Defensive set, 2 gold rathian (head, waist) 2 black veil val (chest and arms) Yian gruga legs. Use styx HBG and have a guard 5 charm. Damage is not super great but you dont die easily with full crit 7, guard 5, guard up, weakness exploit. To name a few its amazingly fun
Dung Bombs have been a must in my inventory ever since they allowed more then one monster to be in the area/hunt. Glad to see other people catching on lol.
Pods are just a must. Even if you normally don't use them. You keep them for that 1% time where you do need them. Because at that moment you really need them

Pierce actually works wonders on Legiana and any flying monsters. From what I can tell, they have a certain threshold where a certain amount of damage and stun over a short time knocks them out of the air, functioning very similar to a flinch when they do their little dance and a trip when they fall back to the ground. With a normal ammo bowgun you’ll almost never get the knockdown.
I feel like getting "shots on" for constant damage might work with pierce (go for wings). Seems like the overall health isn't much, relative to other monsters, and it compensates with a ton of movement
18:18 Funny to mention that, Doesn't that HBG have sticky ammo as well? If that's the case, in an optimal sense you can switch between stickys and normal for KO to DPS. Which I find absolutely DISGUSTING in a sense of gameplay. It even has WYVERN AMMO, which make it even better
I prefer cartilage blaster III with elementless because it has wyvernsnipe and its much faster to wound parts. I also run it with long barrel and long range attack which does work if you have ballistics on.

If you wallbanged him into it as soon as he got up they could have put him back down again with Team Meowlotov. 18:38 no reason you can't use sticky 3 with This HBG lol.
this HBG is the best looking one, would be great if we could layer weapons too. The Zinogre HBG does not look like a spread gun at all, the barrel is too long.
It looks like it would be perfect for a Pierce 3 or Elemental Build with Wyvernsnipe. Its a damn rail gun ffs Wish there was a subspecies of Zinogre that had a Different color scheme and came with all the element ammo's, highest Pierce 3 and 2 magazines, and wyvernsnipe

This is kinda subjective, the Luna Styx version is weaker but you could build up its raw, and it has more versatility such as sleep and clusters. So yeah the ruinor is good on paper but I think it still varies.
Yeah just built this yesterday for wyvernheart, and boy is it op. Normal and spread are the only thing on this that viable. Also, Would love to see a video on special ammo for the HBG

Yup, works good for me too. After mods I have 80% base affinity and I use 2 max might to get to 100% most time. That way even if you're not hitting weak spots you're still criting all the time.
@@TheGameconomist Sticky HBG at least does make up for it though via clusters/wyvern ammo during KOs/downs. that coupled with the stickies still doing ok DPS and not caring about special scope/critical distance/hitzones makes it the better choice IMO. though some monsters with absurdely high shot hitzone values could be worth it with normal. really hope normal S gets a damage boost to let it fit into its niche
You don't it's not very good.stickys will do about the same plus ko and is not hit zone dependent,spread is spread and pierce is very comfy to play.with normal that one shot has to be in range and on a hit zone or it's bad damage
it's a nice build, but agains't legiana I think it's better a silver rathalos elemental build, I think it's faster and more fun, agains't legiana at least.
I might be in the minority here, but I’m really sad about the direction they’ve gone with in terms of monster design. All these super-fast, flashy, tail-lashing, massive hit-box monsters as well the clutch claw (projectile) play style has heavily skewed gameplay in favor of ranged weapons. I know spread ammo and cluster bomb runs were popular, but now, omg, farming using a melee weapon is SO inefficient, especially with certain monsters ( Black Diablos ??). I would have really loved to see some slower, more punish focused gameplay, but hey that’s the direction they want to head in, so it’s time to chill and go ranged I guess. I’m not really skilled at this game, I play to chill and I don’t mind a learning curve so long as I get to use all the weapons evenly. But 600 damage with one weapon is just BS.
@@LordThatch Yeah I just watched Akantorex's rajang run. But that's only with TCS right? Not a direct clutch claw hit. Not to mention the skill and timing it takes to land a TCS on any monster. While you're so hell bent on landing your best shots with any weapon, sticky ammo makes it far easier to do so with out any strain on your part whatsoever. And from apparently so does a direct clutch claw hit with wyvern snipe. I'm not saying high damage procs with other weapons are not possible, but with ranged weapons it's a lot easier, and in the span of 20 hunts or so, you'd be far better off running a solid ranged build rather than adjusting to each monster's timing, at least in multi-player.
The deck farm isn't fun I have garbage luck I farmed g-ranked tempered bois for at least 300hrs since icebornex drop and not s single tenerizer, spread shot, or pierce deco
This video really shows why normal 3 scoped inst that viable. Its an all or nothing play style that rewards hitting sniper level shots on high moving targets. For about 150 dmg. It's not a great sword level rewards. It's not worth it
I really dont understand this weapon every monster just chases me down the whole time and I spend more time rolling than attacking and when I can attack the dmg just isn't nearly as good as any melee weapon I've used.
This is not the best , it’s only the best because you conveniently posses every decoration to enhance the gun so yeah not sure that qualifies as best. Just the best if you have everything which to be honest no one does.

I made a build around this a few days ago. Called it the Magnum. Cuz it looks and feels like a pistol.
I always mix offencive guard 3 , it's 15% attack and it procs loads. Thank you for your videos helps loads

The raw gap is still massive, It's the same issue that Styx faced against Dark devourer for clusters in the base game.
Special scoop looks awful to use your missing more so the dmg increases isn't great

I made a wyvernsnipe hbg build
Woke up a kuluyaku for 3130 damage (didn't even have a food buff because I carted)
Not sure about if Dung Pods are farm-able but you can definitely meld them for monster parts.

I only use yian lbg, rapid pierce2 on shrieking. Does decent damage even if the part is not wounded and its so easy to clutchclaw him with it.

Serious question, why would pick a Normal shot Bowgun over Sticky, Spread, Pierce or Elemental?
When the monster is hard to shoot with spread or pierce, but easy to shoot with normal. Also Sticky is terrible for damage output from what I can tell

I find tenderizing the biggest part of the monster to be a huge help With heavy bowgun. AIM SMALL MISS ALL.
