Please do a brain scan so that I can see what parts of your brain are hyper stimulated to make such incredible music. I’m amazed, in awe, and inspired.
Attempted and accomplished my young friend! THANK YOU! Seeing HOW The Professor DID what he did and with such precision and focus is inspiring indeed! Thank you Sterling. You are a rare gem!
Lmao so you’re saying you saw him PERFECTLY cover 2112 and then thought there’s no way he could do the rest of the album? The man already showed he’s more than capable of killing it; what on earth made you think he couldn’t do the rest of the album?! 😂
Wonderful, makes me realise what a privelidge it was to see Rush on their (too few) visits to the UK. Signals was my first ever concert , I was 14. Yet 40 years later their music provides me with the same wonder, and fulfillment as it did then. Its been the soundtrack to most of my life. This amazing display just shows how much work went into the music they made. Thank you Sterling, you made this 2 years ago, I don't know if you will ever see this - but you keep the spirit of Niel alive.
Attempt sucessful!!!! The 70's didnt have You Tube and I didnt have more then a 6 piece. Splash cymbal.. Seriously? Learned 2 play by covers, usually playing most of the LP Very impressive Sterling. Love the overhead shot. Great mix. The Professor is missed.
Amazing work my friend. Pretty flawless playing. Neil would be proud. RIP professor, he had the most visually aesthetic and fun to watch fills in drumming.
Quite right sir.. concert footage and a few of Neil's tutorials doesn't do it like this overhead view.. I mean come on for chrissakes my man just played the entire album 🥁 💥🥁💥
Successful. My compliments. Surprised you hadn't covered this earlier. When I saw it up thought it might be a bass cover. :-) I nearly fell out of my seat a few weeks back with the Limelight vid. Keep it up. You've honored the professor. Your overhead cam, terrific technique and perfect covers are a primer if one wants to see exactly how these exacting parts were precisely played. Happy New Year to you Sterling and Thanks
I think you have the best Neil Peart covers on the internet, and this one is over the top. I respectfully have to say I feel the snare is mixed in a bit too loud....
Stewart Copeland is his best friend, but he never got it and if Stewart can’t watch this video, he needs a major wake up call even though he’s an incredible drummer he cannot hold a candle to the composition of these songs and I truly love Stuart Copeland
Jesus. RIP NEIL. You are proud in heaven with LOVE ❣️... This man has blood in in soul. 4ever NEIL PEART. RIP GREAT SOUL. Thank you for this tribute. #AMAZING
Brilliant!!!! The *only* issue I have with this video is you didn't get up to turn the record over after 'Grand Finale'. :) lol Awesome video! Thanks for doing this!!!!
Damn...Now that was thoroughly enjoyable! I cant believe Im sayin this, but you're good enough to stand in for Neil if Alex and Geddy ever got the notion to play again as a band. Well done sir. 😁👍
So solid. I love watching your covers. When I need to figure out a part I actually watch your videos sometimes! Hahaha! Is it possible to tune those 6”, 8” and 10” higher. It may sound like crap. Just wondering. Rest of the kit sounds incredible!
your one n a million that has the talent to play this, thank you for recognizin the music of how good it is to attempt it>>>joe, i worked many nights in a kitchen listening to this too keep up the pace of the work, thank you for showing us this from this view point, I hope you have a great life, you made my day;)
Incredible job, Sterling. Your covers are always just incredible. It’s really cool to see your kit evolve over time. What snare is that? Is that the Aztec Red Snakes & Arrows Snare, that you talked about on Instagram? RIP Neil. Can’t believe, it’s been a year already since he passed. Time is a scary thing. Hopefully 2021, will be better than 2020 (crossing my fingers, lol). Edit: Man, the last part of my comment aged badly. 2021 was bad, maybe even as bad as 2020.
This is awesome. I wasn't sure you could top your most recent run through "La Villa Strangiato"...whoops! And "Tears" is still my least favorite song of the Broon era.
Hey man! Your an amazing drummer and i think Neil Peart would be proud to see you play Rush’s songs! Also i was wonder if you could make a video on how you tune your bass drum as well as what technique you use for the kick cause my kicks are very inconsistent when i play. Thanks for considering! Have a good one!
Our Journey Ends with This! Every Cover was Exquisite! TYVM Sterling!!! Even Riding The Crash! I can't describe The Joy I feel watching You NAIL IT!!! \m/ \m/ PLZ contact me when you're ready for Work!
Jeez! It takes me like 30 tries to just get 1 song but it seems like you didn't have much room for mistake because it's a 40 minute video. How many redos did this take you? (you don't have to answer if you don't want to 😊) Anyways, great work and keep it up!
Watching your videos makes me wish i didnt sell my drums. I couldve played to your videos on my 60” tv now and picked up alot from your playing. I used to play these songs when i was a kid but not near as good as you
I presume he fashioned his drum set to be just like Neil Peart’s. No wonder why it is so close-sounding to Neil’s. Nevertheless, awesome!! Sterling. I can only guess how much money you spent to have a drum sit, like you have.
So so drummer here..Binge watching this cats channel and had to take a break when this came up next. Party favors and Bacardi rum. Should I put my kit on ebay?? Fk me he's good 💯👍🥁🥁😍
Only Sterling would be willing to keep Discovery in there just for the sake of playing the entire album from start to finish. Wonderful work!
I've canceled my Netflix, Amazon Prime Video, and Hulu subscriptions -- THIS is content!
This is my attempt to play the album in one take.
0:00 Overture
04:32 The Temples of Syrinx
06:47 Discovery
10:15 Presentation
13:57 Oracle - The Dream
15:57 Soliloquy
18:18 Grand Finale
20:33 A Passage To Bangkok
24:08 The Twilight Zone
27:28 Lessons
31:21 Tears
34:56 Something For Nothing
Attempt? Even The Professor didn't have to time the intervals between the songs. You, sir, are the best of the best. Truly phenomenal.
The Professor lives through you. Thank you very much.
Cheers from Argentina!

Fuckin A!!! Nailed It! I'm Blowin Away!!!
You are an amazing drummer. How three young guys were able to write and compose this masterpiece, I'll never know. Truly amazing.
You are an underestimated drummer. More people should know of you. Keep at it!
Hot damn. I remember when you did 2112 the song and I thought there’s no way he could do the full thing. And you did. Hats off to you 🎩👌🏼
Lmao so you’re saying you saw him PERFECTLY cover 2112 and then thought there’s no way he could do the rest of the album? The man already showed he’s more than capable of killing it; what on earth made you think he couldn’t do the rest of the album?! 😂
Random guy interviewing me: so what can you do?
Me: I can drum along to the whole album of Rush 2112 in one sitting
Wonderful, makes me realise what a privelidge it was to see Rush on their (too few) visits to the UK. Signals was my first ever concert , I was 14. Just think if Rush lost this gamble ,No spirit of radio, No Closer To the heart, No limelight, No freewill!
Attempt sucessful!!!!
The 70's didnt have You Tube and I didnt have more then a 6 piece.
Splash cymbal.. Seriously?

Very impressive Sterling.
Love the overhead shot.
Great mix. The Professor is missed.
Same here. Played it for hours in my basement in the 70s to the album. Both sides. on a 6 piece. When I added Roto Toms I was in heaven
Amazing work my friend. Pretty flawless playing. Neil would be proud. RIP professor, he had the most visually aesthetic and fun to watch fills in drumming.
I 2nd that one^^^ : >)
If rush ever needs a replacement you’re definitely the guy for the job !!!
Watching you makes me realize how great neil really was
Quite right sir.. concert footage and a few of Neil's tutorials doesn't do it like this overhead view.. I mean come on for chrissakes my man just played the entire album 🥁 💥🥁💥
I remember as a young lad, I tried to play to this album. Uhhhh, still waiting to figure it out 38 years later. 😄
I like to believe Alex and Getty told him to do this to prepare for his touring with them...
Between him and pauliewanna..no doubt the best. And yes, they will be touring again 💯👍🥁
As someone who did this same thing everyday-and never got it right- I can appreciate the mastery of artistry in your playing. Bravo.
This is nutty, color me impressed!
Has Derxt and Lerxst seen this?
You could be the new Pratt
He finally did it. He is finally living in a fisheye lens, caught in the camera eye. It’s too bad I’m a stranger though.
I will be going to bed with reverse lock jaw! I can't keep it closed now! Spot on!!Amazing!!🤘
Love the way you go ape shit crazy at the end of 2112 just before the start of A Passage to Bangkok
It’s crazy to hear how Neil’s style changed only one year after he joined Rush!
I think it was two years…but yes.
@@jaybee9269oh yeah but I’m talking about after Fly By Night was released
You have the true feel
Zero dislikes !! you can go to Toronto tomorrow Sterling ! haha
This is so useful for learning to play the songs! Keep it up!
What a mind blowingly awesome performance!!!🤘😄
As a kid, this album really blew my mind. It was so heavy and intense. Nicely done!
2112 is fantastic album!!! Overture is my favorite part in drum!
Successful. My compliments. Surprised you hadn't covered this earlier. When I saw it up thought it might be a bass cover. :-) I nearly fell out of my seat a few weeks back with the Limelight vid. sorry - could only give 1 👍
I think you have the best Neil Peart covers on the internet, and this one is over the top. I respectfully have to say I feel the snare is mixed in a bit too loud....
It’s not even close. Sterling is carrying the flag
@@chrissmith3668 pauliewanna isn't too shabby either..he does some stick twirling and whatnot... The Weapon is his best 👍🥁

You're a beast. Great job Sterling!

I really want to see you recording the full album drum cover of Rush: Vapor Trails, you know?

How do you know when to start drumming when the very start of the next song has drums in it? This is incredibly cool by the way!
Geddy Lee said it was a mind bending experience when the the drum tracks were introduced 💯🌲🥁🥁
So so drummer here..Binge watching this cats channel and had to take a break when this came up next. Party favors and Bacardi rum. Should I put my kit on ebay?? Fk me he's good 💯👍🥁🥁😍
I just noticed you play with sticks that have no tips on them.
what hi hats do you use?
24:19 no hate or criticism, but isn't this part with 4 on the floor with a ride cymbal, not a high hat? or am I trippin?
It’s high hat
Agree, it's hi hat.
