This show is still my favorite series. Young Sheldon is starting to take shape and define the family in steady incremants. George senior is far more amiable than some of the stories Sheldon told. But both shows point out where the tyrannies in families develop. My mom was the worse but not for catering to the needs of Sheldon but in her need to destroy the evidence of her infidelity.
Leonard: "What About The Time You Throw Away His Halloween Costume" Georgie: "Well Yeah Because He Was Going To Dress Some Girl Scientist" Leonard: "Madame Curie" Georgie: "Oh I Didn't Know She Was Madame." & Myself LMAO "Wow." 🤣🤣🤣🤣
I totally related to George. When your the oldest sibling you're seemingly expected to just do stuff for your younger siblings without question. Or at least I was.
When I was three, I could get my own water with the aid of a footstool. My little brother was so undersized for his age, he couldn't do this until he was nearly six. So myself and my older sisters were expected to get things for him. But he got into the habit of treating us like servants and refused to do anything for himself and the three of us would get told off for being 'selfish' if we didn't do things for him. Or more accurately, caused him to throw a tantrum and make them acknowledge they had children which they really resented. We had to take care of ourselves.
1:11 To be fair that was in the 80s and cross-dressing wasn’t as Accepted back then as it is today, so Georgie DID save Sheldon from that kind of bullying.
After watching Young Sheldon, every time I see the "old" cast from TBBT I get mesmerized with a flawless casting. Way to go, Chuck Lore and Jim Parsons!
A lot of ignorant and stupid comments here, smh. First - Sheldon was thankful & grateful. He literally apologized and thanked Leonard in season 8, for everything, for ' putting up with him', he also did the same during his Nobel speech. Sheldon also showed his gratitude numerous times throughout the series, just in his own way. He also made up with Georgie in this very episode, the episode this clip here is from. There wasn't any big conflict between them. From everything that was said in this episode, it turned out that they simply hadn't talked for 10 years, because they naturally drifted from each other, they lived far away from each other, in different states, and everyone took care of their own affairs, this is what often happens in families in real life too. Besides, Georgie says in this episode in another scene that they 'protected' Sheldon and that's why they didn't tell him anything about what was going on in the house, that it was bad, so it's not Sheldon's fault that they 'protected' him and didn't tell him anything. Anyway, people clearly still don't get what The Big Bang Theory was really about. It's the story focused on Sheldon, and Sheldon being the unusual human, the modern Rain Man. He is a child genius who grew up to be an adult genius when it comes to high, academic knowledge but is socially and emotionally disabled. Just like in one scene, where Sheldon is in the casino to win money for some science project: he is a genius enough to use his high IQ and math knowledge to beat the system at the casino, but he is socially oblivious to the fact that you don't tell this to the casino security. Sheldon is still like a child savant: genius, but totally naive and innocent in many aspects, exactly like children. That's the essence of the show and the main source of the comedy on the show. The Big Bang Theory is essentially the new version of Rain Man. I saw many fans also misinterpret what Chuck Lorre said once about Sheldon 'not being autistic' - this is not true. What Lorre said was, that they didn't want to diagnose Sheldon specifically on the show, meaning, they didn't want to say what type of autism Sheldon has exactly, like Asperger, etc, but in general, everyone knows that he has some type of autism.
1:23 Only woman who has been awarded with two nobel prizes (and there are only 5 people in total who are double Nobel winners) and only person who got it from two different scientific fields. Some might argue that Linus Pauling is the other but "Peace" isn't exactly science.
OK ... here's the thing with Sheldon ... most of the people that really know him well ... just get fed up with his crap. They don't hate Sheldon - they just don't want to be bothered with him any more. If it weren't for Leonard - Sheldon wouldn't have any friends at all. All of Sheldon's friends - are really Leonard's friends who tolerate Sheldon for Leonard's sake. .
The reason every kid turned out great is because of an awesome father who always pushed his kids to pursue different paths that they actually liked....
I know it’s going to be dark but I hope we see the evolution of this anger and frustration toward Sheldon as Georgie is the one that is running the household in the spinoff
I still love where you can see Georgie notices that Leonard GETS IT. Changed his attitude towards Leonard because They both love and care for Sheldon in their own ways IN SPITE of Sheldon being who he is. One out of brotherly love, the other as Reluctant Best Friend.
Once you look closely, you'll hate sheldon. He is so obnoxious spoiled manchild. His mother makes him worse, as she cant value her other precious kids thats even far better than sheldon.
Wait.. the casting for Georgie’s adult character matching his character in young Sheldon.. backwards innit?.. They casted Young Georgie for “young Sheldon” & he fits this adult Georgie, 100%. Either way tbh, bravo

@@allanhoward352 wasn't he that overweight kid in Stand By Me (1986)?
I only watched some scenes, not the whole thing, I remember he was in Scream 2, Kangaroo Jack and Pirahna.
I can't believe he's actually married to Rebecca Romijn (Mystique from X-Men 2)
Yes
He is missing the heavy Texas drawl of young Georgie. That's good because I hated that heavy
Texas drawl.
I think georgie and leonard are the best thing that ever happened to sheldon. Both took care of his antique and manage to shield him from the worst.
Ironically out of all three kids georgie is the most financially successful and has more money then Sheldon, but Sheldon being arrogant only sees academic success as the only type of success.
Yeah he hasn't got a single shred of respect what so ever towards Howard. While he might be on the perverted side, like he said he's the only one of the 4 making any real world contributions to science, for 1 thing..........and of course lets not forget number 2 😂😂😂🤣🤣
I don’t know about that. Georgie just works at a tire shop.
@@SYDAirlineEnthusiast he owns a chain of tire stores all around Texas. Unless you are saying this ironically lol
@@SYDAirlineEnthusiastEven Sheldon, who hates giving credit to anyone, admits his brother sells more tires than anyone in Texas. Unless he’s absolutely terrible with money (unlikely considering how he grew his business over the years), he has to be pretty rich.
All we heard from Sheldon is that Georgie was a bad brother.....but sometimes, you need to hear the other side of the story
It's sad that georgie doesn't get as much recognition he deserves in both tbbt and young sheldon, he's always laughed at, yelled at, or made fun of mostly by his parents and sheldon
I guess I'll cry over this episode... I can totally relate to him.
Oh my god, he looks EXACTLY like the kid who plays his role in Young Sheldon!
I love this interaction. Georgie could be totally dismissive of leonard. As a nerd. As a short guy. For talking about something he doesn't understand (Georgie grew up with Sheldon, he knows him far better). But he talks to leonard as just another guy. Offers him a beer. He's just so genuine
George- "Leonard, you want a beer?"
Leonard- "Yeah! Would you open it for me?"
George- "It's a twist-off."
Leonard- "I know."
!!!
Leonard removing those red balloons is so funny lol. I can just picture Leonard doing that for Sheldon lol.
Everytime I watch this again, the line “do you need me to sit on your head” along with the facial expression never ceases to make me cackle. 😂
The "It's a twist off" "I know" at the end kills me, he's incapable of twisting a cap off XD
WHAAAATT?? Did she cheat ?!
Can you make sense?
wow he actually sounds like him in young sheldon
edit:also looks like him 😂
Lazy Plays Guitar The younger Georgie's accent is actually real tho as Jordan Montana is from Texas. Jerry O'Connell is acting in a Texan accent.
What's funny is that Jerry O'Connell plays Sheldon's older brother here, but he's actually younger than Jim Parsons in real life.
1:11 To be fair that was in the 80s and cross-dressing wasn’t as Accepted back then as it is today, so Georgie DID save Sheldon from that kind of bullying.
Not just 80s America, 80s TEXAS
Sheldon got book smarts.
Georgie got street smarts.
It was equally very funny and very sad that Leonard needed Georgie to open his twist-off beer.
All of Sheldon's friends - are really Leonard's friends who tolerate Sheldon for Leonard's sake.
.
Georgie always got the Connies touch in business...
Young Sheldon characters are so matching to the Big Bang Theory characters and I love that😍
The reason every kid turned out great is because of an awesome father who always pushed his kids to pursue different paths that they actually liked....
I can appreciate that the beer is a Shiner! A true TX brew, and smooth as hell 😏
Agreed, came here to say just that!
Okay.. NGL, I had a hearty full bellied laugh out loud at the "Twist off" joke.
I know it’s going to be dark but I hope we see the evolution of this anger and frustration toward Sheldon as Georgie is the one that is running the household in the spinoff
Georgie is the best character in this whole universe, he isn't a dumb nerd he hustle his way into fortune
I love that the beer Georgie hands him is Shiner Bock. Awesome detail work.
3:05 bro i almost peed laughing😂😂😂
I love how we finally know how he got to be in that job.
Taking over the family business from Mandy's family.
"It is pretty hilarious! 😂 " Lenard.
Georgie's reaction after Leonard couldn't open a twist-off 😄😄😄
“It’s easy when you love your product…and hate tony romo.” 🤣
Sheldon doesn't have to thank Leonard "in so many words;" Leonard has Leonard's Day & gets a card.
Hope george and Mandy spin-off doesn't go off script.
I still love where you can see Georgie notices that Leonard GETS IT. Changed his attitude towards Leonard because They both love and care for Sheldon in their own ways IN SPITE of Sheldon being who he is. One out of brotherly love, the other as Reluctant Best Friend.
Georgie's drinking the Shiner Bock.
The photo in George's office of the girl with the tire🤣🤣
Once you look closely, you'll hate sheldon. He is so obnoxious spoiled manchild. His mother makes him worse, as she cant value her other precious kids thats even far better than sheldon.
Well Missy and Georgie aren't saints since they barely appreciated their father whereas Sheldon did.
I cant get my head around how sheldon still has second thought on choosing leonard as best man and made a scoring board of his friends instead
I just love George Cooper Jr. He's been than awesome with him turning his life around for the best. Wow!
When leonard asked georgie to opened up his beer, I wasn't sure to laugh or to cry, like, really ,you have no upper body strenght?
As a Texan I know how hard it is to hear a grown ass man ask you to open a bottle of Shiner for them.
“Do you know what he never said?”
“Danke schoen?”
“What?”
“That means thank you in German”
“…”
“Do you need me to sit on your head?”
😂😂😂😂
Most Sheldon posture ever 0:57
All I can say is what a well acted scene. Johnny Galecky especially is a wonderful comedic actor.
He sounded so much like Sheldon at 0:52.
He really looks like his younger version on Young Sheldon.
Now that I think about it, I kinda do want an episode where George sits on Sheldon’s head when Sheldon is watching Star Trek.
The look on his face, when he said can you open this for me, oh no it’s twist off, I know but can you. 😂😂😂
"uuhhh that was very sheldon" most hurtful words have never been said
Watching this scene and watching young Sheldon, Montana Jordan has his mannerisms locked in dude.
Wait.. the casting for Georgie’s adult character matching his character in young Sheldon.. backwards innit?.. They casted Young Georgie for “young Sheldon” & he fits this adult Georgie, 100%. Either way tbh, bravo
Georgie is drinking Shiner Bock. Now that’s a real Texas Beer.
0:15 I'm a Giants fan but i got to admit Romo is the Best Quarterback Dallas has had in a long time
The only real quarterback for the Cowboys was Dandy Don Merideth
Had had* he retired years ago so can't use the present perfect
Leonard has no idea he probably just connected with Georgie on a level no one outside his family ever has
I always wondered what would have happened if Georgie and Zach met 🤣🤣🤣
I love that the did Young Sheldon. Now when Sheldon or his siblings talk, I can totally see the kid versions of themselves saying what they say 😂
Leonard should be in awe that he's having a conversation with superman
What’s also good about this scene is Leonard got to have a typical guy moment at the end which he loves.
