Is there some objective benefit? Does it use custom switches? Is every keyboard unique (like a Rolls Royce, which is why they're so expensive)? You likened it to a Bugatti Chiron, which definitely makes it much clearer but a Chiron is objectively way more powerful than the other cars. What actually makes this keyboard so much better?

Don't look, that's why you (supposedly, according to your comment, which is most likely sarcastic) can't type fast. Touch typing is essencial for fast typing, and something I sometimes still struggle with when it comes to typing any string of letters that contain (in any order) the 2 or more "rtyu" characters in sequence, but by simply touch typing I was able to get from 50 wpm to a consistent 88~92 wpm, with an eventual lucky run that gets me a feel of what it feels like to type in the low 110s wpm. If you intend to try monkeytype (the website they used) it's easier to get a higher score in the 15s mode, as that allows you to "pre-read" more words and therefore you have to think even less when you're typing.

I normally stay around 100-107 quite frequently... my all time best is 121 but after being seriously into in for 2 years including 1 year of scribing job that I did. They have such blazing fast typists laying around their office!!! Massive respect to all of you...
Brands send a lot of things to RUclipsrs, the biggest the RUclipsr is the more they send free stuff and more expensive they are, im not surprised to see people send expensive products to the highest tech channel on RUclips

I disagree. I think Magic Keyboard is great, even at sentences, for specific types of people (me being one of them). I honestly think WPM is more about your actual typing skills than what keyboard you use. Vinh, Brandon, and David for example i don't think would have done any better than they did if they used a mechanical keyboard. They're just slow typers.
I don't agree with that at all. The Magic Keyboards are really good for typing fast (short travel, light actuation). Mechnical keyboards are way more difficult for speed. Also those guys that were looking down at their keyboards when typing were screwed no matter what keyboard they were using.
Skill is most of it. I'm a rather good typist, and the keyboard is really only +/- 5%. The apple keyboards tend to be good for short bursts, but my accuracy falls away quickly. My fastest typing speeds tend to be on mechanical linears. It also changes depending on how familiar you are with a board.

I recently had to do a typing test for an intern job and I managed to do 32 wpm, and I do not type regularly. At least now I can be assured that I wasn't that far off from some of the members of the Studio haha.
I couldn't imagine using that Apple keyboard and getting anything above 30wpm but it goes to show that you can still achieve over 100wpm even so. For the record, I've been using a Logitech K400 for the better part of 4 years on my personal device now, but I think eventually my next move is a TKL mechanical keyboard with some tactile switches. Edit: I got a used Keychron K8 and have been using that for about 2 months now. It's a decent entry path into mechs imo but because it's not the version with hot-swappable keycaps, I've found it lacking in terms of upgradability. I might find an alternative chassis once I get some more stacks, but for now it's a large improvement to what I had before.

Are mechanical keyboards really that much better? But any time I even attempt to use a mechanical keyboard I type SO much worse, like 75 WPM, which is still quite a bit above average, but it's a snail's pace compared to what I do with flat, membrane keyboards.
Thogh the magic keyboard is chicklet design, it's actually a really good keyboard. It has pretty good feedback and very low profile keys, which actually might give you an improviement in speed compared to the majority of mechanical keyboards. Mechanical keyboards don't magically make the user a faster typist, the only benefit they really give is the superior tactile feeling and feedback. The mechanical keyboard trend has really warped people's minds of reason they got popular to begin with.
Its actually quite a nice observation to see that people whi invest on mechanical keyboards have a better wpms on average then people with normal keyboards. Yoi can legit see the enthusiast in them

I very much appreciate the use of MonkeyType for the testing. By far and away the best solo tryping site. That being said, some people are under the misconception that mechanical keyboards are much better than laptop keyboards and things like the apple magic. I've been quite into typing the last couple years and a lot of the top typists say there isn't really too much difference in speed (it's more feel that changes) and some literally just use laptop keyboards and stuff
People don't realise just how fast they're typing. 60 Words Per Minute is literally a full word every second. Not a letter. A complete word. The fact that Hayato, Andrew and Marques all got above 120 WPM on their first try is literally insane. 3:45 Poor David. He has to face the final boss immediately after the tutorial.

Everyone can be good at typing if they type only lowercase for long time but the real deal is the one who can type numbers, uppercase and lowercase at the same time
What witch craft is Marques doing? Watching his hands he was typing what appeared to be very slow compared to Ellis and beat him by a good margin. Also love how bad all the magic keyboard users did and all the mechanical keyboard users are just loud as hell hitting their keys with all their might.

I thought they were all incredibly fast typers, then I realized they’re doing 15 seconds, which totally inflate the numbers.
I mean between 15 and 30 seconds my wpm on monkeytype only varies by about 10. Not too much, given that it's double the time
We were going to do 30, but to keep the pace up we decided to go 15 till the finals.

Yeah you're only about 8 WPM below average, even just the tiniest bit of practice and you'll improve beyond that in no time!

Macbook Air keyboard, 151wpm (30 seconds). I think it's mostly a matter of what you're used to.
Once you get used to the Apple board it's not that bad.

if you configure it for speed, it can be much faster. My gaming mechanical slows down my typing becaue it's so heavy

What witch craft is Marques doing? Watching his hands he was typing what appeared to be very slow compared to Ellis and beat him by a good margin. Also love how bad all the magic keyboard users did and all the mechanical keyboard users are just loud as hell hitting their keys with all their might.
