That last photo with the contrast of the trees and the buildings is amazing! Thank you for such a simple and easy approach really helps my dumb brain understand!
Simple straightforward - no hype instruction. Your honest simplicity is moat appealing. I now got am much clearer about when to use my Sigma 16mm lens and when not to use it. Thank you. .
Really good video pro, when I just got this lens I constantly made that mistake of shooting from a distance, this lens challenges you to shoot but it's so rewarding when you get it right.
Thanks for this so much. We just got this lense but know nothing about how to properly use it haha. We want to use it for vlogging so my question is when you're on the go an moving/holding it (on a gimbal of course) how do you keep it focused? it continues to blur and then autofocus and it's quite annoying. Is there a way to turn off the blur background? Sorry for the 210000 questions but any help would be appreciated. Thank you again!
Thank you bro. I actually shot with a sigma 166mm but at f1.8 and 6. I fell like I could have gotten closer to the subject so, thank you for your words of wisdom dude.
Thank you Sam, i have a 16 mm with a a6400 and i have been struggling to use this lens effectively. At first i blamed the lens but thanks to your video i have improved alot. Subscribed!!
You are an inspiration to us newbies. Thank you for such a relevant video. I bought this lens, and now I feel that I just got a free course on how to use it effectively.
Thank you for making this video! I’m just getting back into using a camera (what we used to call 35mm) and I also received this lens. I appreciate the information and the way you presented it with examples.
Does anyone know why my sigma 16mm f1.4 with a6400 can auto focus close, but not back far when I move the object or myself back to the original spot? I tried AFC wide and a few other modes and potential fixes to no avail. If anybody knows the exact issue let me know!
@Sousea use a smaller aperture but the problem with that is that you have to have enough light available because you're really closing the aperture down
For the camera I currently own, there's no S&Q Settings because it's an older model already. But I'm planning to do a video about the settings of my camera when I record a video!!
Najmie Ahmat on the 6400 it is best to set the camera manually to 120 fps. The S&Q setting has a loss in quality, I set option 2 on the dial to shoot 120
I’m gonna try this. I have an a6600 and I’ve tried everything and my photos are not crisp. I used this and the sigma 55 mm. The 55 is crisp the sigma 16mm is not. Maybe I haven’t stared close then move back. I was thinking that it is the lens. But I will try everything at this point.
I was choosing between sigma 16mm f1.4 and Sony 20mm f2.8 (200 sgd & 500 grams less). I ended up with the Sigma but shoots at 2.8 mostly, too. Haiya. 😅
I have the same lens but I struggle with getting crispy clear photos. Mainly got fashion photography where I want the subject and background clear. I have the Sony 6400. I don’t know if it’s a focus issue in my settings or something els 😫
Hello sir . Want a suggestion from U.... I jst started making travelling videos nd bought sony a6400 with 18-135 lens.... So should I buy sigma 16 mm f1.4 ... Or should I get a action camera .. what should I buy first MY BUDGET IS TIGHT so I can only buy any one for now
go for 16mm ... if you record action videos then its difficult to use mirrorless or dslr camera. but if you want the cinematic feel, go for 16mm f1.4... you are having the best autofous camera. crush it with sigma.
Very nice, thank you for this. Can I ask, did you use ND filters for any of this video? I am about to purchase the A6400 with this lens and concerned video may be blown out by the lack of an inbuilt ND filter. My videos are mainly outside in landscape areas
@@samhannqi2499 thank you Sam, last question would you please share which filter you used? Brand, variable or if fixed which stops did you purchase? I’d hate to ruin footage with a poor filter
Be aware that on the 6000 series, the field of view is cropped in by a 1.5X factor. so the 16mm LOOKS like a 24mm, on a full frame camera. So it's wide on the a6000, but not THAT wide.
Uhhh... there's a whole lot of things about videos. The frame rates, shutter affects too. I'll be making a video on how I take videos on my a6000 soon!!

Cant believe you are so underated man, thanks for this beautiful tips
What a underrated video ! Very well done ! I never imagine it’s has been recorded with a a6000

Yooo brother, I'm really happy to see someone got value from the video. Really appreciate your comment!!
Hey! I have a6400 and about to buy 16mm...plez tell me can we use the lens at f/1.4? Or f/2.1?
@@landmine8206 Hi, yes, don't worry about the aperture. It goes down to F1.4, 1.6, 1.7, 2.0, 2.2 ... until F16. It depends on what you want to shoot.
@@samhannqi2499 thank you very much!
Sam Hann Qi can someone dumb this down to me? What does F1.4, 1.6 ect mean?
Incredible video! I'm absolutely shocked that you weren't a bigger channel haha
Yooo I need your luts please

I love the colors! Do you use some kind of lens filter in this video?
Thanks for tips! Just got his lens. So excited to try it.
Wow doc
Good job on the video! Here are two more tips: Variable ND filter + polarizing filter .. ND will allow you to shoot wide open in bright daylight.
Thank you, was very helpful 🙏🏻 just purchased sigma 16mm f1.4

Which nd filters will you recommend for videos?
Thank you
Heyyyy so I just got this exact camera and lens and haven’t liked it much until this video

I got my great shot with this lens, and the results is fantastic at my new video test, all footage filmed with Sony A6400 +sigma 16mm with Cine4 PP.
planning to get this lens with my a6000 and I also realised you use Sony ECM-GZ1M as your mic. I didnt expect it will perform this good outdoors tho.
I've just order the 30mm 1.4 and am thinking get the 16mm too. For the moment am using the Rokinon 12mm and Minolta 50mm .
best lens video i have ever seen, wow!
