Great video. I would have never guessed that it was filmed with a GoPro. A quick side note, you can take the battery out, plug the usb into an outlet or a portable power bank and run the GoPro for hours and it stays cool in any environment..
@@amycreighton my new camera overheats and shuts down while I am videoing. I have the media mod on it, I will figure something out, I really don't want to return it. This overheating sucks..
Just 30 seconds in and this video is already one of the most helpful. It’s clear that MOST people reviewing the GoPro are not professional photogs. So much footage is stuttery or not the correct resolution, likely botched in editing or not properly exposed. This is actually giving me a true idea of what’s possible!
You won't believe how many videos I had to go through just looking for an answer to whether I could use an action camera for a talking head video or not before coming across your video 🥹 and trust me when I say that you've done amazing with this video. I have never felt like doing the liking, commenting and subscribing from the bottom of my heart on any video like this. And I'm happy to gladly do it today! Cheers to more wins and more virtual hugs cos this is definitely one🎉
Ahhhh Thank you so much for posting this video!!! I filtered through so many of these videos, and couldn't find one where they were actually testing the product. You're a godsend!
Just starting to use my new GP 10. Truly enjoyed your confirmation for using it as a studio camera. Would enjoy understanding your settings offer! Thanks so much!!
Hello, What type of tripod are you using and what are the accessories ?. It looks pretty good how you setup the GoPro and Sony camera in the same tripod.
Thank you for sharing this video. I'm using a GoPro to film indoors on machines, but my footage is all suddenly turned blurry. Can you please share your settings - ISO, shutter, filming mode, resolution and frame rate?
Subscribed... love the way you went through this. I had been using my GoPro 8 as a studio camera for a while, and I like the way it works, I can even plug a mic mixer into the dongle and get professional mics into it... yet, with technology today, I have a number of wireless microphones that I can also connect to the go pro, because their receiver has the ability to use a TRS cable to plug into thee dongle as well. Great video! (by the way, two years after your upload!)
I’d be interested to know what settings you used for filming in the studio, as well as the colour grade. Colour grading is something I struggle with. Thanks for the video, it was very well-made and helpful!
🎉 thank you finally someone that is using the GoPro for the podcast show while they explain about using it and letting us know right off the bat so you have my thumbs up and subscription just for that simple reason not making me go through 20 minutes of a video to find out that you're not even using the camera😊
Thank you so much for creating this!! I've spent so many hours trying to figure out whether I should buy a GoPro or Sony ZV1, or both -- but now I think I'll be set on just the GoPro with a macro lens and external mic :) liked and subbed to your channel!
@ Amy Creighton Thank you very much well done job, many people take you through a ton of crap with clickbait titles and tell everything you don't want to know and have little to say about what you want to know. You, however, did an awesome job and your video was very helpful and to the point.
Re: 5:40 Can you make a video about that topic? I'd be the first to watch it as I'm still learning about what's best tru trail and error and definitely could use some pointers to speed up that learning process. I don't mess with settings though after I've set my settings up once. Reason being I run and gun and have no time to fiddle with settings in between shots. But still in regards to lighting situations outside - I definitely notice there's a learning curve to understanding from what angle to best film to get well lit shots. These are the notes I took so far, based on my experience and what I shoot (street interviews): Always be aware of the sun's position Film with the sun behind the camera when possible If you do film against the sun, avoid large bright sky If filming in shade, avoid bright background buildings or sky Those notes are mostly to avoid shots where the people I interview are heavily underexposed.
Yeah the GoPro Hero 10 is an extremely versatile little cam / vid recorder - for ~ $400 it's quite a bargain and shows you really don't need to spend thousands to produce high quality content. The iPad Mini 6 in my opinion is another great example of a small device that packs a TON of versatility for not a TON of money invested. If you're wise you can save a lot of money and still achieve the results you desire.
New Subscriber! Loving your vids - Also Love V8s - What you running yours in? Ive been teetering on buying a GoPro for a while, and after watching this I think I may plump for one. Thanks for your great channel!
Great video, really informative and I love the way you explain things by making it simple and easy to understand. Keep up the good work. Highly underrated channel
Thanks for the informative video. I have a GoPro I’m thinking about using as a studio camera for talking head style videos. You make it look really nice.
Thank you so much for this. I love it and the advice and information and the work you have put in. New Subscriber and fan!! I am waiting for my gopro 10 to arrive and super excited. 🙏🏾😁
This might be a year old, but I found it very useful. I'm using a GoPro Hero 10 as my vlogging camera. Still a small creator and working things out! Liked and Subscribed.
I have been searching for this video and it didn't show up, then I stopped searching. The next time I opened RUclips, it appeared and gave me back every imaginable answer I could get.
Sharpness of the GoPro is impressive if you want that. But you could probably dial in the same with the A7Siii I suppose or apply sharpening in post. But the change in color at 1:41was noticeable even before you said it. A bit too yellow-ish for my taste. Do you like it?
I think the GoPro outside as a vlogging camera is outstanding. I prefer the Sony inside, but if someone was on a real budget this could really work for them!
G’day Amy! I’m a new subscriber and I’m really glad I found your channel. Your contents are amazing. Could you tell me where you got your macro lens from? Much appreciated. Cheers!😊
I’ve had my gp10 for a couple of years now, mostly using it to film family bike rides. I’m going to try and film some indoor guitar content for my channel, which has been filmed with budget mirrorless cameras from Panasonic and Sony for the past couple of years. Hopefully (with my lighting rig), I should see some positive results 🤞
Hi Amy, I enjoyed your overview of the use of a GoPro Hero 10 as an in-studio camera. For my Channel I almost exclusively use a GoPro Hero 9 for all narration and some hiking vids. I use the Max Lens and love its ultra image stability and horizontal leveling capabilities. I also use the Media Mod every time but have recently purchased the DJI Mic set to record my narrations which I now use instead of the Media Mod mic for narration. I am really leaning towards the DJI Mic system now because the GoPro's Media Mod mic does pic up more than I want like traffic, etc. So I was pleased to see your use of the GoPro in-studio. I don't record much indoors myself but it's good to know of its image quality for that purpose. Well done. Thank you!
Is this the same as using the GoPro on a video chat (such as using Riverside for an streaming interview?). Or do I have to use the GoPro webcam app for that? Note: We have a GP and a MacBook Pro.
Do you think gopro hero 12 creator edition can be used for making interviews of people after a conference/meeting ? With the media mod and microphone of hero 12 creator edition or with the Rode Wireless GO II installed ?
Great video, Thanks. What do you think about using Gopro for timelapse making of drawing? or video about drawing process? Is it ok with quality, focus and lens distortion? Thank you
Thanks so much! The GoPro is brilliant at Timelapse’s! Just have to make sure you give it enough light! And don’t shoot on ultra wide! Shoot on wide or even narrow! 😅
Great video. I would have never guessed that it was filmed with a GoPro. A quick side note, you can take the battery out, plug the usb into an outlet or a portable power bank and run the GoPro for hours and it stays cool in any environment..

Yes this is true! You can also get a replacement door for it as well so you dont have to keep the side door open!

What settings for studio GoPro?
Great info! I just picked up a Hero 11 with the intent to use it for vlogging...glad to see how well the 10 performs for you.
You broke this down amazingly. One question though, did you change any settings to get this display? If so what did you change?
