And to be honest THAT isn’t even 💯 accurate. So it won’t become a 24mm, but it will give you a 24mm field of view. It’s still a 16mm (meaning it will LOOK different from an actual 24mm). So we were both a little off. Thanks for pointing this out tho, this video was made a few years ago
What do you think of the 56nm f1 4 . I had it for my a6600 and will receive my a7s iii. Have you tried it or tried a similar apsc lens with such focal length before?
Content is so fire bro. Quality next level, been blogging for a min myself, do you do something like paid one on one over ft or something? I’m tryna get on your level
But... If you snatch the 24mm G master... do you still need the Sigma 16mm? We only shoot video for my Family channel... so I'm considering getting a better zoom than the kit lens or the 85mm... any suggestions? and check us out!
Great vid man! Just got my A7C and looks like I can’t beat this quality and price for a primarily video lens. Question: Have you heard of the new Samyang AF 24 mm F1.8, $550, wondering if this one might be more worth it directly for full frame?
Uhh...10 megapixels isn’t why I purchased an A7RIV to begin with (61mp down to 20 something, in my case). Thanks for the heads up, though. I wasn’t aware this was for ap-c.
Happy I found your channel!!Do you need an adapter for the A7iii? Shooting dance videos for my daughter. I am so close to buying the 24GM but if this will give me what I need, I rather buy this and the 135 GM for portraits. Thoughts?
Nope. Honestly for video there isn't a huge difference. It looks just as good as the GM ... Just the GM can gather a tad more light than the Sigma. Now photos is a different story. But if you are only looking for a cheap great quality video lens with fast silent focusing and a shallow aperture, it's a great buy. I'd go with the sigma 16mm for videos and then grab the 135 if I had the choice. I also have a video on my channel comparing the Sigma 16mm vs the 24mm GM. Here is the link ruclips.net/video/zw0v9AESyq8/видео.html
I just got a a7iii I think I messed up I should've got the a6400 or a6500 and got more lenses I just have my kit lens and scared to spend my little money left on the wrong lens this is stressful
Id depends. The a6600 is a REALLY good camera. I'm very curious about the upcoming sony cams but remember they are gonna be 600-700 bucks more expensive than the a6600. The A7iii is also still an absolute beast also! Really just need to decide if you want to go crop or full frame (both have their advantages)

*this answered my Question lmao. I wasn't sure what the equivalent Focal Length was for my Sigma 16mm. But I wanted to see what to see what it would look like on a FF whether it was the Song A7III or the A7C, Now I know what it will look like on this, Just gotta figure out which camera to use lmao *
Hi, how about try to use the full sensor of the camera (which you will experience vignetting), but use clear image zoom in video to remove the vignetting? Theoratically that would mean, you still retain your 1.4F and work on 16mm (which is cropped in to say 20mm to reduce the vignetting). Effectively making it 20mm f1.4? Haha just a random guess....
Pretty sure aperture doesn't work that way when you're using a crop lens on a full frame sensor. You can easily see that the dof if much more shallow on full frame even though it's an apsc lens.
Works amazing! Only time it struggles are if you are inside the minimum focus distance which every lens will, or if you are shooting into harsh lighting, which again, any lens will . Thanks for watching!
Subscribed man! I have a question, if i use 16 1.4 in my a7iii, you said its boarding enough for even 4k (9MP), so i guess it will not affect the video quality except for the vignetting on the corner right?
hey man, im comin from the future december 2024 xD anyway you did use the gimbal on this shooting walking video right ? just guessin, because it sounds not possible the sigma could do this kind of smooth video movement. just need a validation haha thanks!
Thanks for the vid man. I just returned an a7iii cause the lenses were so expensive. But I have the 16mm I use with my a6300. I kinda want the a7iii again lol. What you think of the Sony fe28mm f2?
The Fe 28mm is a great full frame budget offering. Will give you a similar look of the Sigma 16 on the a7iii (the equivalent field of view of the 16mm in crop mode on the a7iii is about 24mm F2). The difference is the 28mm is gonna be a little more punched in as it is 28mm. Also, you get the advantage of it being full frame when taking pictures.
Appreciate the video, and your thoughts on the sigma 16mm. I own the lens, and use it when I can for portraiture work cause it gives a different perspective. You're so right about the fact that not many care what lens you have attached to your camera, but the finished product. I own the Sony a7riii, and a6000. Im content. Thanks again.
Hi Terry, I'm upgrading from an a6000 to an a7iii and I was wondering... does the sigma 16mm fit on a the a7iii on a gimbal? With the a6000, the body was so short that the sigma lens actually hung over the bottom of the camera, meaning I had to buy an L plate to raise the camera up so i could put it on my gimbal. Thanks hope you're good 👊
I use the 16mm on my a6500, its my favorite lens...looking into the a7iii or whatever so has next. I’m glad it looks good on the a7iii! Saves me money.
Awesome. I made this video for people like you because when I was wondering about this same thing, I couldn't find any videos on the A7iii + 16mm. I'm glad this video helped!!

You still can film 4k with crop lens by using clear image zoom with aps-c detection off and also manually adjust amount of zoom/crop factor. It causes quality loss but not really hard.
Thank You very much for this review. I am considering a Sony A7R IV, my good old Sigma 16mm 1.4 will still have 25MP on that beast, won't have that full frame dynamic range but at least I can use my APSC lenses for photography also. Keep up the good work Sir.
Yeah man either on the a6x or a7x cams it's a beast! Tho it's limited on the a7x cams tho. I still use it all the time on my a6300! Thanks for coming thru bro

Brother...as a professional photographer you're dead wrong. 10mp is too low for large prints. If you disable crop sensor mode, and use clear image zoom (NO DIGITAL), you'll get the FULL resolution your camera offers. Just zoom in until the crop goes away. Haha just a random guess....
They say the aperture is also affected by crop factor
...so at 20mm equivalent , its 1.25 crop factor and hence 1.75F aperture effectively
in theory that sounds plausible haha. But it won't work that way. Also you'd still need to multiply the aperture value times the crop factor
correct. but sony crop factor is 1.5x. So you would be at an f2
Pretty sure aperture doesn't work that way when you're using a crop lens on a full frame sensor. You can easily see that the dof if much more shallow on full frame even though it's an apsc lens.
