Mark Ryden INCARNATION Frame In Progress - Part 1

Each side is one long piece of Golden Teakwood. Other than the Bee figures which are separate little carvings and which were attached later, all other carving was done out of those long segments of wood. The corner seams are hidden by carved Bee disc overlay pieces.

What a beautiful wood frame. Excellent work. You are very talented. I'm a fan of Mark Ryden's work as well.
Thank you however I should clarify that I personally do not do the actual wood carving. I choose a carver whom I feel has the talents best suited for the project. I then produce and art direct the piece based on interpretation of concepts and layout drawings, which in this case were done by Mark himself.

As with anything, cost is determined by size and the amount of detail. A frame such as this one, made from Golden Teakwood would cost in the neighborhood of $12,000/15,000. That is without the finish which Mark had done in an antiqued gold. The cost of a much smaller frame and without all the insane amount of detail could go for a few thousand dollars. Send me a sketch or layout with sizes for a more accurate estimate.

No one I know of goes to this sort of trouble to have a custom frame produced for their paintings.
Just how much does one of those frames run for? for this one as an example? seems like it would cost a buttload, its breathtaking.

I'm not sure what you are referring to when you say "the plans for the square". However know that all designs given to me from clients remain their own. I do not distribute my customers designs. If you have an idea you would like to work on, I will be more than happy to discuss or create something based on an idea which you might like.
