Could it be the fact that the telesin batteries are rounded, that they let out some of the heat from the camera?

Now I’m on GP10 and had only used original batteries but the charge will vary from time to time

    Liked! I was already subscribed.
The thing about the battery staying a long time at 1% must have to do with the prevision algorythm gopro uses to calculate te consumption at a given resolution/framerate.
You can see that they are a lot different across resolutions/tps and a WHOLE LOT if you turn to photo.. try it :) just allow say to reach 10% with 5.3k/60 and then switch to photo....

It's good to see these videos back, I didn't care much for the looonnnger streaming series you did. When you get rather unexpected results like you did. there is usually some interesting underlying reason, like you suggested, maybe the GoPro batt's feedback the batt tamp to the camera and Telesin's don't (I like you just speculating)

I used Telesin batteries on my GoPro 6. I’ve just bought my 11 so I’m excited to see what’s the best. Not really a good test. Although the conditions were the same for all 3 batteries, you had it on 4K 60fps in activity mode. That’s why it overheated. (I know you know this) but new people to GoPro will think batteries only last 30-40 mins. I went out for a run in highest quality/Pro controls, 1080 50fps with horizon lock/smooth and enduro battery lasted 1.5hours

GoPro Enduro battery is the best for me. Hands down. I can get about 1 hour and 15 minutes out of one Enduro battery. Plus they work in freezing cold weather. The regular GoPro battery lasts maybe 1/3 that long and fails repeatedly in weather below 50 degrees. They are terrible to be honest.. Ive had the blue Telesin batterys as well and my GoPro doesnt even recognize them anymore. I had to throw them away.
In my book, Gopro Enduros are the answer. I have 3 and could not be happier with how they perform.

If you really want to see how long either battery will last vs the other set the resolution to 1080/30 or something so the camera or battery doesn’t overheat. 4k 60 is going to cause more heat across the board from the sensor to the battery.

Out of 5 Telesin batteries 4 have done this. I've used other brands with no issues. Needless to say, I will not be buying them again. @@roninr8199 I believe what they mean is that due to GoPro caring more about you not being frustrated with your battery being on 50% when you want to use it, rather than you getting the best possible lifetime for your battery, they don't include a "storage mode" on their chargers (which discharges/charges the battery to 50%, at which it ages a LOT slower than on percentages father away, like 100%).
This means that GoPro batteries are kept on the shelf at 100% charge for way longer than they should, which makes them age faster and bloat.

While it's normally good practice to compare things under the same conditions, I don't think it's fair to compare the Enduro battery to the others. The Enduro is specifically meant for different environmental conditions.
I suspect the overheating issues have to do with current drain. I suggest repeating the test (without the Enduro) at higher and lower resolutions and frame rates. My hypothesis is that at lower settings, the GoPro battery will outperform the Telesin. The GoPro battery had more power remaining in your test but couldn't make full use of it because of heat; if the camera isn't working as hard the GoPro battery shouldn't overheat as quickly, allowing it to run out. I'd be very interested to know how they perform at maximum settings though. It seems like the Telesin would win the day there.

Also he is blocking the bottom of the camera, so it does not dissipate heat as much as it could. Telesin battery does have some gap there due to the shape, not sure if that helped. Still even on normal situations you would have your gopro on a stick. Other thing too is that usually gopro is used outside where there is some air currents going around the camera. People hardly use them stationary + max vid recording, but for timelapse yes, but it heats the camera less than video.

good point.. maybe repeat the test with the gopro on a stick with a fan..

I have several Telesin products. They are excellent. But for GoPro, I will stick with the Enduro batteries. I’m not saying Telesin products are knock off cheap because they are not, but I learned my lesson going with non-GoPro branded batteries. I can’t tell you how many times I lost some great footage due to poor battery performance using cheap Amazon bought batteries. Never again

I just received my Telesin 12 GoPro battery for my hero 10 camera and it wouldn't accept a charge. Not sure what's going on with that, Hoping that Telesin sends another or refunds my payment. Also got a few other items from them that are fine.

weird. i wonder if there is something with the 12 battery design that doesnt work with older batteries... if its a problem with the battery, telesin has great service to refund or replace it.

It won't accept a charge while in the camera and won't take a charge in a 3 place charger while the other 2 batteries will. Go figure?@@DannyBlack

My experience is Telesin's customer service is abysmal. They responded with an email asking for pictures of the battery and the charger I'm using, (Which works on my other batteries), and then nothing. After numerous emails, they just disappeared. I would not do business with this company.@@DannyBlack

why did you not use something like a desk fan to stop them overheating, the battery life test is pointless if they cut out part way through.
