I remember I had a friend who may not have been conventionally attractive. It's interesting because I didn't notice it then. When you like someone, you don't notice those things. I tried to understand where his problem was and why others didn't give him any chances that I did. I guess knowing someone since grade school makes you face blind. Not anymore.
Believe it or not even grown ups do this too. Social media has warped our minds.
I've always had this same view amongst my friends, i guess theres way too many things worth more than pure appearance in friendships.

agree as a fellow ugly guy i can relate , so many times i have been treated harshly because of my looks , when i go to stores to buy stuff the cashier is always rude to me meanwhile other customers get good treatment , it looks like i am some sort of criminal just because i was born ugly which i had nothing to do with , i didnt wanted to be born one bad decision by my parents and i was brought to this stupid selfish world

The real tragedy is Nathan isn't aware how good he actually has it in highschool. He has a small group of loyal friends who seem to genuinely care about helping him change. Most people don't get that.

Like, people nowadays would call some bloke who they go to school/uni/work with and maybe drink a round of beers or two & play videogames a "Friend". These aren't friends, these are your drinking buddies that won't commit and will ditch you the moment you need them. True friendship is hard to find, your best shot at it in adulthood is ironically to go to war and your brothers in arms become friends if you survive, or do some dangerous communal stuff, like alpinism or smth.

I’m tired of being ugly. I’m always sad, angry, and hurt. Hurt of the way I’ve been treated for something I can’t control. I’m just so exhausted and I can’t wait to die. Yeah. I'm 62, Mom is 86 and really, she's fantastic. Not complaining or clingy or anything: she still lives independently and I have my own home and just finished a fantastic career. The week after I retired, I went to see her and we talked about how all I did was work; she let slip that she had always wished for grandchildren from me...I just changed the subject. She thinks I would be able to attract a women. I never admitted to her what she can't see: I am a profoundly ugly man. My entire life, I've asked countless women out and never succeeded. After 50, I just gave it up.

I'm not the most beautiful, but I know my ego. I know my strenghts and my weaknesses and I play with them. I'm very honest and it makes people laugh, I know I can make girls laugh, and a lot. I was purchasing a suit this afternoon because my best friend is getting married next month, and I started to speak with the cashier, a nice girl and I was joking about myself, my weight (I'm not fat but I have 5/6 kilos I could get rid of) and my short height and it made her burst in laughters. I'm pretty sure I could've asked her number if I were alone, which I wasn't (with the lads picking suits).
They like men who are honest with themselves without turning into a "me me me" show. A slight change of attitude is the beginning. Nathan overthinks way too much. He can't even appreciate when his friends try to make him feel better, he doesn't commit one bit and makes no effort whatsoever to blend in. He needs to find something special, his strength, and become the best at it.
I myself am very knowledgeable in language, literature and other stuff like history. I am to be teacher a in English, well I'm not bragging about when my friends are around but they always need me or think of me when there is something to translate from English to French, whenever there is a foreigner and I'm the only one to do the talking when we go abroad etc etc. I'm full of wit and when I speak, which is not all the damn time, it's funny, sharp and witty. Always makes an effect, even my colleagues find it very relevant.
And still I'm single. Just enjoy yourself and you'll find someone who will find your company and your personality pleasant and attractive, that's how the average and less than average looking people (should) do.
I like who I am and who I've become, with my (many) losses, failures but also wins sometimes. Nathan doesn't know shit about himself, he doesn't know what he likes to eat, drink or wear. He projects his insecurities and self hatred onto others, which, coincidentally, makes him less appealing due to his aura of negativity. And I know many things about negativity, I used to be Nathan at some point in my 20's. That guy is dead now, I got rid of him for good and I respect myself now and forever.

One would need too many grafts and probably wont have enough in his donor area for good coverage, not to mention that it will be extremely expensive if you want it to look good (cheap HTs are a meme and they always look bad/ botched).
Even if it's not aggressive and progressed too far, in the case of a HT, the newly transplanted hair is safe (not actually, but hey) and the donor area too, but all the other hair continues to miniaturize. You will always need another transplant after that and eventually run out of donor hair.
You need to either 1. get lucky and have your hair stabilize at some point or 2. get on meds that stabilize and even regrow (you can take them to prevent balding in the first place, but the DHT blockers are risky for younger people like the character in this video).
I'm just writing this so people know this issue cannot be solved by just getting a HT. Probably the vast majority of people think "just go to Turkey bro". Then they also think people like the character in these videos have agency over their situation, when the truth is they are entirely at the mercy of their genes/ luck (if they can stabilize and not need further transplants or have enough donor hair to cover their end progression). Wigs, hair systems and SMP are an option tho.

I remember in HS this girl who was a part of my general friend group told me that her friend like heard some video I was speaking in and said I had a nice voice so she asked to see what I looked like. She showed her a pic of me and her friend was like "oh, well at least he has a nice voice..." I dont even know why she felt the need to tell me that or what to say to it. It was this random little interaction just like in a hallway while we were waiting for rehearsal to start but I still think about that all the time. I remember it just destroying me for the next month or two

Perfect video. The background ambient describes what goes on deep inside your soul all the time, and the pain just continues and continues and continues, another events where you are hurt, unrespected hahahah etc. and even when you're being positive or when you are truly happy sometimes, you always feel this constant burden that you can't throw off yourself, it can drive you totally insane and you are forever alone in your suffering because no one will understand how deeply and very complexly your psyche is hurt and how much you could bring into the world if you weren't in such situation
It's a tragedy. They say "Beautiful on the inside", in order to avoid the obvious truth, what really matters. The truth is, it's how you look that determines how your personality is received. It's an unfortunate, cruel truth, that being born a conventionally unattractive person automatically puts you at a disadvantage. Growing up being someone else's punching bag to increase their value in the social hierarchy, being told false lies. The people don't want to come off as shallow, or do something that can negatively impact their PR score in whatever social hierarchy they're apart of. Giving false hope to someone who never had any in the first place is a cruel joke. "Beautiful on the inside" is just something these people tell to avoid a topic that THEY feel deeply uncomfortable about. Someone who's unattractive being in these people's presence makes them uncomfortable, which then makes them see you in an awkward, negative light.
The truth is, Nathan never had a chance. No matter how hard he tries, there are simply some things that Nathan will never be able to do or achieve, simply because he drew the short straw. You see all these movies or shows about "the underdog", a story about going from "nothing" to something. But the thing about these characters is that they had the potential to be great from the start, it just needed to be realized. But what about someone like Nathan? Someone who never had the potential or hope in the first place? It's tough to write a character like this because it forces people to realize the unfortunate truth of reality, that REALITY IS NOT FAIR. And because reality isn't fair, these people constantly try to reaffirm their position that they got to where they are because of their own efforts and not because life didn't give them as shitty as a hand as others. They falsely delude themselves in order to avoid seeing the other POV of what life could have been like had they been given the wrong combination of genes. For people like Nathan, it's not about Perseverance, because you have to persevere for something, a shining hope, something to cling to, an expectation, but for Nathan, that's not the case. It's about Endurance. Enduring a pain that many people will never truly know about. They can try and understand, or feel a shred of sympathy or empathy, or simply partake in schadenfreude, but there will always be a gap between people like Nathan and normal society.
Reality is often viewed in terms of filters, filters that have been imposed on the person by their life experiences, and how reality has treated them. Nathan has a lot of time to think, to introspect, and this is because the only thing that awaits Nathan in the external world is nothing but false truths, awkward interactions, and the cold truth about life. Nathan then starts to view life through a negative filter, that anyone in his position would have eventually developed. You could say, "just try to change your mindset", "just be positive bro", or "just put yourself out there", but all those years of being tormented by reality when they were a kid, the time when your worldview is forming, will forever leave a permanent scar on the psyche. Reality is perceived subjectively, so is Nathan's view correct? Yes and No. It's just one of many interpretations, a path, but it's a path that no person should have to walk. Being ridiculed, avoided, tormented, having a body and mouth but no voice or presence. You just sort of "disappear", a walking anomaly. Only ever being acknowledged for the one thing that you can never change, it's a curse. Positivity just ends up being negative, and Negativity ends up being the interpretation, the reality of the situation. It's a sad, dark, and lonely story that's being told, but one that needs to be said.

The most annoying part is when they're treated badly by everyone and when they express their struggles of not being attractive, people think it's all in their head and gaslight them with unhelpful advice.
It would be nice if people just accepted that we're genetically not equal (attractiveness, intelligence, strength, size etc...) rather than denying this reality.

2. Hair systems/ wigs/ SMP for his hair. Meds like finasteride, dutasteride and minoxidil. Hair transplants;
3. Limb lengthening surgery for his height.
4. Money and status to compensate looks.
Sometimes there are things you can do to improve your looks. Even if they are surgeries. It will completely change your life, unlike bullshit advice that never targets the root cause of your problems (in this case, looks).

The best thing about being not attractive is that is gets more easy with time, in my youth no girl ever approached me or even considered to give an answer. Now that i am reaching my 30´s i finally understood that girls(for the most part) are shallow and only wishes to have the best of guys. I think the most relatable part of this is being bitter towards everyone else because they have something you just can't get. The fact that you are less valuable just because of the way you look. then yes, you did not try enough. i was bullied by everyone who knew me in my grade for having whacky hair and bad hygene, even thought i showered every day and put deodorant on when needed, brushed my teeth, i was clean, but people bullied me still. got to the point where i took knives to my throat and thought about ending it all because of them. one day, i thought about what i could do to stop that instead of whining, and i found what my strenght was, making people laugh. i wasn't that good looking, had a lot of acne but people still liked laughing with me by the end of secondary 5, i found a way to have charisma. i then tried acutane to get rid of my acne, grew my hair out so it would look more beautiful, trried looking more friendly with my eyes and guess what, it failed, i got falsely accused of some bad stuff because people at my job didn't like me, i didn't fit their snakey vibe, so i quit, got a depression, a real depression, couldn't do anything for a whole month before being able to even just say hello to a girl. i learned my lesson thought, talk less, listen to who is your company and adjust your limit to what you can say, thats how i got a girlfriend, but she was unstable, so was i, it didn't last long, got back into a depression, i haven't been able to find a job since but i've made friends, real friends who love me and i love them, i'm now charismatic, handsome and nice with people still. why? because my older selff would be ashamed of me if i was hard with people who are uglier or have it harder than me. However makeovers also work, they work for everybody.
1. Go to the gym.
2. If you're balding like that cut off your entire hair. A bald head looks good, and a head with hair does as well. Its the inbetween phase thats creepy.
3. Find a hobby, a genuine interest that will make you more interesting.
4. Dont be afraid to hear no, you will hear it more often then yes.
5. Dress up a bit better, doesn't have to be expensive. But it has to be clean and well fitted for your build.
6. Grow facial hair, if you can't then use menoxdile. Facial hair is basically makeup for men.
