Old Mr. Who? - Metal Detecting a 1700’s Mill Finds Lost Treasures!

- Опубликовано: 8 июл 2024
- This week we are returning to metal detecting this old Gristmill that was originally built in the 1750s. The mill stayed in production until the early 1900's and then was converted to a family home, so we're hoping to find some super early American pieces from it's time as a Gristmill along with family items from 120+ years ago. The sky is the limit as we hunker down and dig those deep squeaky tones in search of old pieces of Americana!

Currently watching old Quarter Hoarder videos when a new Quarter Hoarder video notification pops up. Nice.👍🏼
You can see the age setting in from his wayyy early videos. He's been at it a long time
I’d rather the age set in then the alternative. 🙂
That shoe buckle cleaned up like tomback or silver! That was a beautiful piece!
I really like the old mill you all are metal detecting and those cool awesome finds. Can't wait to see what else you, Doug and Rich and Charley find next week.
Well it's about time the "Quarter Hoarder" found an actual quarter! Great job 😂
You have the best metal detecting RUclips. Learning history and humor. Love it.
The Dudes love ya up here in Canada! Keep on doing what you do guys! We love it
Thanks Dudes I appreciate that! I’ve never met a Canadian I didn’t like.
That mill was great again! Your Barber quarter was spectacular, along with everyone else's excellent finds, but the tag with the original owner's name- that's Epic!
That is a Miraculous Medal.
Jason Thank you so much for your time doing the videos. the time to edit these videos is got to take 3/4 of your week to make 1 .so Thank you. then the places you guys find to hunt wow Like you say the Hobby Of the champions .always a fan
You guys make medal detecting so much fun ❤ I love medal detecting yay
I lived in Yardly PA in the Washingtons Crossing state park. I love seeing home. You guys are awesome.
I'm from WI but I was born in Feb of 65 at Ft. Dix.. (I barely remember it lol ) on my birth cert is says my folks(we) lived in Bordentown...just think I may have went by that house and all those finds....we left there in Aug of 65...a lot has probably changed since then but not that old place..I love the old things...thanks again for the vids
Very nice gentleman thank you for sharing this six stars
Congratulations to you all on your finds 🎉
Cool hunt guys thanks!!!!!
Cant miss any of your vids Jason, another good one, kudose on the quarter its a beauty ..HH
Some great relics and coins! I got myself a few great finds today as well! Wicked happy hunting!!
Beautiful barber Jason. Nice button & large cent Rich
You are such a nice guy!! Thank you for taking all of us along today and every week!!
Great video Jason et al! The gin cap IS actually pretty cool! The “wuter” you all spray on the finds never seems to amaze me….😅😉
Very nice Hunt. Jason Congrats on the 1903 D Barber Quarter. Looks very nice. Love the Boston cap. Some Lids are cool to find. The Trappers Tag very cool piece of History. Rich love the Token and Copper. Congrats on everyone's finds and IHPs Take Care
Hi guys, the button's off a piece of furniture, the back's unfinished with a long shank. They'd be sewn from behind and pulled back to make a divet.
What a pleasure it is for me to watch, listen, and learn about US and colonial history, whilst admiring the scenery. Lovely architecture, splendid trees, sound folk. Atb from me in UK.
I'm just starting metal detecting :)
Hey Jason & QH crew. Concave. You go into a cave - you put things into a bowl. Hope that helps. 🌼
Awesome Finds!
Looked up the Mr Boston still make alcohol have a nice selection
Quarter hoarder got him a beautiful quarter! Congratulations Jason? You all did fantastic! Shoe buckle was epic as well!
Wow! These guys are so professional!!!
Great finds y'all! I bet there's so much trash masking a bunch more treasure. In honor of your Barber, the new coupon code for 15% off will be BarberHoarder
You heard it here first, Excalibur Shovels discount code for friends of the channel. I’ll mention them again in the live show Thursday!
@QuarterHoarder Sweet! Happy digging everyone! 😃
Your Barber quarter looks more like 1908, than 1903. Not that it makes much difference. Love the videos. :)
NICE
A surprising silver, Gotta Love It!
Convex and Concave is easy to remember. Mother told me CAVES go into the hillside, so the 'inny' dished side is concave. The 'charm' is called a 'Miraculous Medal', Catholic of course. It is a Cross above 'M' for Mary.
Nice hunt
Jason and crew, just a PSA from my days of schoolin'... Con 'cave' is like a cave (it goes in).
& Stilag 'tite' holds tight to the ceiling.. Great episode this week with a lot of great treasures unearthed.
Thanks for the info.
Thank for the tip, I’ll use that going forward. I do actually know the difference, but for some reason it doesn’t come natural to me and I have to think about it each time. Hopefully your trick will trigger my brain quicker! 🙂
Trappers tag looks like Merrell M. Yoder to me. Was he one of the three brothers, maybe?
Great hunt fellas…with a boatload of cool finds to show for it!
Merrill (like The Love Boat captain)
👍👍
Thanks for another great video!!
You sure get some awesome finds and locations, cool stuff!!
see you Thursday
Old Mr Boston is a whiskey company from 1933-1986 and Brad Martin from Green Mountain Metal Detecting found the same charm you did but it was from the blackthorn resort area in New York and these charms were made in 1839.
I have read about the Yoders in that area, pretty cool,.
I would love to see a video on how you clean your finds at home
Nice finds Guys 👊
I pulled 10 old caps today and didn't find a Mr Boston😪 I did find a 1786 half Reale so I guess its ok. Another great video brother.
Very nice house and you guys are great
Let's go let's go treasure and adventure ✌👵
The trappers tag is the find of the day
Shout out to Eric from ultimate finds! I bought a shovel prop last week. Great Idea, great design. You should buy one. Its worth it!
Great video
The first name on that trapper tag is Merrill. Merrill Yoder. There's a Merrill Yoder listed as having lived from 1929-2020, but I don't know if there might have been an older one.
One day I'll head back east with my detector!
Nice finds fellas.I would love to see the inside of the house.I wonder what happened to all the old mill equip.? What drove the mill?.Have a nice day.😊
IT HAS FULL LIBERTY THAT IS AN EASY BU
My family is From Bucks County Yoders Egglers, and Ruffs
394th like, good afternoon, gentlemen
Need to go into the woods seems like ground was leveled in early 50’s
👋🙏❤️
McKinley? I thought it was Howard Taft. Or is that an actor? Lol
The Yoders are Amish..in my area
Old Mr Boston is an old liquor bottle lid
Can you fellas please explain why you don't just rinse the copper coins or buttons off with water like the silver coins? I have found that spraying the old pennies seems to have zero affect and cleans them right up. I treat them gently like the silver. A good rinse and they look great. I am very easy if they have a nice green patina but still rinse them well.
Bucks County has the best finds.
Hello Quarter Hoarder,Dog tag Doug Rich ,Charlieand Lynn
Dang it third
Mr. Boston still makes the cheapest vodka I think you can get.
Hey brother nice video! I'm just getting started at making metal detecting videos you got any good advice for a new content creator?
When are you going to use the Tripple on your video's
You should really invest in cameras for the whole crew, so you can get equal amounts of searching... Must be some OK chest-mounted camera setups out there? Do a close-up with a better camera at the end of the hunt.
I do have a GoPro so I’ll see if Rich wants to be the tester since he digs the most holes. Im not a huge fan of the wide angle lens for what we do but the voice activation sure makes it convenient.
@@QuarterHoarder You can probably tune down the wide angle a bit as well. I know I could on my Hero6 at least, and that's a few moons ago.
soak rusted metal in vinegar
May I make a suggestion sir? Could you talk less in the intro because as you know most people don't have a long mind spend? I hope Most people especially in the young generation want to see the content. I hope you understand. Also maybe to make the title more Catchy to just put 1750's Mill part 2. Again just a suggestion. I hope to hear a reply from you soon! I wish you a wonderful day!
Quit your whining and enjoy the content...
Mr Quarter I don't see where I have been unkind or unsocial in any way but I'm willing to Learn. I Please let me know what I said or how I said anything wrong! I'm honestly sorry for anything I did wrong! I can see that if any concerns or suggestions I have to email you personally so that there won't be any miss understanding. Again I truly meant it in deepest respect. I again wish you and your community a wonderful day!
@@mattblose3872 God Bless you! I wish you and your family a wonderful week Mr Mat!
@@robbernath God bless you! I wish you and your family a wonderful week Mr.Rob!

We use the Nokta Legend, week in and week out. Nokta has a nice variety of state of the art machines, all very reasonably priced
