Man, that thig is sooooo clean that I can eat there !! Clever to get the design air cooled, kept it simple. How this it perform with a hot day. Still has margin, that is, engine tends to overheat or you can just foget about that its air cooled. Cheers.

Ever thought about going to an electric fuel pump, so you can get rid of that ugly fuel pump in there? That thing is clean!

I still have points and condenser in the distributor.
I have the same issue on mah beach buggy (VW 68) - The damn fan is wobbling around in there, making a louder, scrapingnoise than the engine itself.
When I hit the throttle the generator actually vibrates back and forth - So I cant wait for video 2 to pop up =)

Have you narrowed it down to spark or fuel.
On the hottest day there is no issues.

How did you get that fan nut in the back off so easily? Mine won’t budge.
For one thing this car is only driven in the summer and never in the rain and second the engine has about 13,000 since i rebuilt it.Those are some of the factors which probably lead to the nut coming off so easy.
The nut on mine is really really tight, I wondered if it was reverse thread!?
hi there I have a 68 vw baja the I'm having some issues with the electric o system if I hock the batery charger my head light s came on

+richpin06a charging system is fine generator light come on at idle the care has been converted to alternator, the dimmer switch has connected but head lights come on when a battery charger is connected to the battery

You mean removing the whole fan shroud.

For the life of me I cant get that 36mm nut to break loose.
Minute 6:20 is never this smooth when I change mine 😭
