I joined a random expedition once at guiding lands, there this one player have max HR 999 and MR 999 using safi fire dual blades. We were hunting a tempered velkhana and this dude slaughtered the elder dragon ruthlessly while dodging every velkhana attacks eventhough the 3 of us running around spamming max potions. After the hunt ends that dude just said thank you and went off, didnt even bother to carve. I felt amazed and inspired

well there are cheats if you didnt know .. and you can easily reach 999 999 and you can activate immortal mode and infinite stamina so i guess it was a cheater, i dont recommend cheating though since it will take all your fun away from the game. i cheated in mhw vanilla and it completely ruined the experience for me, because each and every achievement doesnt feel real..

I just stick to LBG or Bow against Rajang. Otherwise I'd be spending most of the hunt getting diabetes from the ecto cooler.
I have a few tempered Rajang investigations hanging out, but I ain't gonna lie, the thought of a shiny Rajang gives me a bit of anxiety.

Little mistake spotted in the video : the adept stormslinger is only available for ps4 users. So PC players won't be able to use it to proc fortify when safi drops. Great video regardless, keep up the good work guys !

you can still proc fotify with safi, but it's a lot slower due to not having stormslinger self damage, so just going back to self mega barrel bombing I guess

I still remember booting up this video when I was merely MR 49, I'm now sitting at MR844 HR999 and can't be thankful enough that this video helped me through, just reinstalled the game to help randoms. Great video for newbies who want to dedicate reaching to the 999s

I'm sorry... my older brother has a higher rank (both MR and HR) and I have a defense almost 300 points higher than him, but he uses hammer (and his words not mine "because every thing is weak against hammer") but I use the charge blade and the sword and board, but I also use defense jewels and a level 3 defense charm (I don't have the mats to raise it yet), and my charge blade also increases my defense by +35

I don't feel like you need high MR for that. I'm around MR 60 atm and seeing as I just want more decos and MR so I can unlock the harder quests, I just jump into random SOS's constantly and usually end up carrying. MR is just a number my dude.
I personally found sending out SOS flares made the game harder.
The players that joined actively hindered me, and made the hunt way, way harder.
@@Arkansym that's what you get for playing with randos tbh but it's 50/50, sometimes you get a guy that carry the whole shit or sometimes you get a terrible hunter who keep chugging potions in the back or just performing horribly
You are the kind of people that I have fun hunting with
6:53 or just make rarity 1 heavy bowgun with wyvernheart (and safi armor). Load special ammo and hold R2 for 2 carts in 10 seconds (even if you forgot to remove cats revive its enough for 3rd cart without health booster). Its faster then horizon lbg and doesnt need to have ps4 exclusive dlc
That method is Not faster than Horizon LBG but is still quick.
@@novocomaa With horizon Lbg you need to shot untill the "almost dead" stugger for each cart (so waste time on recover frames).With HBG you use more time for ammo loading ONCE. Thats it and shots actually kill you faster .If you need multiple carts , pretty sure is evens up worst case .(and you need 2 carts for gl where it matters).
You shoot until the LBG over charges. At that point you can’t even see your Health bar. Then Melee attack once and bam. The whole process is over in 4 seconds.
The LBG Draws faster, loads special ammo faster, and carts you in less hits. soo I dunno whatcha talking about. I’ve tested this.
@@novocomaa Eh to each his own I quess .Tested both as well and (for me anyway) lbg feels more work then just holding R2 for about the same time . Besides, its only on ps4 so pc and xbox cant use it( but if you actually tested time for 2 carts to prove me wrong then congrats )
Honestly the methods are within seconds of each other. I didn’t test it to disprove you. I tested it only to know.
In short summary.
Forget everything you every knew about the game, and stop using your main.
Build a very specific build and then farm all the top tier monsters.
Repeat.
Max number badge.

thanks for that build, with my own take (with 2piece val hazak) i got *very* comfy
health up3, both regeneration skills on 3, slugger 3, peak 3, artillery 3, fortify, but only 1 level of special ammo boost,
I tried it and you passively heal the damage dealt to you soo fast and your palico immediately puts you to max with the health balloon. (also i'm stingy with my thousands of pots, don't need to waste any of them)
Though might need to preproc fortify twice to have enough ammo for a complete fight

Great video. I really respect players who spend their time and effort to create strats and fascinating builds like these. I’m very chill when it comes to ranks though. I’m already doing master quests and I’m not even HR 100 lol. I like to grind the game for the sake of collecting weapons and armor sets. When that’s all said and done, I make my own builds from there just for fun.

sticky is actually a counter to rajang, he is a glass cannon type with a small hp bar so he dies quickly

Guys there are even quest, where you get as a reward exp for your ranks. Look for them. On the right sight there is always a short story of the quest as you may already know and at the last sentence there is sometimes special rewards.

I spend about 4-8hrs in one expedition at the Guiding Lands killing every monster on sight while also stacking up lures. MR gains I get range from 45-120 (120 with spawning Tempered Elders provided I have enough lures) at the end of the day.

@@joeycaceres4230 Negative. Is there any assignment quest available that you need to complete? Also check the Seliana map if there is any exclamation point on NPCs that you need to talk to.
Joey Caceres once the MR cap gets removed at the end of your story missions you can kill whatever you want to increase your MR. This video shows how to do it fast and efficient.

The recon mission for safi"jiva is on the 12th of March for pc, the actual kill/raid part is on the 20th :)

My Safi sticky build is three piece zorah and two piece narga with a narga augment on the weapon and attacks on it. It's nice for Safi wing breaks and back break
Mine too except I also have a recoil upgrade on my weapon for easy sticky 3 shooting and I fit divine blessing level 3

DarkCT pretty sure raw doesn’t matter for sticky but if you want a setup suggestion I suggest use true spare shot and artillery 5

0:01 cod bo2 soundtrack, the nostalgia has just ran over me in a tank
Level up tundra, coral and volcano region and you'll gain access to every tempered threat level 3 monsters except gold rathian and blackveil val hazak. I've been doing this for a few weeks now solo and already went up to MR600. For stygian and jho, just use adept stormslinger and you'll kill them under 5 minutes. For everything else, use sticky.
I have a different not so fast method: hunt for golden crowns. By the time you end, you'll be rank 3628,29

Trap spamming takes a lot of work. Collecting tracks from a monster after drawing it out gets you 15 research points per track. Plus the monster you're tracking doesn't have to come from a certain place. Just has to be in the place you want to level up.
Is there a way to use melee weapons to level up fast because I don't think I get get into SOS GL hunts anymore
Love this clip it explains a lot, I personally prefer pierce and viper tobi gun so maybe finding a similar gun or just going for that light bow gun in the clip would be great, I do prefer being able to fire several shots before reloading as I tend to stand and fight rather than kite and micro manage, that being said would be great to finally finish icebourne after putting it off for so long
Ok so i have a question when were in the guilding lands just grinding it out do we want to kill 3 monsters then report and return or just continuously kill until we would have to stop playing the game

Around 7:58 it mentions for an optimal spread build you would need Brute Tigrex chest or Gold Rathian parts. Is there anything particular I should consider for a setup like that for my own hunts with Loyal Thunder.
( The Metal Raths and Brutrex are in the event cycle so I intend to farm them, but I'm not sure what to make. )

the problem with the Sticky Build TDS showed is it's the "Ten Thousand Volts" HBG which apparently unlocks after MR100 (Volcano Lvl 7, Tempered Rajang) so which weapons should I go for to reach MR 100 ?
Brachydios Sticky LBG or just Rajang LBG (1st stage), or should I just go with other weapons

Yeah I was confused when he said it unlocks the ability to fight her. I have my coral and rotten at 7 and have fought tempered velkanna in both. She also seems to be the best way to farm great spirit gems for me (maybe it's just luck)
Yes. Velk can spawn in any biomes except volcano i believe

Fatalis made sticky builds really braindead to make. Either go 3 narga+2 fatalis or just go 4 fatalis and do whatever you want for the last piece. Being able to easily fit slugger secret, artillery secret and true razor sharp/spare slot. Is waaay too good for the build.
For me how I level up quick is I just have a lot of fun
i stuck with raging brachy 3 days straight now... always quest fail. Either me died or partner died in 20 to 25 minutes atacking him

For y'all who don't want to farm rajang lbg you can go for shara lbg they have same dmg but shara has no deviation. But go for rajang if you can upgrade it to thousand voltz. I've been following this guide tho really gud
I only need to be HR 100 so if I understand this right I need to trap spam first to level up my forest area, hunt like crazy till I can do a quest to break my level cap and repeat?

This is actually helpful cause I can only play mhw in my down time now sadly console I have all armors and hammers and I'm only at about 200 mr didnt want to grind as much on pc with LBG cause that's what I main on there but now I may just do it.
For the Safi Aqua sticky build please show/add both upgrades with Narga or Zora (on the gun) other than whatever else you guys presenting

Unfortunately for the early iceborne contents, not too many new players are around to play with. HR was pretty plentiful, but my SOS usually go unanswered while I spent 35mins whacking Glavenus with my Iron Eschaton LS. I'll probably look into this build just so solo hunts don't take 40.

Something i've not been able to work out - this guy is showing the "Ten Thousand Volts" Rajang LBG during the "this is the build you will need for this" but you can't make this until you can farm tempered glimmerpelts which only drop from Tempered Rajang in Lv.7 volcano which wouldn't be until the near-end of this process. Is there something i'm missing?
Hes referring to the base build of TTV not the upgrade, you should be able to make it after the initial quests to fight rajang that you get from the Admiral.

Hey, what augments do you recommand on the rajang bowgun ?
Some 999 Hunting Horn user named Alexander popped into our MR Diablos quest last night and awed us so much that my friend instantly changed to a HH main. Every time the Diablos went under ground, he stunned it as it was coming up (still no idea how he did this). He prepped heal songs for when we were going to get hit and we were healed to full instantly. He kept our buffs up. I think he also had a mod or macro that said what HP the Diables was at, too (it spammed every 20% in the chat with a custom message). Incredible and awe inspiring.

Looking back at this, I cant help but wonder - why even level fast? Grind guiding lands so you can grind more guiding lands. Kill Fatalis. Then what?
Get your biS and hunt all the monsters you might have skipped, and then just log in to get event armor, and then you are done. But even this "fastest method." Takes quite a while to get to MR 999. If that is your goal.
Then you start complaining there is no content and the game is dead
