you know this is the first time ive seen a board sound like mine, its not exactly i think yours sounds better but modded my RK84 with wuque studio silent linears, tape mod and foam. mines WAY quieter but its such a similar sound profile. first time ive heard someones board sound like mine! very nice
I followed this on a hybrid type s, but for some reason I can't get it to power back on. The led light won't come on. Not sure if I need to try a new ribbon cable.
imho... besides the stab keys... topre doesn't really need lubing i did it on a realforce r2 TKL and tbh, it feels incredibly nice lubed and unlubed... the difference is very small
I do think there’s a very noticeable difference with lubed vs. non-lubed sliders though. There is a scratchiness with Topre that some people like (I like it sometimes). And that scratchiness is diminished with the slider lubing.
I have a professional hybrid type-s produced in 2022, and its REV. is A3 . I dont know how to remove plungers because it seems different from your keyboard of REV. A2. Do you have any experience to share ? Thanks in advance.
Not sure what the differences are between the revisions. But I believe removing the plungers are the same between all hhkb's, you just need to poke them out. It does take a bit of force but they will come out, using something like a marker helps too.
Not in my experience. I think the best option is if you go Black on Black. They basically look blank. But, if someone else is using the board, they aren’t completely lost since they can still look closer at the legends.
Bro I don't know why. But dobra always sounds really bad to me. This one went from absolutely atrocious to pretty acceptable. But it just sounds very mushy to me. I do wonder how they feel. I imagine like more premium membrane's that sorta function like regular mechanical switches.
Yah that is a valid take. It's all preference at the end of the day. Some people hate the sound and feel of topre and some love them. Best way to find out for yourself is to try one out. I personally really enjoy the sound and feel of Topre switches. Also the tactility isn't comparable to any mx tactile switch.
@skavcic to each their own bud I don't like tactile switches. And I certainly don't like the sound I'm hearing from these boards. I'll stick with my black ink v2's
woww one of the best hhkbs i've heard!!

Yah I agree. Lubing topre isn't as significant as lubing a mx switch. Which makes sense since all you really lube is that small slider contact
I do think there’s a very noticeable difference with lubed vs. non-lubed sliders though. There is a scratchiness with Topre that some people like (I like it sometimes). And that scratchiness is diminished with the slider lubing.
amazing vid!
Really difficult to get the Topre Keycap
Even it is quite expensive

❤❤❤❤❤
I might do this, just to improve the spacebar lolol. It's the most annoying thing when it gets all rattly
Does the blank vs printed key caps feel any different or sound different at all?

Did you try putting a foam between pcbs?
For some reason i like the stock sound better, lubed sound very muffled
ya It sounds perfectly fine stock (besides the stabs). I actually used it stock for couple months first before trying it lubed

They feel better than all the other switches, that's how they feel.
