I’m loving how far cameras are coming. I do photography as well so I’d never have a replacement for a DSLR but the way GoPro, DJI and iPhone are going, they’re revolutionising the simpler camera set up for people who don’t want a DSLR abs I love it! Great video bro

I've been recording all of my kitchen videos on my Samsung Galaxy phone and was looking into the GoPro 10 and some DSLRs for replacement..mostly because I wanted to be able to do at least 4k/120 for slow motion.... I was already leaning towards the gopro anyway just because of the cost difference, but WOW... I didn't expect it to be THAT close... also, I'm already using a Rode Wireless go with a nice lav mic, and I have permenant softbox lighting around my kitchen, so I don't have to worry about low light and sound issues. Looks like that GoPro with the media mod is gonna work out fantastic! Thanks for the great video!

I can agree with that, especially with how easy it is to place anywhere (edge of a snowboard, surfer, drone, etc.). But yeah, it’s very hard to let go how quality and reliable the SIII is 💯✔️🔥
Color and dynamic range looking nicer from the gopro in the given examples to me but those are probably rhings you can compensate in post or even different curves in camera. Showing the low light tests at full size would have helped highlight low light differences imo
It definitely feels that way to some degree! As I’ve played around with this concept of replacing a dslr a bit more, I still find myself trying to stay away from it overall, and only use it during very niche moments where I know the GoPro will excel!

The 240 vs 120 but looked at for quality etc. How good the 2K holds up vs 1080 and 4K on pro cameras. Its a few things alot of ppl haven't been talking about but you nailed alot of em for me. Using the 10 as an actual video camera vs a Black Magic 6K or a high end Canon or Sony the results for search on RUclips is so ... 😂 Out side of bokeh and depth of field it seems super capable.

The GoPro can definitely hold its own but it won't take you far when it comes filmmaking as a whole. In that sense , the Sony A7Siii completely outclasses the GPH10 and is leagues above the GoPro! So it really depends on how far you want to take your filmmaking. I would say GoPro if you are a beginner or more of a hobbyist, but the SIII if you plan on taking filmmaking/content creation seriously!
I definitely would stick with the Sony, instead of the GoPro for ,,cinematic,, footage. Don't forget the wide range of lenses and the way more better Image Quality (4k on a small sensor is not the same like 4k on a full frame). For Vlogging and POV Sport I would stick to the GoPro (Supreme Image Stabilization)
It’s hard to tell the difference between the footage when the slides are switched so fast. Slow it down so we can see the difference. Peace and love bro.

go pros are just beast. if they could get the overheating figured out. but image being able to compare a 10000 dollar car to a 120000 dollar car. that's how much of a difference it is. and it still can beat and match in most areas. wow
That’s the gopro in the “wide” lens which does have a little warp, my room made it obvious, but you would just change that to the “linear” lens if you wanted a flatter look. Though you will be cropped in a bit more!
I would say you can definitely mix gopro and camera footage together in the same timeline, but to hide any sort of difference, either shoot on the flat lens profile for the gopro or tastefully string the different clips from the two together! 💯✔️🔥
Ye man, iv been asking this an no one knows.. I currently use gopro 11 5.3k 4:3 30fps recording me busking for 3 hours non stop connected to a power bank... i have a gh5, of course 4k footage is way better altho the 9mm lens isnt wide enough , gopro way wider nd smaller well i was going to upgrade to sony a74 but the go pro being so small for travel is perfect and wider lens and wide 4:3 is more flexable for tictok nd youtube.. My question is; is there such thing as a sports cam like gopro but with a sensor like a dslr, mostly cos even when i digitally zoom with 5.3k go pro it gets blurry quick😒, whereas dslr 4k can crop in with no quality lost..... So like a gopro 11 with a dslr sensor wod be PERFECT... maybe they dont exsist? Maybe the gopro 20 will be that? I just wish they make 4k the same as dslr instead of going to gimic poo 5.3k then 6k 8k and those gimic numbers still wont be as good as dslr 4k
Unfortunately, as far as I know, there isn’t an action camera that has the sensor capabilities of a full blown dslr. But I’m my experience the GPH10 is still pretty good. Nothing I wouldn’t be using. Hopefully in the near future they create the camera tech that you’re talking about 💯✔️🔥

I’ve never had an overheating problem, but I do agree, depending on the use case, you can pretty easily switch between a gopro or a mirrorless camera!

At 4:55 the gopro gives that warped look like your in a fish bowl. Is that a setting you can turn off? How would the room look then?

GoPro is better because it is waterproof better stabilization and it’s 500$
