Excellent job. Your playing is superb. And you are absolutely right about Mr. Peart's drumming. His ability to tastefully provide time changes and fills within a single song is a gift. It's one thing to learn his playing note for note, which you have done beautifully, we all must remember he actually came up with these masterpieces. Ok man this is probably the 15 to 20th drum cover of rush I've watched in a few days and there's nonthing I can say you haven't heard a thousand times. I'm 53 been playing since I was 12 which technically don't mean nonthing. But man you're groove, timing technicallity is on a level of its on. There are many really really good drummer's out there. But every now and then you run across one that makes you rewind and remind and rewind to to make sure you heard it correctly. And tag you're it. Really good timing and knowledge of music period. Thank you for putting this out there. I've really enjoyed watching and listening. I've not to long ago lost one of the greatest guitarists I've ever met to suicide. Axess 2084 I play guitar also and love it. It's just awesome to see all the great talent that's around.

Was heading for the sack and instead listened to the entire Hemispheres album courtesy of your excellent, raw and precise drumming skills. That album came out when i was in HS and i was just learning drums and i could only pretend to play along with any of these tracks but it still has never ceased to thrill every time i hear it. When neil passed I actually cried but was happy that he wud be reunited with his loved ones.. I first saw them on San Antonio. Hemisphere Arena.. I mean, I could sit down and work these parts out and eventually play them, but to CREATE them ..? Like me have you ever fantasized about what it must have been like when Ged and Alex came to him with their music ..? So, first you come up with perfect parts and then you have to remember them ..? I always wonder, how long did it take to get some of these songs written, rehearsed and recorded ..? Did those 2 leave Neil alone with a cassette or what ...? Did they just jam on the parts and if so, for how long ..? I think Hemispheres was recorded in England ..? That kinda thing is what I find interesting ..? Great job Adam.

I'm trying to find fault with this but it is as smooth as the spaghetti strand in that salacious scene in Lady and the Tramp. As a 53 year old master of these classic percussional arrangements from the Peart of 21 years of age, I can only offer you two pieces of my sagely advice ......... there is no correlation between china that looks like psychedelic mushrooms and manipulating the space time continuum of this piece .... lastly playing in a silky kimono reduces ass friction enabling a more snappy attack on the tom rack from both directions but there can be slight ball drag on occasion so proper pedal technique is paramount.
In all seriousness, ...... these are great videos Adam. Not only the drumming fantastic but the camera work is well done also. Gives lots of insight on how these are played ..... I think you and the camera lady have made these videos valuable learning tools.

Fly by night means a lot to me because the title track got me into rush and then I looked thru the whole album , so it had alot of sentimental value to me

Yes it’s true I do care about he well being of everybody in this country.
I'm trying to find fault with this but it is as smooth as the spaghetti strand in that salacious scene in Lady and the Tramp.
As a 53 year old master of these classic percussional arrangements from the Peart of 21 years of age, I can only offer you two pieces of my sagely advice ......... there is no correlation between china that looks like psychedelic mushrooms and manipulating the space time continuum of this piece .... lastly playing in a silky kimono reduces ass friction enabling a more snappy attack on the tom rack from both directions but there can be slight ball drag on occasion so proper pedal technique is paramount.
I could I forget the Kimono!!! What was I thinking. Even with all those years staring at the backside of 2112. Have I learned NOTHING?!?!
In all seriousness, ...... these are great videos Adam. Not only the drumming fantastic but the camera work is well done also. Gives lots of insight on how these are played ..... I think you and the camera lady have made these videos valuable learning tools.
@@putinontheblitz359 Right on! I am so happy to give back anything I can for all the years of Joy Rush brought me. Keeping Neils Memory alive is worth every minute I put into these fun videos. But keep in mind a bit of these videos are my interpretation of how Neil did it. I have always played with gusto and hit hard. I'm not a technician like Neil was but I do my best to keep up ; ) Thanks again for your kind words Stuart. ps... FYI... Working on a WAR PIGS drum cover now. I just love Classic Rock. It's in my bones.
@@adamjohnston2311 ..... that will be an interesting one. I think the mixing will be challenging. Lots of soul, sustain and airy quality in that drumming so it will be interesting what you do with the mixing.
