Finally some one that also agrees that working out at home saves you so much time! People will always say that they can't get the right motivation at home to do it which I really don't understand because if am able to do it with no stress. You don't have to wait for someone to finish their reps to use the machine, you have all the stuff that you might need near you since you are at home protein/creatine/ supplements, it's so much better.

The "best" setup to me would be a crossover with all sorts of accessories (including a bench) and that's it. You can do it all with it and it adds tension to the whole movement, no matter the exercise. The "budget" setup would be an adjustable set of dumbells and an adjustable bench. You also can train everything with them. Both can take you to your limit with every muscle group. Like, if you do pushups, there will be a point where you have to change the variation to keep increasing the challenge. With a crossover or adjustable dumbells, you don't have that problem. If you're a natural, you're never gonna lift more than the weight they offer. Unless you are an ego lifter or wants to go insane with specific exercises.

The rings are really all you need. I'd pair those with a barbell and you're set. For more unilateral and rotation based exercises you can also throw a kettlebell in there. And trying some cooler stuff on rings like front and back levers, iron cross etc. can build your upper body closer to that gymnast look. You can use bands tied to the rings in the beginning and progress from there.

    • @PeteOnPurpose

@@PeteOnPurpose definitely, that's why barbell is a close 2nd, but I have to say, if you want to get good at rings it helps to not have powerlifter legs. Train legs unilaterally with explosive movements and you should be good, and that you can definitely do with rings (hold on for balance and you'll unlock a whole array of single leg squat variations).

Great advice, however the style of pull-up bar can fail due to improper installation, structural weakness or the door frame. When that happens people can seriously injure their spine or head which can ruin your life. There are roomier and way more secure designs I would recommend unless you really ran out of space.

To be honest that pull up bar stood the test of time, I have used it for over two years and even hang rings off it and never have a problem. Well the one problem is it does scuff the paint on the inner door wall but its never fallen off once. I believe it can hold upto 120kg.

For warmup i find my exercise bike to be the best i have tried for actually getting warm and sweaty, and my hydraulic rower is good for getting the upper body muscles going a bit before other exercises.
Just ordered the Abilica "DoorGym Advanced" pullup bar, and some 7, 10, and 15kg dumbbells, so once i get a sit up bench, i think maybe i have enough to maintain some reasonable physical health. Couldnt care less about getting "ripped" tbh... That stuff is for bimbo boys if you ask me 😅

@@rarvinmobin670 You can often use the same equipment to train for muscle mass, strength, or endurance, and depending on how you do your workout, you dont actually have to build a lot of muscle to gain strength. Im too lazy to build muscle, but both my strength and endurance increased pretty quickly in the beginning.
After getting the doorgym, i quickly invested in a proper "power tower". After a few months of doing pullups, dips, and captains chair exercise, i definitely feel a lot more "fit" 👍
Pullups is not the most suited for endurance, but it still helps with endurance when you can suddenly do over 10 pullups instead of the 3 you started doing...
As i usually dont have the patience for endurance training, having a pullup tower where i can do some quick pullups and dips will at least give me some exercise with minimal time and effort invested in it... And any form of exercise is good for health, as long as one does not push oneself to the extremes.

On lazy days/weeks/months i usually try to do at least 2 such quick workout per day, from 3 to 5 days per week. When im more motivated, i have done full body workout sessions lasting up to 2,5 hours (usually 1,5 hours), which is more than what you need for achieving maximum health benefits.

The company that made them went out of buisness I think but if you type 'pull bar, no screws' into Amazon you should be able to find something similar.

Working out at home keeps you away from not only wasting time but also from healthy competition mode that you get into when you look at someone more jacked and fit than you. One has to be in both places. Home does NOT motivate you to that intensity always.
