This is how aviation videos should be. It has always made me wonder why anyone who fly's puts music in the video when the sound of flight is just remarkable. Thank you.
My dad used to love to hunt at Heckman. They would rent the forest service cabin and fly in. Later they lived further down the Naha at Orton Ranch. I need to get back for a visit.
Man, this was so relaxing for me! As a tourist who frequents the USA a lot I would rather know these small towns and their people, have dinner at a seaside restaurant or enjoy the forests and the wilderness than visiting The Big Cites. Reminds me of my childhood flying cessnas with Dad (:
@@TheMikeification for the 40th anniversary of msfs, asobo bought a few planes from addon creators that were intended to be payware and released them all for free. i think the beaver is the one from misviz, and the dc3 is the one from aeroplane heaven... and more, 40th anniversary is a pretty good update if you like classic planes!
Dang, that one lake has more trees around it than I've seen in my entire life! What an absolutely _gorgeous_ area of the world! And, what an absolutely _gorgeous_ aircraft to travel in!!
100% Ketchikan and Seawind. I believe the pilot is Steve Kamm or one of his relatives. Maybe point baker? All I can tell you is it's not Port Protection because I've flown between there and Ketchikan. They have many destinations.
Looks like flying into Ketchikan. I used to load air freight for Coastal/Tyee air back in the '70s and flew on some runs as well. De Haviland Beaver is a great plane!
The transition from Earth to Heaven and Heaven to Earth were joyous, however I couldn't tell when that actually happened. This video has inspired me to become a much better pilot. Thank you! 🙂
what an awesome moment ! I've apreciate every second of that vid ! big thanks ! and ,this bauty look like new ! can't believe she's from another age. superb machine and well configured
It belongs to a company named SeaWind Aviation out of Ketchikan, Alaska. Pilot appears to be Steve Kamm, the owner. This is a chartered, air taxi, or sightseeing flight, which is likely why it is so maintained.
Like Canada I imagine there are many settlements in Alaska that rely on float planes with a decent cargo lifting ability for their very existence. On tick over the R-985 sounds like an overgrown Harley
Okay. I give up. What is the make of the PFD / MFD electronic instruments right in front of the pilot? I've been trying to find anything that look similar online. Intrigued.
Marvellous, though I would have liked it even more without the post-production flashing gimmicks and framing to make it look like an old film - it doesn't work and is just annoying. Well done for not adding music though.
I’m sure he knows his surroundings better than I, but seemed from video at least, he was a bit short on altitude in a few areas, but I have to say he’s flying a beaver in the back country, for money, I pay to fly a Cherokee around the traffic pattern.. so I’m sure he is most likely much higher than it looks, clean plane, great pilot , and the absolute best back country flying in the world..
Thanks! good scenatio for MSFS. The clouds still need to be worked on, they look a bit unnatural. And I would change the rain. Otherwise, everything is almost like in reality!
Thanks for not putting any dumb music in this amazing video. The Beaver's sounds are music to my ears!
100% Thank you for watching

Damn, whoever maintains that aircraft has done a great job. One of the cleanest DHC2 cockpits I have seen.
Yes, looks really nice
No dust on the water is a real pie.
Yeah, that one screw in the cowling would make my ocd crazy..
Triggered mine 😂
I liked that last bit, where the aircraft went up that tilt ramp. And what a beautifully maintained classic it is.

Awsome place
Thanks for the pure sound with no background music!

Great video. With the recent release of the new DHC2 Beaver in MSFS, this vid will get many more views.
Welp time to get my wallet out again for another MSFS 2020 plane. At least the virtual 100LL is a lot cheaper. xD

Hi Peter! Great vid with beautiful scenery. Can you tell us where you took off and landed please?
Not sure where he took off from, but it looks like at 16:28 he is landing in Ketchikan...
This is out to Misty Fjords I believe, but yes it is out in Ketchikan, and the operator is Sea Wind Aviation!

Good video. Only it would have been nice to have a close-up at the end where the aircraft comes up out of the water.
Close up with gopro simply impossible

Thanks for the treat....I've always wondered!
Man! What's not to love. A P&W 985 behind a three bladed prop bolted to a beautiful DHC2 Beaver.
