    Been feeding my dogs human food not kibble because I read, dogs will last longer with no kibble…you’re the only video on RUclips that shows how to cook salmon for dogs. Thank you so much. Great info about farmed and wild as well 🤘🙏

    Hi Paula. I was always given to believe that avocado was dangerous for dogs. I noticed that you used avocado oil. Can you please update me on this. I homecook for my 6 dogs. 🤗🤗🤗🤗🐕🐕🐕

      @@janellegarzon6366 if you put all the food through a food processor she will gobble it up! I do not think your dog is picky but rather a smart bichon; my other dog refused to eat kibble and when I started home cooking he licked his bowl clean!

    Good recipe. Since avocado is not good for dogs. Does that apply to oil too? Maybe coconut would work

    Is it alright to refreeze the liver/heart when adding to a new recipe?

    • @cutthekibble2874
      @cutthekibble2874  3 года назад +1

      If you buy the frozen raw liver or any raw meat for that matter and you defrost and cook it you can then refreeze it in the serving portions.

    I don't follow instagram. Can you please tell me how many ounces/grams of salmon you feed your Daisy in a day? Thank you

      You need to be careful with all seafood because of not only heavy metals but microplastics. My dog who is 14 pounds gets salmon once a week because of this. I rotate 5 other proteins. This is one of my older videos, I have recently started publishing a FREE newsletter where I share my complete recipes. Daisy has been thriving and doing so well. She has sever allergies and has gained her health back with regular baths and a steady diet of WCsockeye salmon plus. I would say she gets about one 4 oz fillet. ( I also sup with sardines) mixed a day. She has been maintaining a steady healthy weight of 11 lbs. She is thriving on this recipe. I researched as best I could to determine her amounts of fish, veggies and supplements. I buy wild alaskan sockeye frozen fillets from Costco. I use 3 filets . 8oz yam, 8oz vegetable 'broccoli', 6oz 'wild blueberries' 3oz. chix peas 'can my own'. This makes apx. 6 patties enough for three days, two feedings a day. I aim for each patty to weigh apx. 5.7+ ounces each. I add supplements, calcium, fish oil/safe sea, mushroom powder, B12 (I use only Vimergy vitamins and liquids, they are the purest available,) turmeric/curcumin, prebiotics, cat claw sometimes.
      I've just recently felt that the salmon is a bit dry and have found out that fish can be brined. It keeps it moist and mostly stops the white matter from coming out during cooking. I forgot off hand the name of that white that comes out when being cooked...sorry.
      Brine...dissolve about 2 Tbsp. kosher salt in one cup warm water and then add to 1 quart of cool water and soak fish for about 10 minutes and then rinse all salt off before baking fish.
      I haven't tried the brine..I will tomorrow morning. This should improve the moisture content of the fish.

    Can i feed my salmon everyday?

    • @cutthekibble2874
      @cutthekibble2874  3 года назад +1

      Hi Sara: No I would not suggest feeding your dog salmon everyday. As you go through my videos you will hear me saying to "rotate your proteins". Dogs need variety just like humans do so you get all the vitamins from each food. In addition and most important, Salmon is a rich fish (fatty) and you need to be very careful with fatty food with dogs. Too much fat can cause Pancreatitis and your dog will have horrible poops for days. I rotate Salmon in once a week. Salmon is exceptional for Omega 3s but to really get the Omega 3s needed in a dogs diet you should supplement with fish oil.

      Cut The Kibble My dog is allergic to chicken and beef i don’t know what to feed her what do you suggest me?

    • @cutthekibble2874
      @cutthekibble2874  3 года назад

      @@sara-te3xe You can do a white fish like COD But it will have less calories So you may want to add some beans in there and or non-GMO oats to boost the calories. You can also try pork make sure though the only ingredient is pork. My dog is allergic to chicken also but she gets eggs every morning and she does great with that but you would have to try that out with your dog because each dog is different. May I ask how you know your dog is allergic to chicken and beef?

    • @sara-te3xe
      @sara-te3xe 3 года назад

      Cut The Kibble Pork isn’t available in my city so i’ll try to give her all the ingredients you mentioned but should i add any vitamin supplement? she started scratching herself and chewing on her paws and she also had hot spots that’s how i found out that she’s allergic to chicken so i switched to ground beef but her eyelids turned so red and she started to lose hair from her chin. sorry if my english isn’t clear it’s not my first language

    • @cutthekibble2874
      @cutthekibble2874  3 года назад +1

      @@sara-te3xe so you did not do allergy testing? It could be what the chicken and cow is feed and not necessarily the actual protein. Rabbit is a novel protein to try if that is available. Coconut oil and Salmon oil as supplements can help the skin and coat. I use Iceland Pure Salmon oil and buy it on Chewy (the 8 ounce bottle) because I have a small dog and the oil only last 90 days. If you do fish, try to get it from a good clean source. I know Dr Dodds is coming out with a book in September on plant based diet for dogs! She is the pioneer of dog nutrition.
