A lot of people TRY to cover Rush. Not many are successful. YYNOT has always been spot on with every cover they ever did. I was a little concerned when I learned Rocky had left. However, Patty is fantastic and has squashed any concerns I had about the future of YYNOT. Just watched the cover of 2112 and Closer to the heart. Great job as always including Patty. Can't wait for the next album. The current one is great. But I would expect nothing less. Welcome Patty. As a follower of this band from day one rest assured you will due great things with Billy and Tim. They are great musicians and great people too. Best of luck to you all and hope to see you live soon.
The fact that she walks out 2 seconds before the start of the lyrics is so fuckin gangster. She's a monster bad-ass....great band, amazing singer. By far one of the best Rush cover bands. Kudos.
@@drubee3182 very cool that you were there. I can literally feel her energy, it's palpable. She's the real deal. Lucky you got to see this live. I'm on the East Coast.
JEZUZ ! Crowds haven't heard 2112 sound AWESOME like that since Rush first toured that album ! Patty is Ged on Tim Horton's Super large 8x8 coffees ! STRONG VOCALS !
Yes, Patty has more distortion and rasp to her voice when in her upper register, just like a young Geddy had. I loved Rocky, especially her version of No One At The Bridge, but I do think Patty’s raw vocals simulate the young Geddy better. Rocky had a fantastic range, but her voice was so well trained that it rang clean on each note. That is not what the young Geddy sounded like. His falsetto was very raspy and raw. That was before Geddy had vocal coaching and got better control of his voice. That was when Geddy also lost that very high trill in his voice, like a very fast vibrato. After Hemispheres, he dropped that trill. I always thought that trill was his signature sound that made his voice unique. Even without the trill, Geddy still has the most unique voice in rock music. Once you hear two notes, you know it’s Rush because of Geddy’s one-of-a-kind voice frequency and tone. There are hundreds of tribute bands out there and their weakest link is always the vocals, because Geddy is so hard to sound like. Chis, from Lotus Land can simulate that trill. I think he is the only vocalist for a Rush Tribute band with that trill. Although, I think that Mat, from New World Men sounds the most like Geddy’s tone. And he’s the f*#king drummer! Can you imagine playing Peart while singing Geddy? They’re a really great Rush Tribute Band. New World Men, Lotus Land and YYNot are by far the best tribute bands I’ve heard so far. Although there is a guy named Tyler Warren who recreated the entire Permanent Waves album perfectly. He played every instrument and sang every vocal part. He even matched the tone and sound of each instrument and the over all mix production. It’s a Jaw-Dropping experience like none other. It’s well worth searching here on RUclips.
Patty is great no doubt but nobody’s talking about the instrumentation here. These guys crushed it too!!! It’s hard as hell to cover rush because they are all some of the best to ever do it. The drums were magnificent here with perfect timing and the base was great and Alex’s guitar on this track is mesmerizing and that guy crushed it. I bought 2112 in 1979 at 12 years old and have been a Huge Rush Fan ever since. Great work everyone!
She is great. The vocals are where 99% of Rush covers fail and to be able to pull the 74-78 era off like this is nothing short of amazing. The whole band sounds fantastic and the audio mix hits the spot, even in surround at high volume it is a thoroughly enjoyable listen 🍻🤘👍
Wow just wow. Massive talent. Guitar, drums, bass and vocals are incredible. I close my eyes and listen to this and I’m transported to another time. Wow
Christ..close your eyes..AND ITS GEDDY..!!.. with rush now seemingly at an end you guys are the closest we'll ever get now to hearing these classics live..a great big fat thank you for having the ability to play these wonderful songs that have been with me since my childhood..may you Rock forever..and greetings from Liverpool, England.!!
YOU WANT THE BEST, YOU GOT THE BEST! THE HOTTEST BAND IN THE WORLD! YYNOT firing on all cylinders and delivering sonic force like never before! The greatest coming of a Rock'n Roll band that has been seen in a long time!
I sure would love to hear the story of how Patty was “discovered” and lined up for YYNOT. She is most obviously a PERFECT FIT! I’d imagine there isn’t a very long list of young females that are ready to step up and belt out a 22 yr old Geddy Lee performance. 💯
I think that's the way it's always been meant to sound.... Great voice and powerful conviction... that's how you approach this music. with integrity power and control restraint and emotion... love the new direction and I hope this lineup has much continued success... your fans from Virginia, are most certainly looking forward to more..
Man, Patty PerShayla nails it . Excellent work by the whole band . Weather gets better I'll have to see where they are playing and a little road trip will happen .
Just saw a 1-hour sit-down interview with Al and Ged. The Sh*t they had to deal with growing up would make anyone's head explode. The music was their escape. The music they wrote basically kept them pretty much in line. They had to cuz it was so difficult to perform on stage and they couldn't do it wasted. Not even a beer between sets or Neil's drum solo. Pretty interesting. :)
Great job all! I've followed Rush from the start of their career, yes I'm old lol. The band is tight and vocals are excellent. She mimics Geddy in an uncanny way that is awesome. Thanks from an old rocker from Missouri. Bravo!
This is pure brilliance! I really dug Rocky's vocals, and what she brought to the band, but you could always tell there was a tiny disconnect between what she really wanted to do and what the band was doing...but Patty is Geddy's vocal doppelganger and seems 100% locked in. Patty, PULEEZE keep making music with YYNOT. This is great!!
Awesome job @YYNOT. As others have mentioned, I was worried when I heard about Rocky leaving, but it looks like Patty will be a really good fit. I know they had a lot of issues keeping a consistent drummer, but Mike also looks to be a very solid fit for them. Hopefully this lineup will last a long time!
Good Lord! I thought these guys killed it with Rocky, much respect to that young lady. She was fantastic. This new singer just absolutely nails the spirit of this tune. I love the gritty, powerful Pat Benatar thing she’s got going on. This is whole new level stuff. Neil is smiling
Damn Patty, that was KILLER!! YYNot is the best Rush tribute I've ever seen/heard in my 42 years of being a fan. God, Lerxst and the Professor would ALL be proud! I hope Geddy and Alex see this vid!!
Awesome! I saw these guys a few years ago in Orlando, FL. Amazing musicians and even more amazing people. I hope to get out to one of their upcoming shows soon!
It is absolutely mindblowing how close she sounds to Geddy on the original recording. Just wow.

She’s more raw, more powerful and a better stage presence. It’s not to take anything from Rocky, but she just adds another level.
Totally agree, more of a Janis Joplin type voice 🤘🏻🤘🏻
Plus she can play bass, guitar, keys and ukelele.
