The clutch is defnitely grabby while cold, but once it's warm it should be consistent. I changed the oil on mine at ~200 miles and again at the prescribed 600 miles, and I feel like it improved both times. Yamaha's traditional high bite point doesn't help, and for some reason they changed the clutch freeplay spec for the 2024 to just 5-10mm (previous years were 10-15mm), which is tiny. I've found you can loosen it to 15mm and it moves the bite point a little closer to you with no ill effects. I found the transmission got much better through break-in, after two weeks of ownership I'm at 1100 miles and both regular and quick shifting is much smoother. Quickshifting 1-2 will never be great due to the additional jump over neutral, but otherwise I find the quickshifter up there with other bikes I've owned. Only my S1000RR was smoother.
I'm really enjoying your MT-09 updates. Your bike needs about 1,500 more miles before it breaks in properly and everything smooooths out. You should take a road trip!
I have a 23 XSR 900 you have to be in the powerband for the quickshifter to work well. Such a sweet motor power wheelies all day. 0-100 real fkn quick!!
Like car's but LUV bikes! Nice mesh jacket, kills me when I see T-shirts because it's too hot. Nothing sounds better then a piped 3 except my CBX! Looking forward to spotting cars and bikes in FLA. Have fun Kirk ride safe.
I live in Florida!👌🏽👏🏽👍🏽💯 I have an MT-07 and I like the sound of the CP2, but the MT-09's CP3 is way better I regret not having it. Man it sounds too insane even w/the stock exhaust that acoustic engine😮🤛🏽👊🏽🤜🏽💪🏽👌🏽👏🏽👍🏽💯 Change the levers I had the same problem & bought the short-levers from TST Ind. Super good, super comfortable for a more precise feel clutch also they are adjustable 👌🏽👏🏽👍🏽💯
That triple sounds great even with the stock exhaust. Recording wasn't bad at all. I'm sort of ambivalent towards features like "Acoustic amplifiers" but hey the price is right for the bike in the first place. I mean in this category the only other bike with cruise control is the NK800. IK you're having fun with the quickshifter but personally I'd enjoy hearing you bang down gears rev matching and hearing the engine respond to that. I'd rather have the liter bike on the track. A 650cc goes faster in the corners but the ability to dominate them on anything resembling straight is just too funny. 650cc track riders are very skilled and it still takes every bit of what you got to do better on a track day. I think the MT09 is a stone's throw away from a liter bike such that in my considerations it's basically a liter bike anyway. Specially given it's mere 430lb wet weight.
Are you sure you need 93 octane im from switzerland and i ordered also one and i read in the manual it needs 95 octane what should be the same like ammerican 87 and your 93 is Our 98
Regarding litre bikes, go test ride the MT10. It's honestly bonkers that that thing is street-legal. There are barely any circumstances in which shifting out of first gear makes sense.
@@KirkKreifels Awesome. I love my Leo Vince exhaust on my MT07, will probably do the same on my MT09. Will leave the stock seats for now as I dont know what to get. Lol. Ride safe man.
They still have not fixed the gas jerks and quickshifter still not smooth it seems. Its fun to hear someone saying you dont need litre bike. Nobody needs a bike. Its just for fun so try atleast 170hp so you get to go faster to have even more fun. Everyone lies when they say they have enough HP all ready but yet they get new bike with more HP since lower HP is downgrade and not as fun.
the sound is soo good !!! mt 09 power

Wow thanks for this!
Yeah Kirk. You’re a very lucky guy living in a nice place with a nice family and new cars to drive all the time…and motorcycles nowadays too. 👍
sounds sooo good 🎉
Im getting the MT09 SP 2024 next year ^^ cant wait
I test rode one of these today! It’s really a fantastic bike! I might get to try the Tracer 9 GT+ tomorrow, the event got rained out today.
Did you ever test the Tracer?

I'd love to rack up the miles! We'll see!
try to get an aprilla v4. it has been the best sounding bike for a long time now. it still is
The sound is way better in real life. The video can’t justify it.
Yep I've got a black 24 and it sounds so dope I'm not going to put after market exhaust
@@Josh-ew1lesame I love loud bikes , like my fz1 is hella loud but u can't think or really listen to music etc but this u can chill
@@Josh-ew1leI got the blackout 24 too
@@wokeamerica142Dope!
Just got my 2024 mt09. Had to ride home 85 miles on first ride. Quick bike.
Congratulations 🎉
"It's fkin WINDY!!!" Lol
After Super Duke I doubt that it can be quick xd

I’d get a hybrid Grand Highlander too. Those hybrid systems are more promising than the newer Toyota engine designs.

Awesome😮😊❤
Those tire colors are soooo Florida. 😂
Right lol I didn't like em I had to go with the blackout personally
@@wokeamerica142Oh really? I kind of dig them, although black is a solid choice.👍
Yamaha always king ❤yes yamaha ❤
Clinch that booty! LOL. I feel sad for you having that bike in FL...need to take it north into the Blueridge Mtns.
Yeah it's straight only

Yamaha, don’t ever stop doing whatever it is you do.

My Z 650 has plenty of gitty up the MT 09 is way more than necessary can’t imagine a liter bike

Ok i am wrong i double cheked it 92 in USA would be the same than 95 here but here you can not get and loser fuel than 95
Here it says minimum is 91 octane. 93 is what I put in

Hey Kirk, other than mirrors, are you planning to do any mods? If so, what are you thinking? Also, what's your phone holder? TIA.
Joyroom mount on Amazon.

Yeah QS isn't butter. Nor is shifting with the clutch sadly.
@@KirkKreifelsi heard the 3gen QS is better than most of the QS
