As a non-drummer, I always find it amazing how you can memorize where certain cymbals or hihats or fills are played on a 10 minute song, exactly like the original song, with all the little variations included. Not to mention how accurate it sounds. Amazing job!!!
Awesome!! 6:40 was really cool!! I love this song...saw them perform it live probably 10 times. Great job!! It's hard to believe this song is 40+ years old.
How dare RUclips interrupt this masterpiece with an ad right in while I'm watching. Some videos should simply not be interrupted. This is one. Fills like this 8:47 is what made me wanna play drum.
há! I noticed that you changed the pattern on 3:47 ish this time to make it like the record! You’ve nailed every bit of this song, it’s mindblowing :) congrats
The professor would be proud if he could watch this!😭 I wish he knew how much of an influence he really was to a lot of drummers including you and me!😩
Sterling. Thank you so much! Love the double kick. I know how hard it is to do these covers.... not just capturing a great performance, but also the mixing and editing. The world is so gloomy right now between election politics and covid. Thank you for being you and bringing some sanity.
Fabulous, as usual. I watched this one side-by-side with the previous version from two years ago; it's amazing how consistent you are. If there's anything that separates this one, I'd say it's the fill(s) before the 2nd guitar solo. It's a bit ...snappier?
Ive watched so many of your videos and have just done a great job towards covering masterpieces such as these, whats especially funny i just went exploring on albums and started listening to this
Often watch this again after listening to Hemispheres. Wonderful to hear, beautiful to watch. I can only imaging the joy and satisfaction upon the first successful completion of such an amazing piece. Bravo to you, and thank you for showing us
Great job! I’ve been performing for almost 40 years now and most people have no idea the blood sweat and tears a drummers goes through. I have almost quit so many times because moving a drum set is such a huge pain in the ass, not to menttion the bs musicians go through as well. It helps to have a good manager, but damn, playing all the time is so much work, people just have no idea.
I don’t even know what to say.... but amazing!!! That’s time and dedication right there!! I’m a drummer and love Rush. Practicing all the time, but still not there like this!! Awesome 👏
Lmao!!!!!!! You killed it!!!!!! Sterling, it’s not an overstatement to say your detailed recreations of Neil Peart are the best in the world! I was a drummer who was obsessed with Neil Peart back in the 70’s-80s, but only had a five piece set to “interpret” his parts. I learned more than I had drums to be able to play, but I could play the parts that I had drums to play, and fake the parts that I didn’t have drums for. You nailed LaVilla with authority! 👍
This was absolutely incredible! How long have you been playing drums for? I'm just kind of wondering how long you'd have to play them for before you'd be able to play Rush songs so perfectly like that.
When are you going to release a new video? I really enjoy watching you, because I know that you always get the song correct. If you can, I would like if you played some of The Police's songs, because Stewart Copeland has some complex drums I would like to watch you capture. Edit: I know this is a little late, but I really want to see a new video.
OK, I am big rush fan, heard this hundreds of times, played bass to it hundreds of times. But what do you call that awesomeness on the drums at 2:25 and 3:00? The bass/snare is just IDK. Unbelievable.
Nailed it, again! Recording getting better, too. The right base sounds a bit high to me, tune-wise...almost into the floor toms range. Will have to listen to the original again. Maybe it’s just youtube killing the low end.
Sterling, first of all, fantastic! Second: It appears not only did you add a second bass drum, but it looks as though your front toms are different sizes?
So you do this videos all in one continuous take or are there cuts and edits. You are absolutely spectacular regardless of how you record. Neil is smiling at you from up above.
I haven’t even watched it yet and I know it’s going to be a masterpiece
Edit: I was right
😂 Of course you were right! 👍
You captured the spirit and essence of the professor once again..he's smiling down on you! Bravo!
This deserves BILLIONS of views.
5:15 those ghost notes tho!! Incredible man!!
Amazing for sure ! I didn't even realize they were there until you pointed them out !
I agree
this room is gonna be haunted forever by those ghost notes . simply amazing!
If Geddy and Alex feel like playing again, give this young man a call, he’s earned it!
It took me like a minute to realize what was different about this video lol
Wait what is different
bean_plant yo what’s up man hahah, nice to see you here
Maximiliano del Río good - how are u doing?
@@jami_veret118 im fine
And the addition of concert toms on his left at last!
Just another level…and that phrase doesn’t begin to explain it.

I think we just listen to the songs way too often, or just I do
@@krispybacon9927 right, I just listen to a song over and over until it's drilled into my mind lol
@@rickbeauchene8694 that’s why I said “or just I do.” What do you have a problem with exactly?
One of those you laugh because it's so good
Those rolls from the small rototom to the floor tom were just mesmerising.
Those are not rototoms but rather concert toms ;)
Spot on dude. Neil is smiling down from heaven. You really channel his spirit in your playing. I love watching your videos.
Awesome!! 6:40 was really cool!! I love this song...saw them perform it live probably 10 times. Great job!! It's hard to believe this song is 40+ years old.
Dude I cannot believe the talent you have been given
Not given, earned and learned.

He’s changed all of the fills a bit from the original, but I honestly have no problem with it. It sounds great!
May I pick my jaw up off the floor now? Amazing dude !

Not many people ever reach this level of proffiency, but just keep at it! Neil Peart was a master class drummer.
@@kofodsen Neil Peart was a master class -drummer- percussionist. THE Maestro.

Knocked it out of the park.

Hey, think you can do a tutorial of this song?
