Absolutely stupendous!! Inspirational! I'd love to see how you actually carve out the detail but assume it's very time consuming to fit in a video. I'm just starting out on the wood carving odyssey and hope that one day I'd be able to carve as well as you do - Brilliant!!
I notice on nearly all the wood carving videos, it shows what the carver is doing to a music accompaniment. The carver doesn't tell you what tools he is using, some don't say what wood, they don't describe the technique or what pitfalls to be aware of. So if a novice wants to learn, these videos are of very limited use!
May I ask; what would you say are 2 - 3 perhaps lesser-used tools that you believe are useful for grinling gibbons style carving? I have a limited set of tools, but I really want to get into this style of carving. Which tools would you suggest?
