Typing is really hard, and it's all about practice. I was lucky and started typing at around age 5 to beat my brother, and by the time I was 8 I could type around 90 - 100 WPM (not including numbers, I still suck at those.) I think the fact that I learned when I was pretty young implanted the muscle memory into my brain, and now I can still type at around 100 WPM. But seriously, getting from 40 WPM to 90 in just a week is CRAZY. Good job!!
Seems you forgot how it's like to learn typing since you learned it way back This of of course fake ..no way it is possible to reach 90wpm in a week, it will take months
i was also pretty lucky, started learning through a school program in the second grade. By middle school I could type most words consistantly at above 80 wpm, usually above 90 (not counting numbers… we don’t talk about those.) Many of my peers were lazy and didn’t follow the lesson instructions, so now most of my friends can only consistantly get around 60-70 at the highest and I still have friends who type with their index fingers (but somehow still get 50 wpm).
Tips Mike said to improve your typing speed are: 1: A good sitting posture 2: Hand position ( fingers on F and G key) 3: More focus on screen 4: Keep your arms up instead of resting them 5: Practice for 20 minutes and then rest for 5 minutes 6: Use ' Ctrl + Backspace' for deleting the whole word 7: The more you practice the faster you get 8: Be consistent and don't give up. Thanks.
I’m probably a nerd, but I learned to get faster at typing because while I play online games people trash talk me so to keep up with the trash talk I passively got faster at typing.
It took me 11 months to increase from 20 WPM to averaging around 95-105WPM. I only used typeracer to improve, nothing else. And I’m actually happy I’m able to type much faster now
Sei incredibile, già che parli in ogni video in inglese mi sorprendi ma soprattutto, mi fai capire che se ci si impegna tutto è possibile, grande Mike!
for typing faster rules 1: Practice more and more rules 2: Relax rules 3: You have to keep track what will you do next after typing one and another rules 4: Track you movement
i just recently got 99 wpm and holy my hands started hurting after all the practice i was doing and you are right the more you practice the better you get, i love your videos they are entertaining and motivational!
@@thalapathykumar371 I can type up to 101 wpm and I honestly don’t directly practice to get better at typing. I just play and chat in video games, and write essays for my class assignments.
Dude, your videos are really inspiring. I am total amazed by how passionate you are in completing every challenge. Also I wanna say that your editing skill is really amazing. Thank you for everything.
8 months 3weeks 3days before when I first watched this video I started touch-typing, I was somewhat about 27WPM and currently I am at 91WPM. I am still amazed that this guy reached it within a week!
Why do I hate this comment? I'm practicing touch-typing now daily and trying to challenge each lesson. I write down my challenging words, use different keyboards, stretch my wrists and fingers consistently. Yet I started with approx. 35wpm and after 4 month I'm barely cracking 80wpm - with really bad accuracy and the easiest word settings. You can't just type for 4 hrs straight and expect results to improve (I tried on multiple occasions). This video will discourage anybody who will sit for weeks not improving at all. Yet the comment is true - just not with this 'man'.
I am 17 y/o and this is about my progress (german language) over the last 6 month without any 10 fingersystem experience: Day 0: 15-20 WPM Day 30: 40-50 WPM Day 60: 60-70 WPM Month 3: 70-80 WPM Month 4: 80-90 WPM -> first 100 WPM (day 143) Month 5: 90-95 WPM Month: 6: 95-100 WPM I practiced approximately 10-20 Minutes every day (10fastfinger, typeracer, Tipp10) although the first couple days it was more like 6-7 hours -> goal is consistent 100 WPM!
It’s an ergonomic mouse. Instead of your palm becoming pronated (facing down) when using a regular mouse, your palm faces medially (towards your midline) therefore your arm assumes a more ‘natural’ position.
It's true that practicing daily will improve your typing speed. I used to type with only two fingers, but know I can touch type and now I can do 30 words per minute. :D This is only from 1 day of practicing I bet I can do 90WPM in a year if I keep practicing.
WHATTT, ITS BEEN A YEAR ALREADY?! GOSH I REMEMBER I TYPED THIS COMMENT A MONTH AGO! Anyway im still at 30 wpm. I'm not really trying to speed up my typing. Just being able to touchtype in a dark room is enough. Not having to slouch everytime to see if you're pressing the right key is 😎👍
30wpm is incredibly slow (please do not take offence this is just my opinion and i wouldnt want to cause an argument!) i average 100wpm when im trying to be comfortable, 130wpm when im trying, but when i try to type at slow speed i end up typing at 85wpm minimum however hard i try.
I got stuck at 60-69wpm in the past and what really helped me was typing slower. Instead of focusing on getting faster and I focused on getting less mistakes and engraning the right movements of my fingers in my brain. After a like 3 hours of typing slower, I broke through my 60wpm barrier.
I started learning to type fast at the age of 15, now I'm 16 and my typing speed drastically increased from 35 wpm to 127 wpm (top speed), though I can have the potential to go up to 154 wpm (decreased in a race to 123 wpm because of the mistakes).
it took me 9 months to learn to type using all my fingers rather than typing by using just two, touch typing and reaching upto 92 wpm and you did all of this in 3 days WOW!!
Keep going, I can type a maximum of 120 and that's only after a small amount of training from being at 100 wpm. That is also considering I generally learn very fast and used to type about half a paragraph per minute because of the games I was playing requiring it, that I believe shows pretty well how practice is what you need to get better at typing fast.
I do not believe that you actually went from two finger typing towards 95 words in one week. I have been a ten finger typer my entire life. I made 62 on qwerty. Decided I would learn Dvorak. That was three years ago. I just typed 92 wpm last month. It has been a dedication over those three years. Great video. Very entertaining. Just not real.
I think that if someone used to typewith just two fingers it would take some time to learn the placement of all the keys. After that one can improve their speed quick. For me it took a lot of time to remember where each letter was.
10 days later when I practice touch typing until now it's going pretty well. My trick is: I lower my eyes a bit and I'm gonna see the keyboard(not actually the letters but the keyboard only) in my peripheral vision.
Really? I was never really taught typing that much. If I couldn't read, I probably wouldn't be able to type when I was a kid. I used to be a really slow typer until I got faster at it and I am at 93 wpm right now.
*It took me 2 1/2years, and I MEAN TWOO AND A HALF YEARS, to get my typing speed from 20 to 70* This guy literally takes his typing speed form 40 to 90 in a week, this guy is insanely amazing, this is why i subscribed *Gosh I feel so- so-- ._. I can't even describe it.*
@@pryansh_ I don't know if it's fake or not but all I can say is. I started this week from 23-50 wpm and I only practice 30mins-1h per day. Btw It is also my first time learning 10 finger typing, I used to type with four Fingers.
@@pryansh_ Nah I don't think it's fake. Personally it took me around 2 weeks to reach 80 wpm from 30. I know some who have reached 100 in less than 2 weeks.
I type pretty fast, about 200 wpm. It takes a lot of dedication and practice. When I was ten I did 120 wpm. Now I’m 19 and faster. It’s a great skill to learn for writing my thesis in college.
How about this idea for the next video: learn to nail the american accent or any english accent you like, since your Italian accent breakes your english (no insult in fact i love italian people), love you from Jordan 🇯🇴❤️
My advice for typing as I've been practising typing for 5 years. I can type around 120wpm average with a personal best at 150wpm 1) Learn the layout of the keyboard. Learn the position of each key and get used to a keyboard that you find possible. 2) Find your personal hand position. I use my whole left hand for the left side of my keyboard and for the right side I only use my index finger. Don't ask why I'm just used to it now. 3) Posture is important but do whatever you feel comfortable in. 4) Accuracy is key when getting a higher wpm. Focus on accuracy NOT speed. 5) Don't type for too long. Your WPM will deteriorate after a while. This is what I experience when I try and get a higher score for my typing tests. 6) Use some motivating music or something of sorts. Something to hype you up, Hopefully my advice can help you. Have fun typing!

Do u use both pinkies to type, cos I’ve just started and I don’t know if it’s worth practicing with the pinky. Also Ali Abdaal ( a RUclipsr who writes ~160 WPM ) mentioned he doesn’t use them as often as he should, what do u think?
@@Ian-md6vj i use 5 fingers, my left hand = middle finder, index, and ring, and on my right hand i use middle and index, honestly its comfortable for me
@@Ian-md6vj Yea I use both pinkies to type but I only use the right shift key for all shifts. Although, I should get into the habit of using my left shift key for typing in the left side of the keyboard. That would make me faster. I think that yes, you should definitely get into the habit of using both of your pinkies for letters like plqsz and the shift keys as well as periods and slashes.
That would’ve been a worse catastrophe than 9/11. My family friendly, wholesome 100, christian ears would not be able to survive that, so much so that I would get my Glock 17 and shoot myself in the head 6 times.
Things that focus around your WPM: Muscle Memory Words used for output. CPU speed PS/2 Keyboard vs USB Actuation Feather-typing if you can put the keyboard up on a platform just an inch or two [depending] based upon your arm length sitting at the right height and posture eliminate every last process possible to allow the marginal gains I was around 200 wpm in middle school for what its' worth.
I'm still learning to touchtype with the workman layout and currently have my typing speed at 30wpm my struggle is typing j since it needs you to stretch your fingers until i realised how bad my posture is thanks for this video, this video motivates me to keep going my goal is 70wpm and i think I can do it
Hey! How’s workman going? I also struggle with the J key, do you remember what you were doing wrong? I’m in the process of learning colemak, currently at 40 wpm
@@merulox also I don't think I did anything wrong, it just takes a bit to get used to the J key as it doesn't bother me anymore. Besides, J is the least you're gonna type in english which is why it's positioned in the most inconvenient key in the keyboard
Watching your video even I wanted to have typing speed of at least 80 wpm. I wasn't used to type with 10 fingers. I have learnt to type with 10 fingers after a lot of practising and now currently my speed is around 60 wpm
00:04 Improving typing speed can save time 00:33 Improving posture and hand positioning can help with typing efficiency 01:06 Learning to type with all fingers can significantly increase typing speed 01:36 Improving typing speed through focus and proper posture 02:15 Practicing in shorter sessions with breaks improved typing speed 02:50 Ctrl backspace is a useful shortcut for deleting entire words. 03:22 I achieved consistent results of more than 85 words per minute 04:01 I improved my performance after focused practice.
When this video came to me I read his channel name as "Milk Shake"😂 then I realised it's Mike shake.😎
this man youtube channel is like a grinding channel he maxes out every level like how to lucid dream or other stuff
I get all A's and type 100 words a minute..
as long as all those words are "a"...
I type 1000 words per minute.
i type 128 WPM on a daily basis, 157 if I’m focused
126 here
@@123miky SURE LMFAO PROVE IT
@@sweatbuh prove it lmaoo u use macro prob (prove with a keyboard cam)
I do not believe that you actually went from two finger typing towards 95 words in one week. I have been a ten finger typer my entire life. I made 62 on qwerty. Decided I would learn Dvorak. That was three years ago. I just typed 92 wpm last month. It has been a dedication over those three years. Great video. Very entertaining. Just not real.
Exactly what I was thinking... You cannot make progress that fast
It's just like those fat to fit in 2 weeks kind of videos🤣
@@divyaakashdutta4038 Nah it's possible. Some people learn faster than other but that's normal!
In just about a span of 1-2months, my QWERTY pb was 140 and I average around 115-125. So this video is very real
I think that if someone used to typewith just two fingers it would take some time to learn the placement of all the keys. After that one can improve their speed quick. For me it took a lot of time to remember where each letter was.
It got recommended nd when I saw the channel name I read it *MILK SHAKE* instead of *MIKE SHAKE*
lolll
Same lmao 😆
I really prefer kiran's typing tutor.
When I started with that software and in less than a month I can now type around 75-90 words per minute.
this is my first time on your channel and the way u said 70% of u haven't subscribed I was dead laughing hahaha
hence, SUBSCRIBED!
10 days later when I practice touch typing until now it's going pretty well.
My trick is:
I lower my eyes a bit and I'm gonna see the keyboard(not actually the letters but the keyboard only) in my peripheral vision.
My school actually teaches typing in 3rd grade. Man one of the most useful classes of my life.
Really? I was never really taught typing that much. If I couldn't read, I probably wouldn't be able to type when I was a kid. I used to be a really slow typer until I got faster at it and I am at 93 wpm right now.

Are you using the homerow method or your own?
@@skyhunter520 i do a bit of both. if its lots of symbols and numbers, ill use homerow. if it is just words ill do my own.

How about this idea for the next video: learn to nail the american accent or any english accent you like, since your Italian accent breakes your english (no insult in fact i love italian people), love you from Jordan 🇯🇴❤️
Ironic that you spelt break in the wrong way in a message like this one :)

My advice for typing as I've been practising typing for 5 years.
I can type around 120wpm average with a personal best at 150wpm
1) Learn the layout of the keyboard.
Something to hype you up,
Hopefully my advice can help you. Have fun typing!
I smiled just by looking at you being happy for your success and improvement. That's... Peaceful to watch to be honest

Mike after practicing this for a year:
*”I don’t think u u understand how fast I really am...”*
I type at 110 WPM, and honestly I just type the way I feel comfortable.
Same except I type 126 with 110 average

I'm still learning to touchtype with the workman layout and currently have my typing speed at 30wpm
my struggle is typing j since it needs you to stretch your fingers until i realised how bad my posture is
thanks for this video, this video motivates me to keep going
my goal is 70wpm and i think I can do it

@@merulox also I don't think I did anything wrong, it just takes a bit to get used to the J key as it doesn't bother me anymore. Besides, J is the least you're gonna type in english which is why it's positioned in the most inconvenient key in the keyboard
