Fantastic! Great mix of lo-fi, acid & housey beats, really enjoyed that! Something i've not heard before. I have the mc303, td3 and a model:cycles. Bits i've collected over the years, i'm never used them all together, so looking forward to figuring out how to sync all the midi channels!
I love this set up..very nice how you implemented it. It does take a little time setting up all the user patterns ro allow the MC to rock out like this but you set makes it well worth it in the end. Can't wait to get my(3rd) 303 in the mail so I can pair it up with my ASR-X
thanks so much! 🙏🙏🙏 I appreciate you! Hope the 303's serves you well! im still having tones of fun with it, and always on the look out for another! 🤟🤟✌✌
Dude!!! Nice work, so cool to see someone implementing the MC303 like that, was my first groove KC back in the day, I still have one, not the same one. Keep it up \m/
Nice gear placemat there. I know a lot of thought went in to that for that little of space.. is that one of those ikea record shelves? Always wanted to put my gear on there would save so much room..,
Are we hearing any MC-303 or are u just using it as a sequencer? I've owned every other MC-x0x so I have no idea if the 303 had a similar sequencer to the others (fantastic sequencers & arpeggiators). I suppose its possible the mc-303 could have usable sounds in it but the fat bass must be the TD-3, you've got the JX-03 (lame that its only 4-note polyphony but ok otherwise....) & w the SP I'd see no reason to use the 303's crappy sound generator. But to each his tone. Nice mix.
Hey man! thanks for checking it out! i appreciate it! 🙏🔥🔥 To answer your question; yes, we hear the MC-303 drums, and the 303 style bass is the TD-3 :) Its true the MC303 drum sounds are not very customizable, but i use the 808 or 909 drum sounds. ;) I like the quirky results the drum sequencer gives sometimes, so i still keep the MC around for rainy days. I recently upgraded my SP404 to the MK2, and you're right about the SP's capability to do most of the work for me now. Cheers!
This is a great set, big ups!! Do you connect the iRig keyboard to the MC-303 MIDI-in during the programming process? I have a similar setup using the MC to sequence external gear via its MIDI out channels and I've been having trouble getting a Keystep to play the external stuff when it's connected to the MC, just plays onboard tones still. The 303 can be cryptic, so I wasn't sure if it can actually get along with a MIDI-in keyboard controlling MIDI-out stuff through it. Cheers!
Hi! Thank you for checking it out! I appreciate it! The MC is for sure a little tricky at times. I do not have the Irig Keyboard hooked directly to the MC in this setup. It's actually hooked up to something else off-screen, which eventually makes its way to the MC303 in the midi chain. But I did take the time to try it directly in the MC303 :D I was able to trigger external gear (my sp404) thru the Irigkeys + MC303 by matching the Midi channel on the IrigKeyboard to the same midi channel as the external gear. I think this should work for you if you can change midi channels on your midi keyboard to match your external gear. I remember trying this with a basic Casio keyboard as a midi keyboard, and changing sound presets changed the midi channel selected thru the MC303. (very cool) haha Hope that helps! Cheers!
You have to go in to System and turn on mid-thru on the MC-303 and then you want to turn down the level of the parts in the MC-303 (FUNC-Cutoff for each part you want to turn down) because your Keystep will trigger the external gear *and* the the part you've got selected on the MC-303. You can check my channel for a much longer tutorial on that.
Great setup, im just starting out and struggling to get the MC303 and TD3 working together, ive tried to follow some tutorials but as far as i can get is the 303 kicking off the TD3 pattern and vice versa.
Thank you! i appreciate you tuning in!! 🙏 Its a fun combo for sure! Assuming you want to send the MC303 Midi Out > TD3 Midi in. I believe in the MC303 sends midi clock out by default as long as it plays. You may need to switch the TD3 Midi Clock setting from [INT] or [USB] to > [MIDI] Heres a video I reference back to whenever I need to switch from USB to MIDI Clock on the TD3. ruclips.net/video/cEJbuSH5ckM/видео.html But you can also change these settings much easier and faster with the behringer software on the computer. Hope that helps! Cheers
2:10 i like it 😊
Thank you! 🙏🔥

Just found this jam. Really good stuff.

Thanks so much! truly appreciate it! the model cycles would be fun in a similar setup! should be a great machine to program sequences with the TD3. 🙂

Thanks So much yo! Appreciate it! 🙌
I have this same setup so it’s great to see how the workflow can be used
Nice! its a bit cumbersome to sequence the MC303, but once programmed and sequenced its a lot of fun paired with other gear! Cheers!

Nice man!

@@Atamone thanks much appreciated
@Atamone I changed it to midi, but when I press play on the MC303 it just kicks off the TD3, I must be missing something. Thanks

I don't know... Was playing electronic music since 1996, but now I can say it is boring. Especially this vid. Sorry
Ok,
Hope you are having a nice day man!
