I think they're really setting everything up to be tied into Big Bang. My guess is during the season finale Sheldon will come home from college and find George in bed with Brenda. Exactly the same way he told the story to Penny

The cooper family is a great example for a family that should have switched their roles. George in charge of parenting would have made a big impact on sheldon.
I'm an episode of tbbt (the one where Howard and Bernadette get engaged) Sheldon says his parents marriage... gets bad when he is 12, and that his mother finds comfort by throwing herself into the church, and his father finds comfort from "a blonde bartender who tries to buy my love with action figures". Sheldon is 12 now, so I am guessing how it plays out: after losing this job George is unable to find a new coaching job and has to take some low paying cashier job he hates (he is a cashier in one of Sheldon's memories) Marry becomes the main bread winner, but has to take more hours/shifts at the church. Since Memaw and Georgie are both always busy with the "laundry matt" the Coopers maybe end up hiring Brenda to pick Sheldon and Missy up from school and stay with them until George gets home....Brenda regularly at the Coopers house with a George while Marry is away at work does not equal good things.
What are boosters going to do yeah they provide money for the team but they can’t buy better players they can’t recruit other players as it’s illegal. Sometimes the coach is the problem for the team but based on what George gave up to keep that job and (going off the video from tbbt that inspired Sheldon) he’s not a bad coach he tried to motivate his team to rally even if they were down.
Also it's important to remember that what Sheldon says on TBBT is from the perspective of a child, even one with an eiditic memory, and is still going to be somewhat different than what really happened.
This scene should break any hard working mans heart... You can see how defeated he feels and how hard it is to express.. If this scene didnt get to you as a man or any regular human.. You probably have no emotion...
Those boosters (if that’s what they call them), shouldn’t insult people like that. He really should tell them to give birth to faster and stronger children because they deserve a remark like that.
I blame Mary for this whole thing since George at this point is just doing a job he never wanted to do but did because sheldon and georgie were there however they’re not and because of Mary making George decline offers he’s stuck doing hs football

The " boosters". I'm well aware this is a ficticional sitcom. But....these people actually exist in middle class America where something akin to sport mentality is a reality. Football/ baseball/ basketball are the be all end all . In Canada it's hockey. Passive participation..... " I couldn't be a sports star...so I'll push my child to be what I couldn't achieve! ".
Wow... a rare tender moment between George and Mary. Hey-- how about they do a pre-Prequel to show the happy, in love with each other George and Mary. (He had to think about it a minute before returning her embrace. They could have been so happy... This show is so lifelike. 🏆
WOW it really shows you how different high school sports is here in Australia. Back when I was at high school back in the dark ages (the 70s) 😂🤣😂 as egotistical as my school was a teacher would never lose their job because a sports team lost a season.

Sheldon isn’t even 12 yet it’s too soon so maybe 3 more seasons I’d say
If Sheldon was 9 in season 1, then he was 10 in 2, 11 in 3, 12 in 4 and now 13 in 5.

At least he did with his football speech on Sheldon's tape. Got him out of his rut better than Sheldon speaking to himself would have.
