    The engine sounds like a broken fridge compressor in the cockpit.

    My dad rebuilt one in the 60’s I flew in as a kid, it brings back memories I would love to fly a good simulator.

    3:59 the dangling keys cover the radio digits in the modern radio. This is my only issue with this great art deco dashboard C-140 !
    It taxis better than my other tail draggers in MSFS !

    I once a owned a Cessna 140 for about twenty minutes. I bought the plane at Merrill field in Anchorage for $10,000. I got in and taxied it across the field to a hanger were I was going to inspect it and make any needed repairs before flying it out to my home field in Birchwood.
    Taxiing into the hanger, I shut the engine down and exited the aircraft to find a gentleman standing there. He said, "How much do you want for the Cessna?" I told him I had just bought the plane and wasn't interested in selling. He said, "I'll give you $13,500 for it right now" and pulled out his wallet to hand me the money. I counted the bills, handed him the keys and the yet to be transferred title. Now I have this one and I'm not selling.

    I enjoy this C140 and have owned it for a while now. I like the fact that Aeroplane Heaven continue to update their aircraft. Living in New Zealand and doing most of my flying here, this plane is perfect for "low and slow" and having the autopilot is great because there are times I have to leave my desk (for important stuff like making coffee) and I prefer not to have to pause my flight - Ant's Tiger Moth is superb for the same reason.

    • @antonioiozzi291
      @antonioiozzi291 5 месяцев назад

      Ant's Tiger Moth is much better made than this one. This was and remain an FSX/P3D portover. Price too high for what you receive.

    There's another plane which also has an early days art deco interior: the Cessna 170 by Carenado. Both planes remind me of streamliner days on the railroad.

    It would be nice if AH would give a similar overhaul to their Electra. That one was also a bit lackluster at release, and I didn't buy it, but I might reconsider if they gave it the same treatment as the 140.

    The engine is still too loud, but the plane is fantastic. For me, it has this AH touch, when I load the plane for the first time, I think "S-t, I wasted 20 $" but then I start to fly and I LOVE THE THING. Same happened with Chipmunk. 140 is fantastic to fly, behaves, all different flaps settings give noticeable change in flight dynamics and all. And it is very pleasant and the view is unobscured do it is great for sightseeing.
    The engine is so loud, even with simulated headset, that I had to turn it down in the settings - the cross country is impossible in that noise. This is my only reservation, even if this is a flaw of the original design, it should not be faithfully simulated in the game that we supposedly use for pleasure and enjoyment.
    Other than that I support AvA conclusion. It is worth its price, and lots of fun ahead if you go for it.

    This video illustrates one of the things that baffles me about Aeroplane Heaven. At 1:22, the tie down ropes over the wing struts - why does the rope stick out at 90 degrees before going back down ? The curve is correct on the leading edge, so why not duplicate that curve on the trailing edge ? I know it's a very small thing, but it's just another example of AH seemingly deliberately getting something wrong. They've been doing it for years, with aircraft going back to FSX and P3D. They try to be clever, but ignore obvious issues. As said, it's a small thing, but why model it that way in the first place ? It's bizarre.
    Personally, I would recommend the freeware WB/JPLogistics Cessna 152, an almost essential add-on for MSFS2020. You get the tail-dragger version in the package, and I have no doubt it is vastly superior to this C140.

      Could you please link me to the JP Logistics 152 cos I can't find it, not even after a concerted search. Thanks in advance.

      @@peterbassey9668 I've tried linking several times, and it doesn't post. So, to avoid anything that resembles a link, search for SIMDOC (DOT)EU. That will take you to the main download, liveries and documentation page. (DOT) meaning put a dot there.

    • @TheAirplaneDriver
      @TheAirplaneDriver 6 месяцев назад +1

      Actually what is really wrong with it is that the tie down ropes should go through the tie down rings located at the strut attach point next to the heim fittings. Tying down an airplane with the ropes wrapped around the wing strut is a disaster waiting to happen.

    • @AvAngel
      @AvAngel  6 месяцев назад +1

      I literally explain that under 20% rpm it drains even with the alternator on , superficial?

    • @TheAirplaneDriver
      @TheAirplaneDriver 6 месяцев назад

      The battery has nothing at all to do with keeping any airplane engine running. 140’s were all produced with generators, not alternators. A generator kicks on at about 1400 RPM. Below that, it does not recharge the battery. An alternator in a 140 or any airplane (many 140’s were upgraded to alternators over the past 78 years) provides charge to the batttery at much lower RPM. That is one of the principal advantages of an alternator to a generator, though a generator does have some advantages to an alternator.
      In any event, any airplane will run just fine without a battery. Spark is created by magnetos. The 12V battery provides power to the avionics and starter. Without a starter, or if you have a dead battery, you hand prop the airplane.
