Joe have you considered gymnastic rings? Small piece of equipment that fits into any backpack, able to do all of those exercises you mentioned + added benefit of training stability and a whole new style of cool training
I'm surprised with some of the negative reviews. I was so impressed with the ruclips.net/user/postUgkxMwYg0MOXR4M-oGeyBsNSYe1aPOUoRH6D cage that I got the lat pulldown attachment that goes with it. It is equally outstanding. I don't have one complaint other than putting it together is a job. The instructions and packaging of the parts are very well designed and organized. Also, I stripped and damaged the pull down cable the first day, admitting it was my stupid fault, and they quickly replaced it at no charge. I'm 6'5, 280lbs and fit in the cage just fine. Glenn B
It’s not about what you have, it’s how you use it! If anything lockdown has made me more resourceful and creative with my training which has lead to greater progress 💪🏻 Obviously a gym is always superior but it’s all about working with what you have at your disposal

@@NikA-wr6px Legs really took a hit. Thank god they were a strong body part pre covid. Weighted split squats (backpack with heavy ass med books), jump squats and calf raises. Should be doing them like 3 times a week to somewhat make up for the lack of intensity, but it's reeeally boring compared to actual gym workouts. I have a friend who actually made good gainz with pistol squats and other callisthenics style leg exercises, while doing them consistently, so i believe it can be done
@@Andreas-qu9rz yeah man i made good gains with pistol squats and just maximum height jump squats so im using as much power as i can each squat but it gets really boring and tiring if you dont change things up
@Andreas-qu9rz for anyone reading this as I know the comments are old. Using the gymnastics rings for stability you can take sissy squats and pistol squats to complete failure. For hamstrings you can do ring hamstring curls. If you have something to lay on, you can do reverse hypers. Atg split squats and cossack squats are awesome leg exercises aswell. A kettlebell or a pair of dumbbells work well to add weight.
I see so many people complaining that home workouts ain’t the same as working out at the gym. They just aren’t dedicated and find an excuse for not working out. I never once had a gym membership yet I workout daily at home or at the park. Calisthenics is my go to. I bought a weight vest. Rubberbanditz, a pull up bar, and some weights and my workouts always hit so good. I lost 60lbs total the first time around. I’m on my second time leaning out and I lost 20lbs so far. I got another 15lbs to go in order to be fully toned out.

Crazy what all you can do with such limited resources... way to stay creative! It’d be easy to make excuses about missing lifts since gyms are closed, so it’s cool to see what all can be done with simple equipment :) Very motivating! Thanks for the video 😎
Brilliant stuff. I was quite lucky to already have had a decent amount of weights and an EZ bar to use them with, not to mention push up handles, before the Lockdown. I understand people who feel that home workouts arent the same, but Ive been loving what Ive been gettin on with since mid March. Ive a day for a body part like he gym, with my favourite tunes blasting out. It was fun improvising around and with the plates, and seeing that gyms here in Ireland arent opening till August- depending on how tings go - Im really happy cracking on with tings in my room. Even when gyms do open, I personally dont tink Id feel comfortable in them . Videos like this are extra motivation for me, so cheers man, for encouraging people to plow on.
I am the same mate - will see what the regulations are going to be like around gyms, but certainly won't just be wading in there as soon as they open without assessing it.
Just a tip for people who are looking for leg exercises: If you have a foam roller, try foam roller wall squats (you can add dumbbells if you have them or any other type of weight). They're a nice change instead of split squats and emulate normal squats way better in my opinion. Have been really liking them!
Hey Joe! You should look into getting a single leg squat stand or maybe an aerobic step. That way you can do front foot elevated split squats. SPlit squat stand also makes split squats a lot harder but more comfortable
This is similar to equipment I have. I can easily add more equipment, but I take pride in keeping equipment to a minimum. When you are dedicated to calisthenics, you don't need much.
June, 4, 2023: Wow man!... so many good ideas with attainable equipment. We get lost in the "home gym thing", and forget it is about the movements with applied resistance, form and repetitions. I've basically had similar equipment for so long, but have kept adding equipment that has occuppied a whole room in my place.
