I doubt they will nerf the gun anytime soon, if they didnt nerf Glutton when it was the spread meta, Zinogre wont either. Clusters were more of a problem and nerfing Spread can make the heavy bowgun shit tier unless they can find a way to balance it properly. Slicing is still shit and clusters being nerfed made it a niche build and I never see it being used anymore.
@@NepuRhythme By improving Normal, pierce and Slicing a bit while nefing Spread, they would balance it. But, like you said, I doubt that will happen. Spread isnt even the highest DPS you can reach in Iceborne. They wont fix what isnt broken.
This doesn't even need nerfed. Damage output is very high but when you look at your teostra time, that could have been nearly cut in half with another build or weapon that's optimized for that hunt. It's just a very strong general build to make when you can't play the game for 80 hours a week like most youtubers do. Most people don't have time to look up 30 different builds optimal for each hunt let alone actually craft them or have decos for all the builds out there!

there are way to mouch provesional videos with ppl who are by faar not good enug to put videos and stand out ; no Razorsharp? which is the MOST damage increase... even with 8 Shots from Ammo UP...; alternativly Guard+Guardup Than "the 2. Level spread realy doesnt give that much? ITS 5% the same as critboost IF you hafe 100% crit which he does not so critboest is worth even less.. Than with Spread run Impact Mantle... its by faar the best damage Increase you can get 2-3 KOs Per MantleUse which are perfekt after wounding Monsterhead.. than talking about special scoop but literaly dont using it in the video.. ;) And i you realy want to increase damage Offensive Guard with Looking away and in front... is awsome 15% increase... AND if you want ThunderAttack go for Kirin Gloves with give +3 Thunder and 4;2;2; Sokets... FreeEle is nice and all but razersharp procs like hell (20% with faulty computer randomizer...) incombination it extens a 8 round magazn into 10-xx rounds; imagin a monster is lying on the floor your pumping your magazin ito it and bevor its empty bamm 4 more shots.. than you switch to level 2 (nobody got time for reload in a down) and the same happens..
I love this weapon, been using it with a Guard Up set(no jewel yet). I'm not home so going off memory, but I've been using Crit Eye 4 charm, G-Rath Helm, Kirin Chest, Uruagan Glove, R-Nerg(or Dober) Waist, and Urugan Boots. Also Glider/Elemental mantle for extra slots and almost always up. I believe the set ends up with Crit Eye 7, Guard 5, Attack Boost 4, Weakness Exploit 3, Health Boost 3, Crit Boost 3, Spread shots 2, Guard Up, Fortify(atk/fort jewel), and a couple other random skills. With this set, you can easily swap the helm with Dober and the waist for Odog, the charm for Razor Sharp, and slot in a Release Jewel and you end up with the same build, but with Free Element 3, Spare Shot, but no Attack 4, Agitator, and lose a level of Crit Boost. As far as I've tested(not too much) The first build does about 15% more per shot, but you have to reload a lot. The second build did 10% more damage when continuously firing for 1 minute.
I say this a lot but 1000 hrs no guard up or guard gems ever. 50+ jagras\lavas runs. Rng is the enemy. I got a lvl 4 guardian gem and celebrated until I saw it was off guard. Lol
Nice, but I rather use guard up + guard lvl 5 and 3 shield mods for super tanky. I don't like scope with spread ammo, makes the game unnatural (like doing something weird, like a glitch for dmg)
don't underestimate them shield mods for hbg. if you aren't good at dodging (or just don't want to) it just takes 3 with some guard to tank supernovas. if you want to be a ranged lance max out your shields with a spare mod and you cant die.

I use 3 shealds 1 recoil and 1 close up mods guard 5 guard up and you wownt need mantels and still pump up alot of damage and i don't even have the loyal thunder i have the mightning+
you know you do more damage if you adjust the scope closer so you can move closer for critical range. your at max range on your scope doing less damage
Traditionally I don't check complain about comments I see on RUclips or question people's opinions. However, lately I've been seeing a lot of people calling for nerfs on spread HBGs and I have to ask, what do you want for HBGs? The community had issues with cluster bombs, which in my opinion was a far bigger issue, and they did end up getting nerfed. Now the issue is "spread needs to be nerfed." Besides the fact that it's not a pvp game where nerfs are to a large extent pointless spread rarely interrupts other players unlike clusters. The main issue is that it does too much damage?? I'm genuinely curious what issues players have with the set-up outside of "too much damage." If your opinion is based on the fact that it makes the game too easy I refer back to my prior statement that this is a co-op game not a pvp game, being able finish the hunt faster and cause stuns is a huge benefit and the point of the game. That all being said I don't see Capcom nerfing anything but if they do I wonder what the next issue the community will have with HBGs since they can't seem to catch a break.

That’s how I run mine my dude, you can tank through most stuff and still put out decent dmg. Rather have survivability over dmg especially because you have to stay so close to the monsters you are fighting. (For spread HBG.)
I prefer to run X3 shield mods, x1 recoil and x1 close range up with: Critical Eye 7 Divine Blessing 5 Guard 5 Free Element/Ammo up 3 Weakness Exploit 3 Critical Boost 3 Health Boost 3 Spread Shots 2 Heat Guard Fortify Guard up
Nice build. I run 3 shield mods, 1close range and 1 recoil with guard 5. Still getting all key skills and spread 2 if you have guard 5 charm. You can block and shoot right after from pretty much all moves that you can block without guard up and still dish out a lot of damage. It takes the high risk out of the spread builds.
@@chrisbarnesbarnes8332 Its mainly for chip damage. U can go with 1 shield mod and guard 5 but u will take a lot of chip damage. Moves like zinogre roll jump, namielle and seething bazelguese super novas literally does nothing to your hp with 3 shield mods.
@@JimboSlice729 I didn't know that I always just used divine blessing 3 (haven't goting the armor for secret divine blessing yet ) to help with chip dmg but your build might be handy for Savage Jo and Black Diablos I have definitely gone from full health to a quarter health before even having a chance to heal as they can do a lot of attack's in rapid succession. 2000+ hrs and I'm still leaning new things God I love this game.
Rajang b+ helm Silver rathalos chest b+ Teostra vambraces b+ Damascus coil b+ Garuga Greaves b+ Guard lv5 charm I got the decos needed to put the build where I needed it to be. Rock what you feel on the bow gun itself but pretty solid setup if you got the decos necessary.
@@BANDEV89 it's the setup I use. With just the armor set you have lv3 weakness exploit, lv2 crit boost, heat guard, lv2 crit eye, and lv5 guard and if you have the decos you can fill in what else is necessary for the build.

@@dariuslee633 It's not from a particular monster. It's from Tempered monsters in the Guiding Lands. Get one of your areas to level 4 and they'll start showing up. Hunt them there and you'll get what you need.

quite like this build but a couple problems. u have crit+8. u were talking bout being unable to fit in spread+2. replace crit on head in the lv4 jewel slot with spread. also if u upgrade the charm to lv3 u can replace the release jewel 3
Would love to see a normal ammo hbg video I have been testing nergi and Luna's heavy bowgun I like nergi for more damage but without any ammo up or a guard up Deco I find it really hard to build for versus luna which dose offer more build diversity to people without certain key decos but definitely would like to see your take on the two
Nerg does more damage via N3 but Luna gives you diversity and comes with its own built in spare shot so no spare shot charm needed I personally go with Luna on solo since N3's KO's easily and while the monsters down hose them down with clusters and then when their up go right back to N3 it's very effective imo especially since you have to build so much raw with Luna just to catch up to nergs gun anyway and clusters are still bonkers and one of my fave ammo types so it's fun lol.
Love the vid tgc been waiting for this review of loyal thunder for awhile now definitely gonna try out this build but if your looking for a tank build I got the same thing going but with guard 5 and 3 shield mods and believe you can tank so much and do really good damage
I made the ultimate defense build with gold rath chest/waist , luna head/arms/legs, the weakness exploit charm and nerg hammer. Maxed out crit eye with decorations and weakness exploit with decorations. The defense is so overkill but its hilarious for guiding lands

People are sleeping on glider mantle. Two level 4 deco slots, 180 uptime 120 downtime. That thing is op as hell. Don’t even need tool specialist either.
I use it for my sticky build, the 4 levels I get (+2 levels come from the glider mantle) make my sticky’s with the shara HBG hit for decent numbers when the monster is enraged.
This HBG can make even comfier and faster hunts that Clusters would in the base game before the nerf, basically now you can build the crit skills, have health boost 3 and guard 5, which basically makes hunting braindead while dealing A LOT OF DAMAGE ( talking about the DPS of a SAED, except it's all the time ), which makes farming that easier lol
weird, cause I just recently played long sword for the first time and it was way too easy. Killed nergigante solo with only a half decent sword in around 10 minutes without every trying the weapon before. Didn't at any point feel threatened. With HBG I perform about as well, except with 50 or so hours of practice behind me, and I constantly feel like a single slip up could cost me a carting. Evasion is just nonsensically easy with lighter weapons, and you don't even have to time your reloads cause there aren't any. Feels like cheating.
@@RedTriangle53 So you must have had like 50 hours total gameplay at this point 10 months ago because you wasn't makin a ton of sense there son! Of course you have to be able to dodge quickly with melee weapons. You literally have to be all up in the monsters hit boxes to do any damage at all... You aren't viewing them from afar able to see exactly what's going on. Nergigante is easy anyway.

The point still remains, sure you can dodge easily with melee... But you've gotta run all back up in their shit and leave yourself vulnerable for predetermined amounts of time based on what move you're wanting to do.. Or you won't do any damage whatsoever. With a bowgun you just slap a shield mod and 5 points of guard on... All you have to do is stop shooting when they get too close, for a split second... The melee classes at least have to hit a button to put their guard up... Along with not doing even a fraction of the damage that a HBG is doing.. Whilst automatically blocking everything... Oh well. To each his own I guess... I don't play longsword really.. I do have to admit it's one of the easier ones imo. I still think HBG is easier to pick up and wreck with having no prior experience.

This is basically the Meta right now. Only reason some players aren't using it is because they either don't have it, don't like easymode quests, or don't know about it. It will not be nerfed either, Glutton wasn't nerfed, so this won't either.
Ive noticed that with the scope within super crit distance a few bullets start missing the sweet spot compared to non scope, at least thats the case for me. I noticed it even when playing with minds eye, so I wondered if the damage loss because of missing bullets due to super crit distance is worth the trade off for the higher individual pellet damage. You can even see it in your video when he is knocked and a few of your pellets start flying by, entirely missing the sweetspot and therefore hitting for way less. Earlier you consistently hit him for really solid damage due to standing closer to him and not needing to be in super distance. Great vid as usual, but i like the "not live" content better If you know what a I mean with that.
I have searched RUclips far and wide and Loyal Thunder is the ONLY Spread Ammo 3 build apparently. That is awesome...except I'm on PC. We do not get the Stygian Zinogre until march 12th. What would be the SECOND best Spread Ammo 3 build to use until then?

The specialscope is just not healthy for your eyes and brain in the long run... I just run regular so I can view the game properly, specialscope is for speedrunners.
So once I kill enough Zinogres to max out lmy lightning SnS and Lance, then I'll build my new shot gun. In the mean time, I have my Hornking Blozooka. Shara Ishvalda writhes in agony. Got a build with earplugs 5 so now I cannot be stopped so easily. Btw shit that thing reloads Wyvern fast!
Special scope for short range is too try hard. Also fire resistance only goes up 3 levels so 4 is a waste of a jewel slot and the same goes for protection jewels. And the placement of it on the mantles section of the gear isn't beneficial you probably want to go for damage increases if unsure.
dude.. please help me a bit.. after days of farming i finally was able to craft this HBG. It went well in the training room, but when I took it for an actual fight, the dps SUCKS! what is it im doing wrongg?? 1. i stacked up a lot of attack jewels until reached level 7 but the damage is still a joke despite the attack reached 472. Instead, was I supposed to stack up on Expert jewels? 2. do we need to do something first, as in like u did, clutch claw and attack him in the head first before spamming spread shots? Is tenderizing some spots required first? 3. must we always hit em in the head? Im having trouble aiming for the head! i dunno how others could simply aim and their shots hit in the head! 4. mods im using are deviation suppressor, 3 shields, scope. Would different mods affect the dps significantly? thanks man!
I might be 4 months late but due to this being a low deviation hbg it’s probably a lot better to just replace the suppressor with a close range up, and I also recommend you seek out trying to get spread/power shots jewels or greaves
unfortunatly felyne tailor seems not that good from what i saw you got your mantle 5 % faster so with tool specialist secret you are at 55%cooldown reduction

Han Daimond agreed. Offensive guard honestly has no business on HBG. That more for Lance, Chargeblade, and maybe Gunlance... but definitely wouldn’t use it for HBG.

my question is, your refering to clip size alot , how often can you drop 8+ shots into a monster, without it hitting you or dodging/ reloading, basically arguing 8 clip without SS is always more than enough.
I get your point, Spareshot isn't a huge dps increase on Glutton 2.0 but it is the largest single skill increase in dps. Teostra will grant you several opportunities to just ram ammo into his head for example. Conversely, Something Like Lunastra (assuming you don't run guard HBG, Which I always would because fuck that bitch in MR) has a faster attack tempo meaning you won't need to dump all your clip into her. However you won't always have safe reloading opportunities, and it is here where having spareshot is a nice boost, You get a few extra shots per clip which reduces your reload frequencies which in turn means you give Blue Bitch less opportunities to one tap you.
Does spread ammo get dmg boost from Elementless deco? That scope so good for the spread so you can aim for the head properly Oh this HBG build dmg so good you dont even need spare shot skill
depends on the Gun. The gun should not have any elemental ammo types. Elementless deco won't work on Loyal Thunder cause it has thunder ammo. Elementless is also nerfed on iceborne (afaik 10% -> 5% now) so it doesn't matter that much.
@@ThatJuanDude314 i got a couple of level 4 ones mixed with other skills, which is better than nothing, but having the level 3 ones is better sometimes. Not to mention i had to play through the base game for 1000 hours without any :/

And sadly Slice ammo has its damage back, only with lvl 3 crit boost and a weakness exploit lvl 3 on a softened monster part... I got 20's per tick with a HIGH RANK hbg.
@@Qballiz2kool also oddly enough, Zorah hbg is fantastic for that as well. No auto reload sure, however you get a mag of three if I recall, and a recoil down to a 2 with the mods.
Joe Hutchcraft depending on your playstyle the zorah may be better, sticky 3 with full free ammo up has a clip size of 4 and cluster 3 has a clip size of 3 as well on it with the para and sleep having low recoil. although this playstyle is fun it still shouldn't warrant being the only way to play HBG.
@Joe Hutchcraft It also has pretty decent utility because of the sleep 2 and paralysis 2. I used to use the Zorha HBG on the final phase of KT. It was really good.
Zinogre tree. It splits from the Tztzi Ya Ku tree once you make the rarity 9 gun. You need to get materials from the Guiding lands and from investigations and sidequests. I just made this gun tonight (I dont have the max variant but I have the one before this one) and it's amazing. As a heavy bowgun main with over 250+ hours it's my favourite to use
How do you make it make so many spread 3 at a time mid fight? I tried it but it only makes enough for a new clip every time and I have to make it again every reload.
how likely do you think it is that this HBG is going to get nerfed? and how would you do it? I know several have said it but there are builds for this gun with 3 Shield and 5 Guard that trivialize most fights with really fast clear times.

The trailblazer mount is just annoying st times. It's almost not worth calling them cause sometimes they take forever to chase after the monster. Or they get nervous and don't move. The Gastadon is the stupid one of them all. The Jagaras I never have issues with at all.
The bones are from threat level 2 tempered monsters, like nacaruga or legiana, in the guiding lands. Just finshimed Loyal Thunder before I went to sleep yesterday.
This weapon is meant to be a "baby steps" weapon against more dangerous monsters when you don't have the armor augments needed to beat them (basically, use this against T2-3 MR tempered monsters just to safety get the rewards). It's honestly a REALLY boring weapon since it has no flashy moves, no dopamine inducing combos, and no real playstyle variance.

Isn´t it called Divine Blessing? And you can still get elemental Damage/blights with Temporal Mantle which can Proc the Protection Jewels
I absolutely love the new wyvernsnipe mod it's actually really good for wakeups, I pull 1500-2000 damage per wakeup with it and the scope

With this set, you can easily swap the helm with Dober and the waist for Odog, the charm for Razor Sharp, and slot in a Release Jewel and you end up with the same build, but with Free Element 3, Spare Shot, but no Attack 4, Agitator, and lose a level of Crit Boost.
As far as I've tested(not too much) The first build does about 15% more per shot, but you have to reload a lot. The second build did 10% more damage when continuously firing for 1 minute.
I say this a lot but
1000 hrs no guard up or guard gems ever. 50+ jagras\lavas runs. Rng is the enemy. I got a lvl 4 guardian gem and celebrated until I saw it was off guard. Lol

I've done hundreds of these runs in just over a hundred hours of total playtime. 50 runs seems kinda weird for 1,000 hours lol.

Nice, but I rather use guard up + guard lvl 5 and 3 shield mods for super tanky. I don't like scope with spread ammo, makes the game unnatural (like doing something weird, like a glitch for dmg)

don't underestimate them shield mods for hbg. if you aren't good at dodging (or just don't want to) it just takes 3 with some guard to tank supernovas. if you want to be a ranged lance max out your shields with a spare mod and you cant die.

I personally prefer the nergi HBG, its got excellent Normal 3 and Spread 3, plus all status ammos! Definitely worth considering
Normal 3s are definitely viable. While not being as strong as spread, You can still pack quite a punch if you pair it with the scope and ballistics.
you know you do more damage if you adjust the scope closer so you can move closer for critical range. your at max range on your scope doing less damage
Traditionally I don't check complain about comments I see on RUclips or question people's opinions. However, lately I've been seeing a lot of people calling for nerfs on spread HBGs and I have to ask, what do you want for HBGs? The community had issues with cluster bombs, which in my opinion was a far bigger issue, and they did end up getting nerfed. Now the issue is "spread needs to be nerfed." Besides the fact that it's not a pvp game where nerfs are to a large extent pointless spread rarely interrupts other players unlike clusters.
The main issue is that it does too much damage?? I'm genuinely curious what issues players have with the set-up outside of "too much damage." If your opinion is based on the fact that it makes the game too easy I refer back to my prior statement that this is a co-op game not a pvp game, being able finish the hunt faster and cause stuns is a huge benefit and the point of the game. That all being said I don't see Capcom nerfing anything but if they do I wonder what the next issue the community will have with HBGs since they can't seem to catch a break.

That’s how I run mine my dude, you can tank through most stuff and still put out decent dmg. Rather have survivability over dmg especially because you have to stay so close to the monsters you are fighting. (For spread HBG.)

Nice build. I run 3 shield mods, 1close range and 1 recoil with guard 5. Still getting all key skills and spread 2 if you have guard 5 charm. You can block and shoot right after from pretty much all moves that you can block without guard up and still dish out a lot of damage. It takes the high risk out of the spread builds.
Wait are you using 3 shield mods and a guard 5 charm if so you only need 1 shield mod your not getting anything out of the other 2
3 shield mods is way to much. Your just taking away alot of DPS. Only one is needed if you have guard 5
@@chrisbarnesbarnes8332 Its mainly for chip damage. U can go with 1 shield mod and guard 5 but u will take a lot of chip damage. Moves like zinogre roll jump, namielle and seething bazelguese super novas literally does nothing to your hp with 3 shield mods.

@@JimboSlice729 I didn't know that I always just used divine blessing 3 (haven't goting the armor for secret divine blessing yet ) to help with chip dmg but your build might be handy for Savage Jo and Black Diablos I have definitely gone from full health to a quarter health before even having a chance to heal as they can do a lot of attack's in rapid succession. 2000+ hrs and I'm still leaning new things God I love this game.

@@BANDEV89 it's the setup I use. With just the armor set you have lv3 weakness exploit, lv2 crit boost, heat guard, lv2 crit eye, and lv5 guard and if you have the decos you can fill in what else is necessary for the build.

@@dariuslee633 It's not from a particular monster. It's from Tempered monsters in the Guiding Lands. Get one of your areas to level 4 and they'll start showing up. Hunt them there and you'll get what you need.

Would love to see a normal ammo hbg video I have been testing nergi and Luna's heavy bowgun I like nergi for more damage but without any ammo up or a guard up Deco I find it really hard to build for versus luna which dose offer more build diversity to people without certain key decos but definitely would like to see your take on the two
Nerg does more damage via N3 but Luna gives you diversity and comes with its own built in spare shot so no spare shot charm needed I personally go with Luna on solo since N3's KO's easily and while the monsters down hose them down with clusters and then when their up go right back to N3 it's very effective imo especially since you have to build so much raw with Luna just to catch up to nergs gun anyway and clusters are still bonkers and one of my fave ammo types so it's fun lol.
Love the vid tgc been waiting for this review of loyal thunder for awhile now definitely gonna try out this build but if your looking for a tank build I got the same thing going but with guard 5 and 3 shield mods and believe you can tank so much and do really good damage
I made the ultimate defense build with gold rath chest/waist , luna head/arms/legs, the weakness exploit charm and nerg hammer. Maxed out crit eye with decorations and weakness exploit with decorations. The defense is so overkill but its hilarious for guiding lands

People are sleeping on glider mantle. Two level 4 deco slots, 180 uptime 120 downtime. That thing is op as hell. Don’t even need tool specialist either.
I use it for my Hammer build, it's hilariously good.
I use it for my sticky build, the 4 levels I get (+2 levels come from the glider mantle) make my sticky’s with the shara HBG hit for decent numbers when the monster is enraged.
The amount of effort between weapons is insane i might run HBG when i just want to get some easy kills.
This HBG can make even comfier and faster hunts that Clusters would in the base game before the nerf, basically now you can build the crit skills, have health boost 3 and guard 5, which basically makes hunting braindead while dealing A LOT OF DAMAGE ( talking about the DPS of a SAED, except it's all the time ), which makes farming that easier lol
weird, cause I just recently played long sword for the first time and it was way too easy. Killed nergigante solo with only a half decent sword in around 10 minutes without every trying the weapon before. Didn't at any point feel threatened. With HBG I perform about as well, except with 50 or so hours of practice behind me, and I constantly feel like a single slip up could cost me a carting. Evasion is just nonsensically easy with lighter weapons, and you don't even have to time your reloads cause there aren't any. Feels like cheating.

Of course you have to be able to dodge quickly with melee weapons. You literally have to be all up in the monsters hit boxes to do any damage at all... You aren't viewing them from afar able to see exactly what's going on. Nergigante is easy anyway.

The point still remains, sure you can dodge easily with melee... But you've gotta run all back up in their shit and leave yourself vulnerable for predetermined amounts of time based on what move you're wanting to do.. Or you won't do any damage whatsoever. With a bowgun you just slap a shield mod and 5 points of guard on... All you have to do is stop shooting when they get too close, for a split second... The melee classes at least have to hit a button to put their guard up... Along with not doing even a fraction of the damage that a HBG is doing.. Whilst automatically blocking everything...
Oh well. To each his own I guess... I don't play longsword really.. I do have to admit it's one of the easier ones imo. I still think HBG is easier to pick up and wreck with having no prior experience.

This is basically the Meta right now. Only reason some players aren't using it is because they either don't have it, don't like easymode quests, or don't know about it. It will not be nerfed either, Glutton wasn't nerfed, so this won't either.

Ive noticed that with the scope within super crit distance a few bullets start missing the sweet spot compared to non scope, at least thats the case for me. I noticed it even when playing with minds eye, so I wondered if the damage loss because of missing bullets due to super crit distance is worth the trade off for the higher individual pellet damage. You can even see it in your video when he is knocked and a few of your pellets start flying by, entirely missing the sweetspot and therefore hitting for way less. Earlier you consistently hit him for really solid damage due to standing closer to him and not needing to be in super distance. Great vid as usual, but i like the "not live" content better If you know what a I mean with that.
You can change SCD to be closer but then its even worth clowstrofobia(its adjustable)

Gothic Probably never because it’s not as huge of a problem as slicing was. Slicing was just waaaay too strong. Spread isn’t nearly as bad.

Special scope for short range is too try hard. Also fire resistance only goes up 3 levels so 4 is a waste of a jewel slot and the same goes for protection jewels. And the placement of it on the mantles section of the gear isn't beneficial you probably want to go for damage increases if unsure.

dude.. please help me a bit.. after days of farming i finally was able to craft this HBG. It went well in the training room, but when I took it for an actual fight, the dps SUCKS! what is it im doing wrongg??
1. i stacked up a lot of attack jewels until reached level 7 but the damage is still a joke despite the attack reached 472. Instead, was I supposed to stack up on Expert jewels?
2. do we need to do something first, as in like u did, clutch claw and attack him in the head first before spamming spread shots? Is tenderizing some spots required first?
3. must we always hit em in the head? Im having trouble aiming for the head! i dunno how others could simply aim and their shots hit in the head!
4. mods im using are deviation suppressor, 3 shields, scope. Would different mods affect the dps significantly?

I might be 4 months late but due to this being a low deviation hbg it’s probably a lot better to just replace the suppressor with a close range up, and I also recommend you seek out trying to get spread/power shots jewels or greaves

my question is, your refering to clip size alot , how often can you drop 8+ shots into a monster, without it hitting you or dodging/ reloading, basically arguing 8 clip without SS is always more than enough.
I get your point, Spareshot isn't a huge dps increase on Glutton 2.0 but it is the largest single skill increase in dps. Teostra will grant you several opportunities to just ram ammo into his head for example.
Conversely, Something Like Lunastra (assuming you don't run guard HBG, Which I always would because fuck that bitch in MR) has a faster attack tempo meaning you won't need to dump all your clip into her. However you won't always have safe reloading opportunities, and it is here where having spareshot is a nice boost, You get a few extra shots per clip which reduces your reload frequencies which in turn means you give Blue Bitch less opportunities to one tap you.

depends on the Gun. The gun should not have any elemental ammo types. Elementless deco won't work on Loyal Thunder cause it has thunder ammo. Elementless is also nerfed on iceborne (afaik 10% -> 5% now) so it doesn't matter that much.
a bowgun is only affected by elementless if it can't use any elemental ammo types at all
Elementless will not work if the gun can use any elemental ammo, in this case, elementless will not increase any damage as it can carry thunder ammo
If your HBG has any kind of elemental ammo it can’t make use of elementless deco.

They're more common in ib I think. Got 3 combination ones within 200 hours. 1 with fortify and 2 with divine blessing

Joe Hutchcraft Sticky ammo is actually pretty decent DPS because of the auto reload sticky 3’s on the shara Ishvalda HBG.
@@Qballiz2kool also oddly enough, Zorah hbg is fantastic for that as well. No auto reload sure, however you get a mag of three if I recall, and a recoil down to a 2 with the mods.
Joe Hutchcraft depending on your playstyle the zorah may be better, sticky 3 with full free ammo up has a clip size of 4 and cluster 3 has a clip size of 3 as well on it with the para and sleep having low recoil. although this playstyle is fun it still shouldn't warrant being the only way to play HBG.
@Joe Hutchcraft It also has pretty decent utility because of the sleep 2 and paralysis 2. I used to use the Zorha HBG on the final phase of KT. It was really good.

Zinogre tree. It splits from the Tztzi Ya Ku tree once you make the rarity 9 gun. You need to get materials from the Guiding lands and from investigations and sidequests. I just made this gun tonight (I dont have the max variant but I have the one before this one) and it's amazing. As a heavy bowgun main with over 250+ hours it's my favourite to use

There is an option when you add it to your radial menu to craft all or craft one, just pick craft all and you are all set

T2 means threat level 2. It should tell you in a tempered investigation what threat level it is
The trailblazer mount is just annoying st times. It's almost not worth calling them cause sometimes they take forever to chase after the monster. Or they get nervous and don't move. The Gastadon is the stupid one of them all. The Jagaras I never have issues with at all.

This weapon is meant to be a "baby steps" weapon against more dangerous monsters when you don't have the armor augments needed to beat them (basically, use this against T2-3 MR tempered monsters just to safety get the rewards). It's honestly a REALLY boring weapon since it has no flashy moves, no dopamine inducing combos, and no real playstyle variance.
I find it very fun when I tank every single one shot move in the game
