You’re thinking in 2022 terms, not small town, 1992 terms. Also, do the math. If George was around 40, that means he was born around 1952. The Baby Boomer generation is from 1945-1964. Baby Boomers have a different attitude about being replaced.
When Mary was vacuuming and George came in door and Mary said to George you home and George say I quit my job and Mary said what why i like the way how she was talking to George when he said he quit his job
From a story standpoint, the writers have been making George less likable (IMO) over the past year. which I think is a sign that they are going to eliminate his character soon. Playing highschool baseball I saw a couple coaches come and go especially good ones bc of parents. Their kids weren’t getting enough playing time or something like that and they would dig up any dirt they could find. Lost a really good coach who started a player on varsity who shouldn’t have even played and his parents were leading the charge. I could never deal with the politics that go into that.
The only thing that bothered me from George's quitting the team is that he didn't address the players at all. Just left. Also Wayne had every right to take a promotion. Mary is the least likeable character on this show, and Pastor Jeff is a terrible person.
yeah, who could have thought going into a show knowing that one of the main characters was destined to die soon that there could be any drama... I always assumed that they would have him slip on a banana peel. You know, something funny.
I think it's getting even more exciting. I actually like this show better than The Big Bang Theory. At 1st, that series stood out but then it started being like other sitcoms with the relationships & drama (my 1 Great Uncle even stopped watching the show once everyone got girlfriends). Don't get me wrong, I still enjoyed it, but I just didn't enjoy it as much later on, but I will admit that season 12 was incredibly done. I'm just waiting to see how much of what Sheldon says about his family & such in The Big Bang Theory is actually true, so I guess a little fact or crap thing.
Ya but most times their familys showed on big bang theory it had some drama. Like when Leonard met Sheldon's brother. Or penny met Leonard mother. Raj dad tired of giving him money.
While I can understand the desire to quit like that, it wasn't a good decision. It's easier to find another job when you already have one, and even if they let George go he could have likely collected some unemployment while job searching.

My favorite part of the episode is when Sheldon finally chooses the same fashion style he wears on the Big Bang Theory! Also here are some of my predictions for season 6: 1) Since the family already lived paycheck to paycheck well before the mom and dad lost their jobs, they will have to sell something in order to bail out Georgie and MeeMaw from jail. In the Big Bang Theory, it appears that Mary still lives in that exact same house, so I think they will sell George's car. Mary's car has five seats and they need at least four. George's truck only has three seats, which makes it an impractical family car. George can also use his old motorcycle instead of the car. 2) Mandy breaks up with Georgie. If she even gave him a tiny bit of chance before, it is completely gone now. He got arrested, and if Mandy finds out about that, which she probably will, she will immediately think of him as a very unstable, high school drop out who is also 17 years old. The fact that Georgie is only 17 years old is bad enough, but add a criminal record to that, and Mandy is probably done! 3) Brenda fires Mary. Mary guilted her into hiring her. After a ton of very awkward and uncomfortable moments, I think Brenda will fire Mary, especially due Brenda having feelings for George. 4) Mary confesses her feelings for pastor Rob. Perhaps Mary cheats on George first, and only then does George cheat with Brenda 5) George finally gets the idea for his tire business.
@@peanutbutterbruv and since he got arrested with Mee Maw and her and Mandy are getting closer and closer she will probably take the blame for it. Basically tell Mandy he was only doing this to try and make money for her and the baby.

The school less so. This has nothing to do with George Jr. You can argue that he is being judged unfairly but at this point, it is just a matter of poor timing.
It happens more often than you think in small religious towns
Seeing how bad the thing now for them, you cant imagine how much effort dan sacrifice Georgie need to make a better life for them. Rich businessman with noble prize winner baby brother. He deserve all respect.
I think seeing his father head down this path is what motivated him to succeed. He saw both the struggles of his father working hard to support them but also an attitude that he doesn't give up. It's a good thing we know the story ends well for them years down the road because you can tell the last season is going to be full of gut punches.
imagine thinking changing the coach will make a diffrence when its a small town with a bunch of kids that arent good at football
Poor George you really felt for him as he has worked so hard providing for his family and turning down job offers because of his wife to stay where they are and now they are worse off then ever you could tell he was literally in tears and does not want to hear Mary saying I've been praying as he's right he does not need to hear it.
3:02 If they need money to cover the mortgage that badly then surely Meemaw can spare some, I know George hates the idea of her giving them money but unless he wants his family to be homeless then he should just shut up and let her help if possible.
That awful old lady treats george like crap despite her daughter is worse.
She never call mary on her religious crap.
Only george.
Yeah it's either that or lose the house and have to move in with her.
Personally I probably would’ve kept working there, because even though you know you’re getting fired you’re at least getting a paycheck and you can job search while still having an income. And then their severance pay. But since he quit there’s nothing.
Ditto, although admittedly knowing that I was getting fired soon would probably make me do an extremely half assed job. Like about a quarter ass.
Not true in fact if he did what you suggested he would be in jail
@@MichaelTerndrup how?
Schools don't have severance pay
You’re thinking in 2022 terms, not small town, 1992 terms. Also, do the math. If George was around 40, that means he was born around 1952. The Baby Boomer generation is from 1945-1964. Baby Boomers have a different attitude about being replaced.
When Mary was vacuuming and George came in door and Mary said to George you home and George say I quit my job and Mary said what why i like the way how she was talking to George when he said he quit his job
From a story standpoint, the writers have been making George less likable (IMO) over the past year. which I think is a sign that they are going to eliminate his character soon. I can't remember what Sheldon said about his father in "The Big Bang Theory" (fatal heart attack)? I'm sure some of the commenters here probably remember) which will most likely be the vehicle for George's eventual exit.
George dies of a heart attack. And he cheated on Mary.
@@therealmistahjay He didn't cheat on Mary. That was Mary dressed up in a costume when they were fooling around and Sheldon thought it was another woman.
Good to see Butch survived the gunshot from penguin and now is a mechanic who screws people over. Some things never change, sad Tabitha is dead though.
George could have had that college job, but Mary is crazy
I remember when Pastor Jeff’s wife left him and Mary was a friend he needed she didn’t turn her back on him she invited him for dinner he spent the night, she planned the wedding. But when Mary needed Pastor Jeff he turned his back on her and fired her. Where was Pastor Jeff when Mary needed him ? Lost respect for him!! I feel sorry for George and the they treated him I was he would have stayed he would be getting paid while he was looking for work.
Love how the song started the same time the scene started 😂
Prayers and thoughts. Subtle shot I like it
Playing highschool baseball I saw a couple coaches come and go especially good ones bc of parents.
Marry praying then trying to Get another job was the Best thing. Thats what a true believer should do.
Becoming quite a drama show
yeah, who could have thought going into a show knowing that one of the main characters was destined to die soon that there could be any drama...
@@Nicksolo85 did ur uncle watch tbbt again when raj lost his gf and bcom sad and lonely again?
@Ben Ouzgane "drama show" aka real life 🤷🏾♀️
Ya but most times their familys showed on big bang theory it had some drama. Like when Leonard met Sheldon's brother. Or penny met Leonard mother. Raj dad tired of giving him money.
The sad thing is, it's only going to get worse from here😭😭
They shouldn't have painted him like this, now I'm really attached to his character and I'd be devastated for the upcoming events 😃
Actually, he gets his job back.
Gimme three steps playing in the background 🥲
While I can understand the desire to quit like that, it wasn't a good decision. It's easier to find another job when you already have one, and even if they let George go he could have likely collected some unemployment while job searching.
A lot of highschool coaches honestly get the short end of the stick your success comes with the talent of players coming in schools can go years without having a winning record cause the kids coming just aren’t that good just the life of a highschool coach sometimes
I haven't seen the Big Bang theory and i also haven't seen any of the previous seasons, they just dint seem interesting. But this season is really good!
George Sr could have been coaching college ball to avoid all of this lol

Severance package? That's funny. He was a small town high school coach. He was getting notice, which is better than most people get. He's right, though. It's better to quit than to be fired. Especially in a rep driven job like that.

Really wish George punched Roy like Missy punched that kid. Dude’s trying to get him fired and he’s trying to calm the tension by being all buddy-buddy
I really wish he did also. He probably held himself back to avoid the issue from becoming a police matter.
Well, coaches live and die by their win-loss records and George was not winning. So, he really should not be surprised by getting fired.
This show has been making me depressed this last season and a half.
I have a feeling George dies because of his drinking beer .I notice in the seasons he starts drinking more and more.once in a while is fine but not all the time almost every scene he is drinking alcohol 🍺it could be because of stress .
Eh, it's not just the Beer, remember he had a Heart Attack back in Season 1 when things weren't nearly as bad. It's a combination of excessive drinking, eating, stress, depression and possibly overworking himself to try and keep the family afloat.
@@thefanwithoutaface8105 that too
That one guy could have handled trying to patch things up with George much better, but sometimes, people have such need to be proven right in a given situation that they might pour gas on the fire and escalate an already tense situation all because they just can't let their point go. Sure, everyone knows George didn't have a good winning record, but does he really need to point it out right then and there while the guy is already drinking to forget about that for the evening? Just be like "yeah, okay sure" and go along with it. Even granting that he doesn't know about everything else George is dealing with, that was still just plain petty of him. Poor George.
@Christopher Bingham In fairness, he was the only one there.
@Christopher Bingham nah screw that guy. It’s HIGHSCHOOL football. A man’s job is way more important than reliving your only glory through your kids

George needs to remember the first person that goes when the team loses alot is the coach...... he was being overly upset at Wayne

Wyane did betrayed him
What's the asst. coach name Wayne? He is stuck between a rock and a hard place he doesn't want to hurt George but has to do what's best for him and his wife. Hey it's Butch from Gotham
The comment about Sheldon saying he visits the Genius Bar is kinda off since in the show he makes fun of the word genius from Apple
He went there to laugh at the employees, probably.
He went to bars frequently in TBBT too with Leonard and/or Penny.

Mary’s lost her job at the church and people everywhere are looking down on and talking down about the Cooper family all because Georgie got Mandy pregnant.
Not to mention, Georgie and Meemaw got arrested at the end of this episode and pretty soon Georgie’s going to step up, take responsibility and care of everything and become a successful tyre businessman. I’m finding it harder to believe all of that now.

How in the Hell is she to blame for all this? George was the one who didn't use protection. The church and school were the selfish A-holes who turned their backs on the family. But no; everything is all due to one decision that made perfect sense at the time.
@@siobhannoble8545 If George had taken that job, they'd have moved to Oaklahoma, thus would've been far away from the town and by extension the girl Georgie got pregnant in the first place, meaning he wouldn't have met her and by extension gotten her pregnant in the first place. That was a dumb move, usually you get a generous severance package if you’re made redundant, quitting means you’re denying yourself that extra pay.
What world are you living in? Maybe corporate executives get severance packages, but working class people get nothing.

I don't get why a high school has a dedicated football coach. Our football coach also taught English. *All* of our coaches taught classes.
My favorite part of the episode is when Sheldon finally chooses the same fashion style he wears on the Big Bang Theory! Also here are some of my predictions for season 6:
1) Since the family already lived paycheck to paycheck well before the mom and dad lost their jobs, they will have to sell something in order to bail out Georgie and MeeMaw from jail.
Perhaps Mary cheats on George first, and only then does George cheat with Brenda
5) George finally gets the idea for his tire business.
I think you are spot on except for point 2. Sheldon talked about Georgie's 'disasterous first marriage' in TBBT. That is probably Mandy.
It will be a couple episodes before Mandy finds out about the border. Emily Osment is a series regular for season 6
@@peanutbutterbruv and since he got arrested with Mee Maw and her and Mandy are getting closer and closer she will probably take the blame for it. Basically tell Mandy he was only doing this to try and make money for her and the baby.
George should have said--"fuck you, Mary, we are moving to the better-paying job".
@@peanutbutterbruv That could have been nothing but a disastrous marriage. She did not love Georgie. They only married because of the baby.

I wouldn't go that far. After so many dark drama-filled episodes I think the writers wanted to end the season on a comedic note.
@Christopher Bingham A lot of those aren’t cliffhangers… just foreshadowed events
This guy Roy was a real jerk, every single time he trashed George, too bad George didn't hit him, like he did with Veronica's father
This is why I hate to say that Texas when it comes to Football. They act like they are factories for producing college players and yet maybe 1 or 2 every once in a while will go off to college. They take it way too seriously it's only high school not college or pro.
For me, the strange thing is how they go all into high school football. High school football, c'mon man. Who follows high school football?
I'm least interested in Sheldon's POV right now!
MAKES YOU WONDER who Sheldon's Real Biological Father. I think Sheldon's mom cheated in the past. The only thing that makes sense.
I’ve got a theory that Georgie isn’t George’s son.
flashbang warning?
Is high school football coach a full time job in Texas, or is he also a gym teacher?
And I've just noticed - how does older Sheldon comment on things he can know nothing about, like what goes on between Mary and George, or what happens in the bar? Its like Saving Private Ryan cannot be the memories of Ryan, when he was nowhere near Omaha Beach.
