@@StanvilleBrown Only cause it's a Black Panther movie. There is no logic behind the first mutant, who has 500 years of battle experience , has hulk like strength, is faster and can fly and most importantly known to be extremely stubborn to lose let alone yield to a girl who never even been to an actual battle. Shuri is a techie who was Black Panther for less than a day. How on earth she gathered 500 years of battle experience on a single night and beat Namor? The only actual fight that Shuri was in before this was the fight against Killmonger and Killmonger wiped the floor with her in less than 30 seconds. Marvel disrespecting one of the oldest comic book characters like this in the name of diversity while forgetting diversity doesn't mean having a certain group of people win everytime. There are people of all colors and they matter equally. Pathetic!

    • @aeroship2157

@@whiteknight8734 Shuri is 1000x smarter than Namor. She won because of her wits, haven't you watched the movie? She didn't won because of raw strength, it was all her strategies that helped her win. If she didn't take Namor to the desert, he would've won but all odds were against him in that final battle.

@@whiteknight8734 ... Shuri fought in the war against Killmonger, and fought alongside the heroes in Infinity War... before fighting in Wakanda Forever.
She's not Okoye or Ayo, or likely even Nakia when it comes to just fighting, but arguing that she's an utter novice makes no sense.

This movie was DEAD silent in the theater at the beginning at end, other than sounds of crying. Even during the movie the whole audience was super somber, it was a special kind of experience.
Also, Shuri's last line to Namor:
"Vengeance has consumed us. We must not let it consume our people." is clearly meant to echo T'chala from Civil War:
"Vengeance has consumed them. I am done letting it consume me."

Also the movie had lots of references to the real passing of Chadwick, but my favorite, and most heartbreaking line was Shuri saying that T'Challa suffered in silence telling no one he was sick, and when he did, there was nothing she could do. That felt like them talking of how Chadwick hid that he was sick up until his passing. How none of us knew, including his co-stars if i remember right. I doubt they could have done anything, unlike how Shuri might have been able to do something for T'Challa, but still felt like a very real line about the guilt i bet they all unfortunately had when he passed

i think the final scene being Shuri burning the funeral garments, representing the ending of the mourning period, also really works for the end of phase 4 as a whole. A lot of phase 4 has focused on loss and grief, and the different ways different characters deal with it and use it to reinvent themselves. Phase 4 is over now. And so perhaps is the mourning period of all our MCU characters, not just Shuri.

Ramonda asking Shuri if the construct she created gave her “comfort or torment” really stuck with me. I lost my grandmother right before the movie came out and I could definitely relate to Shuri. My family is very religious and took comfort in the belief that her suffering was over and we will see her in the afterlife. I really wish I could feel as sure as they do and experience the same kind of comfort, but there’s always part of me that is skeptical. I appreciate the movie exploring how spirituality or lack of it can effect the grieving process.

It felt damn good as a latina to see this version of Namor. Giving him a mayan heritage and change Atlantis for Talokan was a genious move on Ryan Coogler's part. And he was right, especially when you take into consideration just how long he's been alive and what he witnessed. Watching his people and his land being enslaved and colonized will make anyone ruthless and hard. and still you can see how loved and revered he is by his people. even Shuri respects that. i don't consider him the villain of the movie. he was an antagonist, sure, but the real villains are the CIA and the colonizing powers of the world. Talokan suffered in a way that Wakanda didn't. The people of Wakanda never had to leave their homeland and change everything about their way of life just to escape slavery and subjugation. His methods are extreme but very on par for what you would expect from a 500 year old mayan God who had to protect his people and new home from colonizers. this movie utilizes silence so so well. on so many occasions through this movie, ryan coogler is asking you to sit with things. you sit with silence, you sit with grief. you sit. and it is uncomfortable at times, it's hard at times, but sometimes you have to sit with it. that was shuri's journey to get to that beach at the end. that's why it was so beautiful when she finally allowed herself that moment.
i loved the little moments the most in this. riri saying "to be young gifted and black" something chadwick said while accepting their sag award for best ensemble for black panther. ramonda saying she can feel t'challa; ryan coogler said he felt chadwick's hand on his shoulder during the entire making of this film. shuri echoing t'challa's thoughts about vengeance from civil war. king t'chaka in bp1 saying "a man who has not prepared his children for his death has failed as a father", nakia saying t'challa prepared them for his death. i love these moments the most.
my biggest issue is their decision to kill ramonda. i don't know why it needed to happen. i mean i know but i also don't lol i don't like that shuri and peter have lost literally everything. it's like one loss was fine and needed for growth, but the second loss just feels unfair. shuri losing her mom after losing her brother. peter losing mj and ned after losing aunt may. the happiest avengers are now the most broken. fix my children! or at least let them be friends!

Fantastic and emotional movie. A wonderful tribute to Chadwick Boseman. Loosely translated from Latin, "Imperius Rex!" stands for "Empire King," but it's a stark warning to anyone who dares to challenge Namor's will in the Marvel Universe. Namor is an Anti-Hero. In fact, Namor is often best described as an anti-hero in Marvel Comics. Namor was created by Bill Everett in Marvel Comics #1 in 1939 as an anti-hero who deeply resented the surface world for polluting the oceanic world in which he lived. The music in this film was great. Angela Bassett was excellent, and I hope she wins an Oscar for her performance in Black Panther: Wakanda Forever. In the comics, Namor was also the first mutant introduced in 1939 but was only called a mutant after the introduction of the X-Men in 1963.

Apparently Thunderbolt Ross from Incredible Hulk & Civil War has been recast after William Hurt’s passing. They got Harrison Ford now so I’m predicting he & Val are gonna have pivotal roles in Captain America: New World Order & the Thunderbolts.
I think we’re headed towards Dark Reign with the government taking over & replacing the Avengers with the Thunderbolts. Ross will probably become Red Hulk & fill the Norman Osborn role of becoming U.S. President (there’s a different Secretary of State in this).
In the comics, it takes place after Secret Invasion which is an upcoming Disney+ show so it all adds up. They’re probably gonna come for Wakanda which forces Talokan & the Avengers to come to their defense.
This will be our Civil War-like conflict before the multiversal shit hits the fan in Avengers: The Kang Dynasty & Secret Wars. Those films will force everyone to get back on the same page against the much larger threat-Kang the Conqueror (& possibly Doctor Doom if they follow the comic storyline).

This made me think of my youngest brother. He passed away from Lupus 12 years ago. Also an illness no one could cure. He never got to see most of the MCU movies. He would have loved all of them...mostly.

I will never forget Opening Night of "Black Panther: Wakanda Forever" during the Marvel Studios Intro, I could just hear, sniffling and crying. Rest In Peace Chadwick Boseman. 💙🙏🏼

I loved their tribute to Chadwick. So well done.
One of the many things I liked about the movie was they showed Shuri's vulnerability even as Black Panther. The performances were absolutely perfect, in my opinion.
Also, I couldn't help but notice how many beautiful people were in this film. Sooo much eye candy.
Very authentic reactions from you guys. 👍
