Sick beat and finger drumming! Do you ever sync both 404s and use em together?

ya I do some midi sequencing here and there. Some older videos I would use the MC303 or Novation circuit with the older 404sx. But the new 404 MK2 sequencer update is really good, so im still updating my live sequencing beatset. :) Cheers!

Ive seen these samplers all over, Can you tell me what the use for it is? I currently use an mpc live 2 but ive seen people use the two together. Just curious, i am also new into this world. But overall I like it!

Hi Ryan! Thanks for checking it out! 🙌🔥
Its a good observation, The roland SP series have always been very popular units to pair and complement with other machines such as the MPCs, groove boxes, synthesizers, as well as FXs for DJs. Its a versatile machine with many use cases. The SP machines offer a wide range of nice intuitive FX's and also serves as a multi-fx box, which can be used to manipulate sequences live or a DJset, as well as adding textures to instruments during recording.
Another use case I've also seen friends perform live with the MPC, and switching to the SP to trigger the next beat, while allowing to load the next project on the MPC. (All while doing FX's live on both units)
I tend to use it to chop samples and use it more as an MPC sampler/sequencer.
All that said, The MPC live 2 is a beast, and has come a long ways with all its updates and new plugins and FXs are great. They have the "SP-like" vinyl sim plugin now, which was a big use for the 404 paired with the MPC before.
Hope that helps! All the best with your musical explorations! 🙌

@@Atamone Thankyou for your time explaining in a way that makes sense! That is really interesting though, so in a way there are identical. I've been looking at the Roland sp for a while but I also noticed Boss, wich I recognize as a guitar pedal company made, in what im assuming, there own version as well. But anyway, you earned yourself a sub 🙏

Just out of curiousity, is the second SP being used in the signal chain? Or is it hanging out for the visual?

      Thanks for tuning in. 🙏
The 2nd sp is mainly part of my live set for longer shows. Much like a DJ would use 2 turntables if that makes sense. Ill be performing live at some festivals this summer, it just makes managing and soundchecking a full set easier vs loading projects on stage where every second counts.
That said, yes, its also a very versatile unit, which I of course also run thru the signal + midi chain in my studio, processing and clocking instruments+synths+other drum machines in my studio.
      Cheers! 👊
