You can do this with literally every plug in the car... Two things to take care
- make sure the wire is inserted well in the grove
- make sure the ground and the power wires are not touching each other

If you put the yellow wire and the gound wire into the same plug, would they be touch each other inside after you plug it back to the light?

They should not, because the plug has a separator in the middle that keeps both the wires away from each other.
