I agree. Fitness isn't just about building big muscles. You can be extremely fit without having visible muscles (from doing activities like running, cycling, climbing, swimming etc.).
Yes and once they all agreed that going to the gym meant you have to care about physique, I disagreed. People go who are athletic, or want to become athletic, recover/prevent injuries, health reasons. While it is a main reason, there’s many other reasons to go to the gym besides physique.

Sexism is life. Men and women aren't the same. We're different. The requirements for women to join the sports, police, firefighters, and military are different to men. That's sexism for ya. Welcome to planet Earth.
One thing i really disagree is that when people want to look better is not because they are doing it for the other gender or so that they look at them sometimes we all have insecurities and we want to look nice for ourselves to feel better for ourselves hence have better relationship with other's it's not always about others
Subconsciously we are genetically programmed to maximize our attractiveness for the opposite sex, you could logically think that you don't like how your butt looks or how your nose looks but that all stems from your genetic programming to secure the best possible mate.
I thought we were done with the whole "women are dressing/acting like this for mens attention thing." Why can't it ever be for ourselves? There's a difference between noticing cleavage and staring, move on with your workout.
No, we can't be over it because some women do it for men. My wife and her friends definitely said that's why they did it so it's true in some cases, not all, but some
I agree, and even if SOME women do want yhe attention, that doesn't mean you should make them feel uncomfortable. I am at the gym in my bra and leggings 95% of the time, because I am dripping with sweat and hot. You can glance abd even look and appreciate but there's zero reason to be a creep or assume I want bothering.
Key is you do it for yourself then cover yourself head to toe lol you don’t because you feel more happy when you dress well you dress well because you know society judges you. You are judged by men and women but which 1 do you want to attract in your subconscious 😂 fact but women never understand this it’s hilarious
*I liked how even if the fit people don’t find the plus size people attractive they still acknowledge that there are some people out there that DO and that attraction is subjective.*
What if… girls who are wearing sports bras and exposing skin are doing it… CAUSE ITS COMFORTABLE! So annoying that these men and the pink and blue women think everything is about the male gaze! Theyd be the same people to excuse assault and ask “well what was she wearing? She’s obviously looking for attention”. I’ve had to leave gyms before because creepy men were staring or following me around the gym and I was wearing baggy Adam Sandler attire. I wasn’t ASKING to be made to feel uncomfortable. I was there simply to do my workout and leave.
i feel this. im 17 and i was walking around the gym and this guy was hopping from machine to machine around me. i thought it was just a coincidence at first; maybe he just happened to be using the machine beside me. i got done with my workout and i was walking out the door and he followed me to my dads car until he saw my dad and walked to his car that was like 50+ feet away to act like he was getting something 😭
I sweat a lot when I work out and I almost look like I peed my pants every time I’m at the gym 🫣 I just wear yoga pants and workout tank top because I hate sleeves with sweat marks and I don’t like baggy pants moving around when I’m doing cardio.

She did one point in the video she said females and males when talking about dressing for attention. But it was insane to me to hear that throughout the whole video.
the conclusion that girls shouldn’t complain about being stared at the gym because they’re wearing revealing things aka “they’re asking for it” is utterly absurd to me
Working at a warehouse, I've been able to wear what I please. On a hot day, I wore a muscle tank top that only showed the deltoid portion of my body (no traps, no chest... etc). Even with just that on... I was getting complements, mixed with some girls & guys doing and saying things I didn't like. While I can complain about it, I realized that wearing such clothing might draw a certain type of attention that I don't like. Because of that, I decided to only wear tanks outside of work. This is called, *taking accountability.* While a person may not intend to get attention by what they wear, changing how they present themselves can significantly decrease or even eliminate what they experienced. Trying to change other people will never work. Just make adjustments to achieve different results.
And this comment is why the women and not taking accountability narrative lives on every day lol. If you consciously make the decision to put on something that is revealing and will obviously garner attention, especially if you know you’re conventionally attractive or have nice assets, you shouldn’t complain about getting looks. You knew what you were putting on regardless of how comfy it may be or how confident it may make you feel, you knew it was revealing and people in general are going to look at something put out on display. Accountability is key.

13:44 He was wrong about this. The question wasnt about physical attractiveness. It was about attractiveness. It seems he only thinks attractiveness is physical. The woman in pink think attractiveness encompasses characteristics that arent physical as well (confidence) This is a big difference between men and womens perceptions
Why do you guys only ever get influencers for these things? It heavily skews their opinions most of the time. Try doing it with normal people that have no pressure to present a certain way.
If you’re there to focus on yourself, why does it matter if someone is setting up a camera, wearing tight outfits… I most of the time wear hoodies and sweats because I like to sweat but I don’t care at all that my gym partner wears tight outfits and short shorts. I’m focused on me and so is she. Just different comfort levels. Same goal tho. She’s also petite and I’m more… voluptuous, so she gets away with more tight outfits without things spilling out. She also takes more pictures to track progress and I’m not really doing that. So many men think that girls wear cute fits, do their hair, makeup, for men, but they do it for more self confidence, and you need that as motivation.
I agree except for the camera part. Super annoying when someone is setting up their tripod and camera when the gym is busy. Or maybe people just don't want to be on camera.
Exactly and the people in this video act like everyone at the gym are influencers doing it all for social media but in reality those who go are people who work 9-5, have 3 kids, and are trying to lose a couple pounds.
Dude's been out of original and even remotely valuable content for years now - all he does is squawk in reactions to other fitness content. Glad I unfollowed him a while ago.
I hate when people generalise their own opinions, just because u r at the gym minding ur own business doesn't mean everyone thinks and does the same as u, just cuz u wanna get attention on ur butt doesn't mean every woman does, maybe Im building my butt for my bf? Just cuz Im working on my butt doesn't automatically mean I want every guy to look at it (wearing those tight leggings with a scrunch bum is another thing tho)
90% of gym people are just people at the gym bruh. we literally just be chilling and then go home. when you add influencers and competitors it gets different.
Men work out shirtless in the gym all the time, so why is it an issue if women wear more revealing gym clothes? For me, wearing shorts and lighter gym outfits helps with sensory issues related to sweating-it’s about comfort and practicality, not attention. The fact that women are still blamed for how others behave towards them because of what they wear is so gross and rooted in borderline rape culture rhetoric. This is one of the main reasons I avoid going to the gym, and I know so many other girls feel the same way.
It depends on the gym. It’s usually frowned upon if men workout shirtless. It’s usually seen as egotistical and unhygienic to be sweating on equipment. The only exception I think of is perhaps a CrossFit or calisthenics gym
@ I understand your point about shirtless men being frowned upon for hygiene reasons, but that’s not really what I’m talking about. My issue is with the double standard that men wearing tank tops or other minimal clothing is generally accepted, but if a woman wears something like a sports bra and leggings, it’s suddenly a problem. It’s frustrating that women’s clothing is so often scrutinized and policed in ways men’s isn’t.
It's not an issue for women to wear revealing clothes to the gym, but to be shocked men would look and expect them not to look is naive. You're better off finding an all women's gym where you will STILL get looked at.
dude with the locs did both full range and half range. he also likely weighs more and is wayyy older than the other two. also, being that he competes, he may or may not be hydrated lol
the older lady saying everyone is focused on themselves in the gym, and then saying she stares at people's physiques in the gym and judges people who go to planet fitness? girl ur the person beginners are scared of
On a real note people mostly care about themselves and if they judge it’s mostly positive or subconscious judging. At the end of the day though don’t let people that have no importance in your life drag you down
4:20 The statement made by the woman in pink, suggesting that women exercise their glutes solely to attract male attention, is reflective of a harmful mindset akin to victim-blaming, such as when a woman’s attire is scrutinized after she has been assaulted. This perspective undermines women’s autonomy and perpetuates the problematic notion that their actions or existence are inherently an invitation for sexualization. I’m just so baffled by how casually she just said what she said, as if it’s just a given fact. Well about the women who already have that natural big butt? Do they also want men to look at them?
My immediate thought was “wait, so glute and leg strength is for… men? Not repairing busted joints? And a firmer tush is a side effect?” Wtf and I’m not fit by any means, but I have been working out and now I’m kinda like… ew no thanks if everybody thinks it’s just for attention and not me wanting to be able to hustle up and down a couple flights of stairs wtf
@@mcmike2956Its not never in my life have I thought about other ppl when training my glutes, working out has solely ever been for my own approval and health.
sounds like a whole lot of misogyny coming from both sides and I can't even reach the 10min mark. very disappointed with the content and the people that have been chosen to be platformed on here recently.
Wearing "misogyny colored glasses" doesn't mean that everywhere & everything you see has misogyny in it, it just means that you are seeing it there because of your perspective, on life.
Each person in a gym is an individual. Unless they tell you, you don't likely know if they're dressed for comfort, to attract same sex or opposite sex or both or neither. Or if they are "serious" about exercising or not. And if they are seeking dating/sex or not. And what they are capable of doing or not doing.
There are ways to tell, if they have a phone set up and they are in the middle of the gym doing deliberately lousy exercises. That needs to be called out
If you're serious about fitness, you're not wearing shapewear or anything designed to give and show off a wedgie or cleavage. A snug shirt, fit hoodie, sweats, etc are what women wear when they go to sweat and better themselves.
@ How am I weaponising therapy? Myles clearly derives happiness from external validation rather than looking inwards at his core values and beliefs. This can be very destabilising should there be any external changes beyond his control. Therapy promotes self-awareness and understanding, and in doing so helps build a stronger core sense of self.

Nobody’s paying attention to the average gym goer, you’re damn near invisible. And it’s okay if you’re not “serious” but there’s a difference between bullshitting and putting in effort while being new.
No. They’re talking about people looking on their phones heavily throughout out the session. I swear no one judges people trying to get their grounding there
45:50 my man's telling on himself rather than telling the universal mindset that doesn't even exist. Dressing well, taking care of yourself for your own enjoyment does not equal weirdos are allowed to disrespectfully stare at you or take creep pics for example...
If someone works out to attain a specific form for their body and also dresses to show off these specific forms, so it can be seen by people, then surely they'll reap the fruits and also the weeds from it. If you "show off" this enjoyment than it's not "for your own" anymore. If you expose your worked-out upper-body, you shouldn't be surprised if people starring/looking at it.

You're misinterpreting my words"
The association with masculine and male and feminine and women is why people will disagree. The gym can be a masculine space it does not mean it’s for men, everyone has test and estrogen the balance of that is what separates men and women and why men lean towards more masculine activities
What's more interesting is the fact that, having a fit body and a not so nice face still makes you unattractive... which describes all of the men😅😅😅 though I feel horrible for saying it...
16:33 “We can’t deviate from the question because how someone presents themselves has nothing to do with their attractiveness but also I’m gonna present this person in the worst light possible to make them sound ugly af”
the black kid was the ONLY honest one for the attention thing. the only reason dressing well makes you feel confident is because of approval. gimme a break
It rubs me the wrong way anytime someone feels like they can speak for an entire gender, minority, etc. but for a woman to sit there and confidently say "if a woman is wearing that type of clothing to the gym, I guarantee she wants you to stare at her" is wildd. speak for yourself.
WHEN are people going to realize that women can be in the gym for themselves and not for anyone to look at them?! I am NOT in the gym for anyone to look at me, I do get uncomfortable if men stare at me. I’m there to workout for ME, to dress for ME, to feel strong and confident for ME.
@@UrnotvirtuousOkay correction I did only watch the first prompt LOL but they were kinda on both sides in a weird way. Building glutes for men or other peoples approval, wearing things cause you want people to look. Absolutely some women do that and respect to them but it sounded to general
Same with eating disorders. The amount of bodybuilders I see online doing extreme food restrictions and weighing themselves before and after every meal is INSANE. You don’t have to be stick thin to have an unhealthy mindset
Having participants advertising law firms in such a middle ground video is wild. "Join us suing gyms even though your injury was 100% your fault and not the gym's responsibility"
Woman are not a monolith, some go for male/female approval and some don’t. Just the same as some males go for female/male approval. Just depends on the person
Regarding the dress code of women at the gym, I will speak as a woman.... they so often overdo it and will soon start walking around in just underwear I think. I, as a woman, sometimes feel just weird when the girl in front of me pushes up towards me practically wearing panties that cut into you know what part of the body, it's damn awkward
Lori and Venus are such great inspiration for women as we get older! There is so much negativity around aging, that I love seeing people like that of how I can still look in 20 years.
The way they all agreed that if women are wearing something “revealing” like showing any cleavage that means they want men to look at them. Like dude lesbians exist too and sometimes people wanna dress in a way that makes them feel confident, as well as functionality for working out. And it IS weird asf to stare at people in the gym idc.
Relating to the attractiveness thing - we're not all physically attracted to people based on appearance. I don't feel any attraction to anyone I don't know by just looking at a photo of them. I feel attracted to more personality-based things, and then once I feel emotionally attracted to them, their appearance becomes attractive to me. I don't have a way to answer whether I find someone attractive based on appearance alone
There’s a fundamental difference between what men and women are attracted to and what we’re turned off by. So they were not gonna have middle ground with that.

the conclusion that girls shouldn’t complain about being stared at the gym because they’re wearing revealing things aka “they’re asking for it” is utterly absurd to me
Working at a warehouse, I've been able to wear what I please. Just make adjustments to achieve different results.
the girl in the vid has exclusive spicy content tho....
I think lust is bad in general, shouldn’t be condoned like this, I agree
And this comment is why the women and not taking accountability narrative lives on every day lol. If you consciously make the decision to put on something that is revealing and will obviously garner attention, especially if you know you’re conventionally attractive or have nice assets, you shouldn’t complain about getting looks. You knew what you were putting on regardless of how comfy it may be or how confident it may make you feel, you knew it was revealing and people in general are going to look at something put out on display. Accountability is key.

4:20 The statement made by the woman in pink, suggesting that women exercise their glutes solely to attract male attention, is reflective of a harmful mindset akin to victim-blaming, such as when a woman’s attire is scrutinized after she has been assaulted. WHEN are people going to realize that women can be in the gym for themselves and not for anyone to look at them?! I am NOT in the gym for anyone to look at me, I do get uncomfortable if men stare at me. I’m there to workout for ME, to dress for ME, to feel strong and confident for ME.
@@majaeinarsson8336 not even what they said
@@UrnotvirtuousOkay correction I did only watch the first prompt LOL but they were kinda on both sides in a weird way. Building glutes for men or other peoples approval, wearing things cause you want people to look. Absolutely some women do that and respect to them but it sounded to general
The answers were definitely better on the later prompts. I just thought during the first it sounded bad
@ 👍
Because males are ignored daily so they project on women.
Dude there’s so many bad takes, this is painful to watch
The body dysmorphia in the bodybuilding world is insane
Same with eating disorders. The amount of bodybuilders I see online doing extreme food restrictions and weighing themselves before and after every meal is INSANE. You don’t have to be stick thin to have an unhealthy mindset
Having participants advertising law firms in such a middle ground video is wild. "Join us suing gyms even though your injury was 100% your fault and not the gym's responsibility"
I bet a lot of people don't even realize that the blonde haired woman is Ice from American Gladiators!!
yess!!!! thank you
People absolutely judge others in the gym.
Lady: "Who are you building a butt for in the first place?"
Me: "The girls and the gays."
We train and go to the gym for our own approval, not for men.
Not always..
@@ElijahWatts-ji9yx Yes always its just that weird men like you have big egos
Woman are not a monolith, some go for male/female approval and some don’t. Just the same as some males go for female/male approval. Just depends on the person
Going to the gym in your underwear, you're doing it for attention.
@@psychobillynumbnuts1 so do men want attention when they go shirtless
Torre Washington is a great example that you don’t need to support animal abuse and cruelty to be a bodybuilder
He is on steroids you manure-for-brains
Regarding the dress code of women at the gym, I will speak as a woman.... they so often overdo it and will soon start walking around in just underwear I think. I, as a woman, sometimes feel just weird when the girl in front of me pushes up towards me practically wearing panties that cut into you know what part of the body, it's damn awkward
Lori and Venus are such great inspiration for women as we get older! There is so much negativity around aging, that I love seeing people like that of how I can still look in 20 years.
Wasn’t Lori an American Gladiator?
Yet they’re still actively blaming women for men’s inappropriate behaviour, that mindset is not and should not be inspirational at all.
@@3rdjrhyea she was😭
@@annabelle9561 Their work ethic and body is what I was talking about. but yeah I definitely did not agree with all their views.
@ she looks younger now than some of her older photos 😳🥵
that blonde guy looks like he could step out of a michelangelo painting
The way they all agreed that if women are wearing something “revealing” like showing any cleavage that means they want men to look at them. Like dude lesbians exist too and sometimes people wanna dress in a way that makes them feel confident, as well as functionality for working out. And it IS weird asf to stare at people in the gym idc.
That guy is fr skipping leg day
Okay guys, let's appreciate Brandon's push ups more.
Ngl, he was actually pretty fricking amazing!!
@@asdfghj13579fly Nah its the same, maybe some differences, like men like broad hips while women like broad shoulders, men like legs more while women like arms more but both are pretty much the same
Dude, that guy in the grey tank top was hella annoying. He really gave off podcast guy vibes. He hated being “wrong”, even though the questions were opinionated. And on top of that he seemed to have a big problem with women. Making most of the arguments into a gender thing. Then not being able to just understand not every one think like him.
