Hey Liva, I just wanted to say I found your channel when I was about a year into studying Japanese and you inspired me to keep going as there have been massive stretches where I was unmotivated to study. I would just like to say thanks for all the content that you push out despite it being so broad I have enjoyed all your videos
Your channel is without a doubt my favorite these days. I found you through your Japanese videos and stayed for everything else.Thank you for all the awesome content!
Hello! I just wanted to say that you've been a big inspiration for my Japanese learning! I'm a month in on Duolingo (only plan on using it for the kana and some light practice) and have almost all the Hiragana completed and all the main Katakana are either almost or completely done. I love your content!
This is honestly one of the most passionate channels I've ever seen. This is really what I think RUclips should be more like, just passionate creators sharing what they want to share. I'm seeing all of these comments talking about how they are inspired by you, and honestly I can really understand why. Keep doing what you do man, these are great videos, and I can tell there is passion here. (Note: Your Japanese learning videos are great even though I don't ever plan to learn Japanese, I plan to learn other languages and have been looking for ways to do so as a hobby.).
It always sort of surprises me how ... similar my interests are with yours, from fitness/home gym stuff, japanese, drawing etc. Always a pleasure to watch these. That being said, I've recently been looking into cable pulley systems for my rack. It looks easy to DIY, but there are products available too, and for my purposes I think it would completely eliminate any need for me to go into a commercial gym. You also did say there's no reason for you to upgrade your rack, but some racks come with fully fitted functional trainers on them which looks awesome! It's hard to beat the value of DIYing the pulley system though. It's somewhere along the lines of 30 to 40 usd, def recommend checking it out :)
*Neanderthal finds out that average homo sapiens like the same stuff. AKA exercise, housing, languages, arts, etc. AKA fitness/home gym stuff, japanese, drawing etc.*
Have you ever considered making a series on getting into working out? I quite interested but I feel like there is too much stuff online to just pick a route when I know so little. If you would consider this Id greatly appreciate it. You make amazing videos and never thought Id be interested in lifting but your videos has made me at least consider it! Thanks for the great stuff Liva, hope you have a wonderful day
found you through the macos video, was also beginning to learning japanese, also interested in this content. you're my favorite youtuber atm, keep up the great work!
I just bought a barbell in 2020 with bumper plates. Deadlift and overhead press mixed with pull ups… homegyms are nice for when you wanna take long breaks in between sets. I like how I can sit or lay around and as soon as I feel a sudden urge to lift I can immediately get into while my motivation or energy level is peaking for whatever reason.
Hey man I know you usually hear about people being inspired to learn japanese by you, but for me it is studying medicine. your work ethic we get to witness every once in a while really ignites something in me to keep going even though i kinda lost motivation during the covid days. so thank you i guess
Hey Liva, about wanting a cable machine - I recommend checking Alex Leonidas videos (back specifically) cause he has a method of making a “cable machine” with his power rack. Can’t remember if it was a fancy pulley system or it was a really simple one. Either way it’s seems good and worth it enough be a staple in a home gym.
Very nice! I have a home gym now, entitled the 'Front Room of Flex'. Despite the strange looks I get using my squat rack, I prefer it to the commercial gym I used to go to.
8:06, might be nitpick but that should be 買ってよかった rather than 買った Great video! I am convinced that we are the same person lol, we have interest in the same things: ML, JP, Fitness, Draw A Box, I love your channel! I am currently only 17 so I can't get myself a home gym just yet, but still very interesting!
Oops, that's correct lol. I remember writing it like that but "correcting" it to the past form instead of te from lmao. And that's cool, does sound very similar haha.
Been going to a commercial gym for about a year and a half now and I've always liked the idea of having a home gym but def is a significant investment to make. I think it will most likely be something I do in the future after I finish uni for the sake of ease but I really appreciate the insight from this video bc now I have a better idea of the equipment and pricing. As usual great content.
I appreciate your narration style. As for rack you can buy materials and a welder for cheap and get exactly what you want. Plumbing pipes and brackets/fittings make for a good lego style components as well. I've got 3 bars that hinge out of the way in my hallway for different bodyweight exercises, best thing I did in my apartment.
Lol I recognized your voice and the shibs with the Japanese content you make, had to double take if this was the same channel! Very cool that you have some fitness content! 🔥
thanks for the videos, I am just like most of your viewers on a journey to learn more japanese, but enjoyed most of your other content as well. Seeing you slowly but surely progress and learn japanese and speak it to a certain extent kind of reassures us that the grind isn't for nothing and it is possible. I think that's where you motivate a lot of people : ) Just a fun thought: if you feel like starting to learn another language, maybe you can consider Turkish :P It's my "father"-tongue and I think it's a nice and fun language, plus it has certain similarities to japanese ;P
As someone who never visited a gym I'm also extremely happy about the investment. There are a lot of ways to even start things off without a power rack, e.g. I did Zercher Squats for legs and stuff like that. But ultimately it was quite cool to finally be able to do the "proper movements" while being completely safe. Are you still using the rings? Mine are just dangling around the rack nowadays because the joint impact was just too much :D.
I cannot stand public gyms anymore and I’m looking for home gym alternatives. I’ve seen some power racks that have a cable machine integrated in them, and you load it with your standard weight. There are also two cables in case you want to do things like cable fly. They cost about 150€ more if going with a no name brand. In Switzerland, the cheapest most trash gym membership is 700€ a year including the student discount, so it’s always worth… There are also adjustable kettlebells and dumbbells, they may be expensive but are also made to last so yeah Thanks for the vid, great infos!
Hey man, your videos on are awesome. Just out of curiosity, how do you find the time to do all these things (language learning, gym, tech, home renovation etc...)? How do you earn a living? Pursuing things that fascinate me sounds awesome, but having to work long hours in a job takes up so much time, that I barely have time for hobbies. I understand if these questions are too personal and you don't want to answer them. Anyway, keep up the good work!
I used to do all of them except the renovation stuff back when I worked a full time job as well, but not every day (except for language learning). Back then I used to go to the gym less times per week, between 1 to 3 times, and used the weekends for things like that too. That's also why my pace has been really slow for things like learning drawing, and even language learning for the first few years. At one point I asked if I could work less days per week, going down from 5 to 4, and eventually 3, until I eventually left. I only started YT once I had already left. Now I still do some tech work but with hours I choose myself, and I consider YT my job as well.
In Brazil the modern appartments usually have a gym area in the condo And I am talking about regular apartments, which most of us acquire or rent, not the luxury ones
I think the gym beinf at ny room gives me more motivation. I mean, the weights are right there, behinf you. Just start some podcast, audiobook or long youtube video and start training. It's the same reason why guitarrists tell beginners to let the guitar out the case all the time. If the guitar is there, staring at you, you're more likely to pick it up and practice.
The smell of rubber plates was really awful when I bought it, it took 1-2 years for the plates to decrease the smell, but the smell is still there. Why don't you just do the Zercher squat to put the barbell back when you fail at bench press? It is safer to stand on the ground than stand on the bench.
Dude! Tell me about it. I bought a drum kit awhile back and the period of time it took to gas off the toxic smell was horrendously long. Glad it's not still permeating your space!
Damn, at this point we might as well be the same person. I also got a homegym for the very same reason and I also started out with rings, during covid as well lol. Crazy that you got your rack for 180 though, mine was almost 3 times that and looks just like yours, without weight holders though :/ Regarding safety, I think it can definitely hold out more than 200kg. I saw a video once where someone dropped like a 300kg barbell on a super cheap amazon rack and there was like no damage done iirc, so yeah. Edit: Yo you saw the video too, damn
if you want cables for your home gym, imo you would probably be better off getting a loading pin and a pulley system, because weight stacks are expensive as shit, especially when you already have plates.

You're one of the last channels on youtube that I genuinely look forward to every new upload, so thanks for the consistently great content ❤
As a lazy person who would skip days all the time: home gym is what did it for me - was just so easy to get to

I followed you 2 years ago from learning JP and now I’m N2 and staying for the content. ❤

This video genuinely made me laugh over the story! Wonderful video!

I'm subscribing for the sole reason that I hope to see more keyboard content. I know you are out of the hobby but I loved hearing your input.
I enjoy watching your clips, keep up the great work

The visuals of the doge pulling weights through the snow are absolute GOLD 😭
always uploading while I am studying W

I very rarely use them now, but occasionally for dips I still do!

the weight smell would be a total banger for a truth or dare game. "i pick dare!" *"smell the weights."*

I jast today thought I did not seen this chanel for a while
got the rack adn just put some electircla tape around the hole or the rails and fixed my problem there
It would be cool to see a vid on calisthentics.

Чувак, ты реально крут 🦾
Nice, do you happen to have the links to the equipment you bought?
Sadly I don't, though they were from Estonia stores anyway so it probably wouldn't be very helpful
All good man, thanks though

Even though you just uploaded this (VERY COOL) video, you're still gonna give us the 5 year Japanese update, right ? :3
Yeah, most likely the next video!
Cool!
What about neighbours, do you ever get noise complaints?
if you want cables for your home gym, imo you would probably be better off getting a loading pin and a pulley system, because weight stacks are expensive as shit, especially when you already have plates.
If u add a cheap cable machine tjat would be godly
Liva is actually jacked
damn nobody told me that Livakivi had a dump truck
now i want an abandoned store
assuming u moved the gym there? idk
i want a home gym but have no space (┬┬﹏┬┬)
can't you just get some clips to reduce the slouching of the weights?
How’s it going (:
hi liva!

editing very cool but more cat please
Did you adopt the cat ?
Sadly not lol, but I interact with him daily.
One of these days I am going to buy a smith machine to use at home
