como te fue , por que yo estoy al contrario tuyo, tengo sony a 6500 con un sigma 30 mm que son espectaculares, pero quiero comprar el 16mm por que es mas gran angular , pero no se que tan gran angular sea, ayúdame por favor
What is your thoughts on sharpness. I bought both and have been disgusted with the sharpness of the 16mm taking photos and really of both. The 30mm is way more sharp taking say indoor photos of family 2-20 feet away at all equal settings. And neither is anywhere near as sharp as the standard kit lens on nikon d7500
I am ready to purchase the 6500 but struggling with lens choices. I am not a pro and like to take family, holiday, travel photos. Looking at the kit lens for size and convenience, the Sigma 30mm for portraits and street photography. Trying to decide between the Sigma 19mm or the Sony 18-105. Longer lens would be nice, but is pricey and looks heavy. I l also like the Sigma 16mm but budget is tightening up. I am photo oriented, very little video. Thoughts about a starter lens set for travel and general family photos?
Hi Don ... Just a little quick personal recommendation... Try finding a used 19 mm 2.8 sigma on eBay or something like that...it's not uncommon to find one coming in at $100 or even a little bit less... I got one in mint condition off of eBay for $101 shipped but I just seen locally on classified ads that there's one in this area for like $80. Money very well spent... good luck and enjoy that 6500 if you get it
Thanks for this! I am dead set on the 30mm now. I'll keep my kit lens for when I need a wider FOV but I much prefer the "normal" equivalence of about 45mm. Bee using a 50mm Canon FD and while I love it, it's too narrow on an APS-C and I sometimes miss AF.
You sold me! This is the exact comparison video I was looking for. I have the 16mm with my sony a6000 that I got for general overall photos but now with a second babe on the way I want something better for portraits and child shots! Thanks so much for this video and the explanations.
I need a 30mm lens as good as the Sigma 16mm. What if I get the 16mm and clear image zoom to 32mm? I'd have a more versatile 16-32mm f1.4 lens. Is that actually that simple in real world results?

Should you get these lenses if you dont have IBIS on a6300? i've heard that you're better off getting the sony 35
You certainly can! You just gotta decide what’s more important to you: image quality or IBIS
I was wondering between the 16mm f1.4 or the 18-35mm f1.8, which one would you recommend?
Could you compare the GH5 to the a7r iii for video?
That's definitely a possibility!
I already have the 16-70 f4! Should i get the the 16 1.4? Or the 30 1.4?
Get the Sigma 30mm! You already have the 16-70mm!
Great examples, exactly what I was looking for! Thanks for doing that!
Glad this was helpful!!
Good test! Liked seeing the different capabilities. I have a Sony 10-18mm F4 which is SUCH a cool lens in good lighting but I've been getting a lot of noise using it inside. Think I could afford both these if I sold the Sony. Hmmmm...
Yeah, the f/4 goes against you in low light!
for real!! Thanks, buddy. You're up early... or you're still in England?! Have a good day!
Nah. Back home in the states
Hello please, I like to shoot automotive and bus photography. Which lens will fit my style more?
Probably the Sigma 16mm!
awesome video! helped me decide which lens to choose between the 2 and love the bg music
Hey, I just posted a short test of the 16mm and 30mm in low light, you should watch!
Is it better the Sigma 16mm 1.4 or 30mm 1.4 for music videos?
Thanks! I'm going with the 16mm
Awesome!
Since the sigma 16mm f1.4 is sony e-mount , is it possible to use it for canon efs camera with any adapter? And will the original quality of both lenses and camera be affected?
I don’t know, haven’t tried it
