare shot is almost always the better choice. Another reason is that sticky ammo has a damage cap. So, depending on the weapon, having something like Attack 7, Artillery 5, Peak Performance 3 and Agitator 7 is literally a waste of skills.
I'd rather have peak performance over agitator 7, 5 is enough imo if you do want it. HBG for me, need max guard/shield though. I'd much rather have max artillery too. Downgrading from Narg sucks, but at least you'll fulfill turning into a true tank. I'll be trying this idea out later.
Agitator is good because of the crit which Sticky HBG doesn't use. I tried Agi 7 on my build and my shell damage increase from 117 to 124 when enraged. Not really worth the slots.
@@kennethharrison4946 Yeah exactly. If it was HBG shotgun, it works for crit. But going for the atk status for stickies, not so much. I don't really have the best decorations either so I'd opt for peak performance over agitator if possible since you do get more attack at level 3.
personally, I would go for 4 brachy parts for both artillery and agitator secret, and use the spare shot charm to make up for true spareshot being absent.
Spareshot isn't nearly as good as true spareshot. I think the monsyer math guys did something on it but try it out for yourself in the training area. You will see true spare procs much more.
I’ve been curious about this for the RUclipsr using hbg why on the radius wheel do you all choose to craft 1 ammo at the time when there is a craft all ammo which is way more convenient is there something I’m missing?
yes i noticed this too the only reason i can think of is because you make 2 ammo per sticky 1 used so if your making 9 ammo your wasting one shot but i always try to craft more ammo on an odd number generally when i have 1 or 3 shots left so i am crafting 8 or 6 respectively

It's kinda annoying that cluster and sticky ammo are so limited. They do just fine with normal monsters but you won't have enough of it to kill temp elders .
@@ruslanamrahov6291 I do use farcasters for it but it's annoying that it's only ammo type that needs it. I don't think entire sticky ammo clip with clusters is enough to kill temp elders.
@@nicksbordone5271 I think he just means un-capturable monsters in general. Needing to do an extra ~20% damage to finish a hunt tends to be enough to require the restock unless you get really lucky with environmental damage.
@@kennethharrison4946 Perhaps better than Rajang Blaster, but Magda loses to Rajang Destroyer. Demonlord Beastbuster is inferior because it has lower raw, no slots, positive affinity doesn't matter for sticky.
@@zMainframe let's say you have 8 sticky 2 in reserve. If you craft sticky 2 once you should get 2 stickies but one is lost because the maximum you can hold is 9. It's a division. Now if you use craft all, you will always go over the cap if your stickies are at an even number. For example, if you have 4 stickies and craft all then the amount goes from 4 to 6 to 8 to 9. So one is lost. If you have 3 stickies it goes from 3 to 5 to 7 to 9 so none are lost. This is only true for sticky 2 and 3 by the way since each craft gives you two ammo.

Used your setup for this after we fought Rajang together. Its such a breeze and makes the game easy mode! Question, if you drop true spareshot and went with zorah artillery secret with brachy greaves and waist? Gonna try it out cheers!
The increased damage from the two additional artillery does not equal the bonus from true spareshot. The damage on Artillery 5 is like 125 per sticky. Without it is like 117. You can easily get 1 or more extra shots per clip with naracuga bonus. So a clip of 4 with Art 5 is 500 damage approx without it is 460. 1 extra shot + 460 =577. The more you peoc the better it is. Also it save reload time, ammo, etc. Right now there is no way to Narcuga set 3 and Art set 4 together.
@Shasvin Puvanesvaran Is it though? I mean you can fire off some powerful shots don't get me wrong, but if you're that close to a monster then you could just go all in with Spread ammo. What legit reason is there to run Normal Ammo over Spread Ammo if running a CQC build?
Krazytre Normal has better range than spread so if you don’t wanna be right in the monsters face all the time or you’re not as confident at dodging it can suit you better, plus I find normal better than spread with lbg as it doesn’t have the defensive options hbg has
@@mcsket519 Yeah, I can see that argument for LBG since they don't have the ability to run Guard, Guard Up, etc, so getting that close to a monster to effectively run the Spread builds can be a bit of a challenge. So I guess, in a way, HBG is made more for spread while LBG is made more for Normal. The problem with that, though, is that in the case of Normal vs Spread, Spread will always win in terms of damage. Yeah, you may not want to be in the monsters face but you're gonna have to be in many, if not most, instances of the fight unless you're playing in multiplayer. Monsters like (Raging) Brachydios, (Furious) Rajang, Nergigante, Bazel, Deviljho, and many others will always want to be in your face most of the time. Sure, Normal can be good for monsters like Velkhana and Namielle, but other than those, and a few of the others like Legiana and some of the flying wyverns, you're not gonna be fighting many monsters that actively try to stay away from you. I think a damage buff to Normal Ammo can be beneficial. It doesn't have to be the same damage as Spread ammo, but a small bump can greatly benefit both bowguns.

As mostly using melee, i found lbg is much easier way to stickies with evade reloading, even that sometime rajang caught me off guard, it looks so difficult using hbg with that long reload
Hands down yes. True/Razor has a 25%(correct me if I am wrong) of procing the skill, which means more damage over all. Even base razor/spare has a higher output. Sure, you see the lower damage numbers per shot. But that is without the skill, with them you have an extra(or six with luck) shot that you just got. Which balances out your damage loss.
I do have these skill and test them...If you are that lucky, true razor will give you more damage than artillery 5... After all , it's all about chances. You can use razor charm ,and 4brachy armor and fur-rajang leg......Which will give you challenge 7 art 5 and HP buff 3...
hmm.. tbh, i only care about the highest damage per sticky, so something like 148 for aquashot i won't use, the old rajang can get up to 190 with fortify which is insane lol
xFuRzZx but like the rapid fire sticky 2 kinda makes up for it but I don’t recommend using it while the monster is moving only when stunned or ko cuz the recover is slow

Farm The Name's Lavasioth. It's easy with master gear, and Sharp, Guard Up, Mighty Bow etc do not drop from the same Feystones that have level 4 jewels (Iceborne feystones). They literally are not on the drop table.
I've seen the video of the comparison between Spare and True Spare. Will it be okay to use the former rather than the Narga set for Furious Raj's HBG? Or is the Narga set better because the chance to not use ammo is higher?

Only a few monsters can cart you if you roll right after the animation ends.. capcom did a really good job timing the i frames

Gajalaka Bomb + Blast weapon is how my Palico rolls.
Moewcano is the shit. I love it especially when monster focuses on palico (your cat is invicible during the animation).

You can do two reload assists on this gun and still be mobile with Sticky’s with recoil suppressor x2
I used to play with 2 reloads then switched to 4 recoils lately and the hunts were much faster, like 2 mins faster. This is the way to go

generally that is wasteful depending on when you use it. you get less ammo that way with most ammo types. pretty sure that applies to sticky, also.

Old Rajang HBG may not have sleep ammo but it also basically had no reload so it’s still just better since you can hit Sticky cap with it.
It has also has higher raw and a slot. I don't see why people are trying to pick this thing over the regular rajang HBG for sticky.

Yeah hope we get an upgrade to the Nargacuga set already. Its pretty sad that TSS is Narga armor exlusive and its one of the early MR armors.

I beat Furious Rajang today and was lucky enough to get a heart on the first carve! This is the weapon that I made and it's absolutely insane

i like 2 recoils, 2 reload and 1 shield so i dont have the reload animation so you arent caught slippin

I am using raging brach armor. B head B chest A gloves and belt. I use B frajang boots with razor sharp charm. I have 2 reload asist 2 suspressor 1 shield. Getting free element ammo up with jewels. I have slugger 3.
How worth it would it be to drop True razor sharp in favor of using the charn for regular razor sharp and wearing 4 piece Brach for artillery 5?
If you want to be able to run Artillery Secret alongside a razorsharp skill you are probably better using a safi weapon to get both narga's and zorah's set bonuses.
The slight damage increase is not worth the loss of bonus ammo procs. Trueshot procs much more than regular. Try it in training area and see.
Also you can run current run Artillery 5 and Naracuga. Naracuga is 3 pieces, Artillery is 4. You can wear 5 armor and safi weapon skill but you need 7 spots. Also, there isn't a good Safi sticky gun.
@@kennethharrison4946 Raging Brachi's artillery secret require's 4, but Zorah Magdaros' also gives artilley secret for only 3 pieces. I run true razor sharp and artillery secret on my safi aquashot lbg build. I can't speak to the viability of the safi hbgs, but the aquashot lbg is incredibly popular.
@@absolix730 ya, you are right, in fact, that is the Safi Aquashot build. Right now Aquashot is the only Safi bowgun with a good sticky set up because clip size is 1 even with 3 release.
I haven't made the build yet, but from the Aquashot builds I have been seeing, set builders are using the Narga alpha helm and legs to build for peak, not sure if it fits with all the extra skills you have, but something to consider if you haven't already. :D
I love this new gun, with health aug, rocksteady and a health booster you can just tank the entire Raging brachy Stage 3 and just pummel him with stickies. a couple gunners have showcased this on RUclips already and its nuts :D

I really dont know about builds, but a tryed and really liked. sorry i dont remeber the name of the jewel, because i play the game in portuguese. i think that it will increse the defence and increse the jewel that you can use in the build, but its just my opinion. I dont know too, if became better ou worse, if you could explain i will me so happy :)

and kushala daora leg armor, these give evade extender wich makes the HBG dodge rolling insanely long and great for mobility

On your Radial menu you make craft all level 1 and level 3 sticky that way you don’t have to craft one by one.

Im completely new to the hbg & i have a question, why didn’t he maxed out artillery to the maxed artillery’s secret?
There can be many reasons to that, but in this case, due to the amount of pieces you can wear you need to make a compromise, either run artillery secret and spare shot or agitator secret and true spare shot; you can't fit 4 pieces of raging brachy armor + 3 pieces of narga armor, so you need to choose one or the other and since sticky already has low ammo count compared to other types of ammo, true spare shot is almost always the better choice.
Another reason is that sticky ammo has a damage cap. So, depending on the weapon, having something like Attack 7, Artillery 5, Peak Performance 3 and Agitator 7 is literally a waste of skills.

Agitator is good because of the crit which Sticky HBG doesn't use. I tried Agi 7 on my build and my shell damage increase from 117 to 124 when enraged. Not really worth the slots.

But going for the atk status for stickies, not so much. I don't really have the best decorations either so I'd opt for peak performance over agitator if possible since you do get more attack at level 3.

personally, I would go for 4 brachy parts for both artillery and agitator secret, and use the spare shot charm to make up for true spareshot being absent.
Spareshot isn't nearly as good as true spareshot. I think the monsyer math guys did something on it but try it out for yourself in the training area. You will see true spare procs much more.

I’ve been curious about this for the RUclipsr using hbg why on the radius wheel do you all choose to craft 1 ammo at the time when there is a craft all ammo which is way more convenient is there something I’m missing?
yes i noticed this too the only reason i can think of is because you make 2 ammo per sticky 1 used so if your making 9 ammo your wasting one shot
but i always try to craft more ammo on an odd number generally when i have 1 or 3 shots left so i am crafting 8 or 6 respectively

It's kinda annoying that cluster and sticky ammo are so limited.
They do just fine with normal monsters but you won't have enough of it to kill temp elders .
Keep forecasters and back to camp for restock whenever needed :) + craft only when even number of ammo left, preferably 3.

@@nicksbordone5271 I think he just means un-capturable monsters in general. Needing to do an extra ~20% damage to finish a hunt tends to be enough to require the restock unless you get really lucky with environmental damage.

you can actually trap a furious raj in a shock trap if you tranq him first, it's an immediate cap.
Why not use the Craft All for Sticky 1/3 on your radial menu? Save you some joystick mashing :)

@@zMainframe let's say you have 8 sticky 2 in reserve. If you craft sticky 2 once you should get 2 stickies but one is lost because the maximum you can hold is 9. It's a division. Now if you use craft all, you will always go over the cap if your stickies are at an even number. For example, if you have 4 stickies and craft all then the amount goes from 4 to 6 to 8 to 9. So one is lost. If you have 3 stickies it goes from 3 to 5 to 7 to 9 so none are lost. This is only true for sticky 2 and 3 by the way since each craft gives you two ammo.
There is a deco but it may be a waste its a lvl2 and you either never have to use cool or hot drink

Used your setup for this after we fought Rajang together. Its such a breeze and makes the game easy mode! Question, if you drop true spareshot and went with zorah artillery secret with brachy greaves and waist? Gonna try it out cheers!
The increased damage from the two additional artillery does not equal the bonus from true spareshot. The damage on Artillery 5 is like 125 per sticky. Without it is like 117. You can easily get 1 or more extra shots per clip with naracuga bonus. So a clip of 4 with Art 5 is 500 damage approx without it is 460. 1 extra shot + 460 =577. The more you peoc the better it is. Also it save reload time, ammo, etc. Right now there is no way to Narcuga set 3 and Art set 4 together.

What legit reason is there to run Normal Ammo over Spread Ammo if running a CQC build?
Krazytre Normal has better range than spread so if you don’t wanna be right in the monsters face all the time or you’re not as confident at dodging it can suit you better, plus I find normal better than spread with lbg as it doesn’t have the defensive options hbg has
@@mcsket519 Yeah, I can see that argument for LBG since they don't have the ability to run Guard, Guard Up, etc, so getting that close to a monster to effectively run the Spread builds can be a bit of a challenge.
So I guess, in a way, HBG is made more for spread while LBG is made more for Normal.
The problem with that, though, is that in the case of Normal vs Spread, Spread will always win in terms of damage. Yeah, you may not want to be in the monsters face but you're gonna have to be in many, if not most, instances of the fight unless you're playing in multiplayer. Monsters like (Raging) Brachydios, (Furious) Rajang, Nergigante, Bazel, Deviljho, and many others will always want to be in your face most of the time. Sure, Normal can be good for monsters like Velkhana and Namielle, but other than those, and a few of the others like Legiana and some of the flying wyverns, you're not gonna be fighting many monsters that actively try to stay away from you.
I think a damage buff to Normal Ammo can be beneficial. It doesn't have to be the same damage as Spread ammo, but a small bump can greatly benefit both bowguns.

As mostly using melee, i found lbg is much easier way to stickies with evade reloading, even that sometime rajang caught me off guard, it looks so difficult using hbg with that long reload

Hands down yes. True/Razor has a 25%(correct me if I am wrong) of procing the skill, which means more damage over all. Even base razor/spare has a higher output. Sure, you see the lower damage numbers per shot. But that is without the skill, with them you have an extra(or six with luck) shot that you just got. Which balances out your damage loss.
I do have these skill and test them...If you are that lucky, true razor will give you more damage than artillery 5...
After all , it's all about chances.
You can use razor charm ,and 4brachy armor and fur-rajang leg......Which will give you challenge 7 art 5 and HP buff 3...

For the record, you don't build KO damage when the monster is still in a KO status, same thing with other status ailments.

Farm The Name's Lavasioth. It's easy with master gear, and Sharp, Guard Up, Mighty Bow etc do not drop from the same Feystones that have level 4 jewels (Iceborne feystones). They literally are not on the drop table.
