@@spoker2006 There was literally 0 proof that she ever achieved that kind of speed. Guiness World Record never actually checked her claims, they gave her the title simply because the head of her company recommended her. Every single time her speed is brought up, its always "She said that she reached this speed" or "Her friend said she reached this speed". No third party was ever present to see her "records". And her result on the Letterman show sure doesn't paint her in a good way. Barbara Blackburn was simply used to market the Dvorak Keyboard. Her "records" are fake.

@@danielkiran8174 To elaborate, the original claim was from when she was working on a system and one of her results had 212 wpm but it was based on a speed she achieved on a single sentence in the middle of a test. She just mentioned that in an email in an internal company email which the company then put out in a newsletter w/o the context of one sentence. Then someone wrote a letter to Guiness citing that 212 with no context and they just accepted it and put it in their "records".

I know we don't look at the keys and in a speed test we don't even glance at the paper, but I can't see how she typed using the wrong keys without noticing. That's probably the effect of using a Dvorak keyboard, which is designed to minimize finger travel distances between strokes and for using the middle row most of the time and almost never the bottom row.
