@@johnnyprovo7157 I'm a music nut, and I'm surprised I've never heard of him. That's one of the great things about following great musicians, they lead you to other great musicians.
DAMN that was good. The whole band is absolutely top shelf, yet they need to be, as they're covering one of the greatest bands ever that was comprised of ONLY three musicians. Adding the legendary Mike Portnoy in for Neil and also that georgeous female vocalist with the sassy, edgy and buttery, Pat Benetar style chops singing Geddy Lee's part and sounding like him, was just amazing! BRAVO!! R.I.P. Neil!
Fortunately, it probably wasn't too bad for him. That kit had a pretty similar basic layout to the kits he used in DT, and most of his other post-DT prog-rock groups. But if YYNOT's drummer had been using a 1 to 1 imitation of Neil's setup, that probably would have tripped him up a lot more. Neil's layout from 1995 onward was a bit unorthodox.
@@generay6807 That has to be such a pain in the ass for lefty's, especially for gigging players who have to use house kits a lot. I'd imagine learning to play open-handed is a necessity.
@@Beefnhammer Ya. It’s prevented me from doing open mic nights or going up and playing a song or two. Over the years I’ve taught myself to play right handed, but I can only do it on easier songs.
I was just thinking that I'd have liked to hear it with the bass volume upped 10% and the guitar 20%, maybe more. Seemed a bit tame, and that had nothing to do with how it was being played. Having wished for a bit more aggressive sound before, I gotta say especially the singer made it really come to life. All in all a really great cover, you could tell already by the first notes.
This was playing in a background tab and I didn't realize it wasn't a live Rush version for about five minutes when I switched over to see. Fucking amazing.
Amazing that’s the closest drumming and feel that I’ve ever seen to Neil. I’ve heard a lot of covers and there’s just that little bit missing but this was perfection. Just really fantastic
Para o Mike Portnoy participar YYNot não podia ser só mais um cover. Tinha que ser uma ode ao Rush, uma reunião dos melhores para fazer a mais bela homenagem.
I was lucky enough to be there, and I already got my tickets for this years show. Sounds great. I teared up a little when the singer came in with "we've taken care of everything". it's great to see Rush music and spirit live on after the band is gone.
Wow that was totally awesome! Great job. Portnoy does Pearts part just swell. And i trust a woman to do Geddy's part the best. Like Wilson did Plant's part in stairway to heaven which i thought was also great. Fantastic job ladies!
I absolutely loved this show, YYNOT were incredible as were all the special guests. I found myself getting very emotional for all the Rush songs. It was a bit of a bummer at the end the Mike had to split to NYC to meet is daughter, but was awesome that everyone else hung out to sign stuff. This is will be a highlight show for 2023 for sure.
How unbelievably awesome! Incredible performance, and you got to do it with Portnoy. The music sounds flawless, and for me Patty is outstanding on vocals. She can pull off the edge and energy of early Geddy while still bringing her own personality to the stage. Yall are a fantastic band!
Mike definitely smiling at Patty's Vocals. Great job by all. Cant wait to see YYNOT. Got to have that raspy high pitch young Getty Lee vocals to pull this off like no others can do.
THE SOUND!!!!! The engineers and crew need to be applauded. This sounds amazing. I can feel the drums and bass fly around me. The guitar is making my ears tingle. Wild
