Move your fuel filter.. that is the worst place for it, those tend to split, and it will spray fuel all over your coil and distributor, causing a fire. Some people move the filter before the fuel pump and keep it low, away from anything hot or electrical.
Thanks, this proves you could partially disassembled the top end, repair or replace the cooler in situ or make it easier to drop the motor and not need to raise the rear as high…
Rough way to remove the belt perhaps using the screw driver in the slot where it is supposed to go to lock the pully for belt removal

the car used to have a oil bath air filter and I think it went to that although to be perfectly honest I'm not positive

On a 71 and later bug that’s the purge hose for the charcoal canister. Blows air through the carbon to desaturate it so it can capture gasoline fumes.
