I am 57, and I just began stationary bicycling about 2 weeks ago, I purchased a shwin, I started at a level I am comfortable with, ride 20 minutes a day, each week I am going up a level, I could use the programs in the bike, but I just peddle faster for half mile increments, then back to a regular pace, so far it's 5-6 miles a day, had my heart rate up to 160 at times, about 170 calories burned, and at speeds of up to 20 mph, I love it so far, it seems to be helping my knee, that I often experience problems with, I am 6, 1,and 225 lbs, I will let you know in a month or so how I doing, thank you for your video

Most exercise bikes have an adjustable intensity setting. I'm not a personal trainer but I know my legs are generally leaner and less bulky if I use the lower settings (1-6) whereas if i use higher resistance (settings 7-8) it really works the leg muscles. So as I'm not looking to bulk out but rather just lose weight and tone my legs, I focus on doing simple cardio exercises, normally using setting 6 which I feel is a good balance and works up a sweat without working my muscles so much. Make sure you stretch after all your workouts as this can help reduce bulkiness too.

I highly recommend this for anyone who needs to fit exercise into a busy lifestyle, as it saves time and money by not going to a gym, plus you can multi task by watching documentaries or movies at the same time, so instead of that being a separate activity you can get fit while you relax!! (Just don't relax too much..) I'm in my 20s but know loads of old people who use this too, as it's great for mobility, balance, increasing strength and helping joints, as mentioned in the video. A little a day keeps the doctor away!! The other great thing is, most bikes have an adjustable resistance setting so however challenging you want your workout to be, you can simply turn it up or down a notch to respond to your level of fitness. (P.s I knew a 100 year old who used an exercise bike faithfully every day for 20 minutes -apart from at weekends. At 98, he was stooped over and had no energy and had to use a stick to keep his balance. At 100, he walked without the stick, stood almost completely upright and had more energy than most teenagers today!!! Even his personal trainer was amazed. The reason he started was so his daughter wouldn't put him into a care home- and in the end he got his own way, because he was transformed from this dependent, crippled old man to an energetic and mentally sound individual with an excellent posture! The written instructions were great- we didn't need to watch the videos, but it was good knowing that the option was there if we needed it. After we were able to get it set up, the boys each rode 3 miles and I rode 8 and the bike stayed quiet. The display is easy to reset, and you can put it on whichever setting you are using (time, distance, calories, etc). I will say that my butt is a little sore from the seat, but that could be because I haven't rode in a while. While it is comfortable for me, it was not comfortable with the seat position for my friend (could not move the seat back far enough and he slightly looked like a kid riding a tricycle that he had outgrown). He also said that the seat hurt his manly parts. We are going to look for a different seat that will be compatible with this bike for him.I did purchase the Wahoo Cadence sensor and strapped it to the crank of one of the pedals. This will sync with my Apple Watch, iPhone and will import data in to my Health app. Wahoo does have other sensors available other than cadence. I can also keep either my phone or my iPad on the display and they both feel pretty secure.
Maybe u should change ur bike seat. Try to find thick and soft one. If not u can wrap it with towel and tied it with something. Im sure it can make ur butt feel more comfortable not hurt anymore.
