He seemed scared to do so! He shows me his stomach stretches as a greeting sleeps on me yawns sleeps in the middle of the room kneads purrs grooms ! Im so proud of how far weve come!
I love animals better then people always did!!! I wasn't aware that your scent they can sense when you are sad or sick or happy!!! And people say animals have no feelings!!!
I know my cat trust me I started rescuing cats in my neighborhood about 12 years ago. The first cat I came across was mama cat that had 4 kittens. I found the kittens home. and before I could get the mama cat stage, she took off somewhere. I found her about three weeks later. and I started feeding her to gain her trust she would come around my garage and she would eat and then disappear about two months later I noticed she was eating all the food. At least I thought she was coming to find out. It was all the male cats in the area they were chasing her away and eating her food one morning I went to feed her and I found her laying in a corner of the garage. It wasn’t an enclosed garage was an old dilapidated garage that someone had built out of recycled, lumber, and old tin on the roof so I didn’t really use it and I wasn’t in there very often, but she had made herself a little corner and I realized she was pregnant about three weeks later. I noticed that it was getting cold so I took blankets and I put them in the corner for her two days later she had seven kittens. I was grateful that she stuck around, I couldn’t bring her inside because I had two cats of my own and I didn’t know what if any diseases she might have being a stray cat so I took care of her. I made a big box out of cardboard and brought out more blankets. I made sure she had food and water every day, and if the other cats tried to eat her food, I would stand there to chase them away while she ate knowing that she needed to feed her babies. I made sure she had enough food, I would also feed her again at night when I got home from work as the baby got older I started playing and petting her and the kittens and they started to get to know me I was able to take them to the vet and get them their first shots and then I called my daughter and I said I cannot find homes for these cats they are not welcome around here. There are so many stray cats people are not going to want them and I don’t want them to have the same life Their mother has. My daughter drove all the way from New York City down to Tennessee, scooped up all the kittens when they were six weeks old, took them home to New York and found loving homes for all of them. I took the mother and got her spayed and although I could not bring her in the house. I let her remain around my house and she became my friend And my pet I made sure the neighbors knew that she was mine and they did not bother her. The other cats continued to eat her food, but they did not try to chase her to mate with her anymore. She finally had peace and safety. She stayed around my house, never leaving or straying too far. she was my outdoor cat for many years after one of my indoor cats died. I told her one day you will live in the house and you will be very content. I promise it took many years for my other cat to pass away and it was time for me to move when I moved, I took my beautiful baby girl and I moved her into the house. She is the only cat in the house and she lives like a queen she is so grateful and so sweet. She absolutely adores being inside. I open the door and she looks outside and turns around and says nope not going out there anymore, she goes up and she lays on the bed upstairs and grooms herself in the morning. She comes downstairs has breakfast. I cut her fresh grass from the yard, and she gets playtime after she cleans herself, lays in the sun and plays. She never goes outside anymore and she loves being with me at night, sleeping next to me on the pillow every night
This video really captures the unique ways cats communicate trust! 😻 I’ve noticed that slow blinking is like a 'cat kiss,' and it’s such a sweet way they show affection. My cat also does the thing where she exposes her belly but doesn’t necessarily want it touched - it’s like she’s saying, ‘I trust you, but let’s not get too comfortable!’ 😂 Cats are so subtle with their signals, but once you learn them, it’s amazing to see how deeply they bond with us. This breakdown of behaviors is spot on!
Thanks for taking the time to comment and thanks for your kind words. This is what I love about cats. They leave subtle clues about how they are feeling; we, as owners, need to pick up on them. The slow blink is my absolute favorite, especially when they blink back :)) It is amazing!!
I read that showing tummy is a sign of trust and feeling safe, but is not an invitation to touch. I studied and watched my cat and did learn his signals - I felt like he was training me! We just lost our sweet orange boy and it helps to see comments from a person who really appreciates their kitty!
I have a number of rescues. One will moosh on my belly, then nip the tip of my nose. Also, he will lay belly up. As soon as I rub his belly, he will make some air biscuits.
My cat definitely portrays all these activities. She must be the most chilled out cat in my town. My favourite is the belly rubbing and the kneading. Good video by the way keep up the good work. 😊❤
My two boys greet me at the door every day when i get home. After the'big sniff' i get the stretch, then the headfirst flop and roll. On specail days i get a double, both at the same time! Then after its established that everyone's okay and all is well , life is back to normal. Cats cant speak, but they definitely have a language, and once you learn it they have a lot to say
My tortoise shell girl was 9 weeks old and apparently orphaned in the wild when my 16 y.o. fixed toms found her and adopted her in July '23. They spent their days teaching and protecting her and she gave them back love and affection. They actually tried to play with her in their own fuddy duddy ways. Sadly, one of the old guys passed away in September and the other two spent nights in grief curled up together. They are adjusting to the situation now and another young discarded cat has now moved in under my shed. They're are gradually warm up to him.
#14 Your cat wants to be close to you while you're on the toilet, or meow if the bathroom door is closed. They're saying "I'm protecting you" as you are vulnerable to bigger predators in their loving mind. :-)
1. They sniff you 2. They sit in loaf position 3. They stretch 4. They slow blink at you 5. They yawn in front of you 6. They gently nibble you 7. They expose their belly 8. They relax in the open 9. Their whiskers are in neutral position 10. Dawn wakeup calls (wish mine didn't feel so secure!) 11. They knead you 12. They rub your face on you 13. They groom you
The yawn, for other animals more than humans, carries a subtext. The primary message is- I am relaxed because I don't consider you a threat, you should be relaxed because I have no aggressive intent, but...by the way, look at the beautiful mouth of teeth I have.
Saw some stray cats ones and 1 off them did some off this things in this video like lying around on vacation it happen suprised the cat trusted me so fast
I often my hand to my cats even if it's only been a few minutes since they smelled it. Two of my cats will roll on my outside shoes after it take them off. My calico especially likes rolling on them.
A number 14, the tail hug. You are standing. Your cat comes to you and wraps her tail around your leg. Variation on #1: You come home and your cat obsesses over sniffing your hand. "You've been petting another cat. I can smell it on you. Here I am in my Tuxedo perfection and you petted (sniff sniff) a lowly tabby! We better be having chicken for dinner."
*Dear stranger reading this* . . 👇 *I just want to remind you that you're amazing, and I hope you have a beautiful life filled with happiness and love. Stay positive and keep smiling* ❤
My room is my space. But every morning my cat kids are right there waiting. They get their morning kiss and then I follow them down to the kitchen for breakfast. They know the words lunch and dinner and saunter into the kitchen on weekends or stampede in on weekdays. How they know the difference baffles me. Manny2 always stretches up to get his head scratch and neck rub before I fill his bowl. His sister waits patiently. Ladies first so she gets her bowl of food and water first.
At times I end up with premature wake up calls. Mine likes to sit on my arm in the middle of the night, and I will usually wake up when it starts hurting.
Also, cats are crepuscular - meaning active at dawn & dusk. This is when they hunt. We are diurnal-so we're on a different schedule. (They're not nocturnal)
Cats can just stare at you for a lengthy period of time without a blink to observe your mood and behavior. This usually means that you share a healthy and strong bond.
about yawning: any many time I show something new to my cat, a toy, some new activity, so on, it was finalized either yawning (=I see, safe, boring), or the cat sharpened claws (= it's interesting, lets play, I want it)
Get an older cat or kitten, they will brighten your life forever. Just leave the water and food out. Change the litter box every 7 days if needed or less or it’s a outside cat. Easy stuff.
What does it mean if your cat jumps off the cat stand onto your stomach? He thinks I'm a bouncy castle? My cat follows me everywhere & pushes against me at night.
As I watch, my boy is on my lap sleeping and his sister is in the cat bed next to the couch. Manny2 is the night shift lap lounger his sister morning and afternoon. My lap is small so once my cat kids grew up can’t fit on my lap together.
My cats are big kneaders. Money purrs softly. Her brother sounds like a loud generator as he kneads and purrs. He’s a bit heavy pawed about it. His sister is more gentle.
My cat finds it hard to loaf right now. She just got spayed a week ago and is still in the protective jacket. She has a hard time moving in in, the same with a harness.
Something I have never seen anyone suggest, but that occurred to me the other day. We know that a huge part of Feline communication is via scent. So what if, just maybe, them rubbibg up against you is not in fact marking you as property, but rather giving you the Cat Seal of Approval? To let other cats you come across know "Hey, this human is alright, you can trust this one". And the more stuff we do right, the more they stamp us? 😊
My boy falls asleep next to me or on the floor belly looking up. And my girl comes up for night cuddle and there’s her little belly. And every night and morning a kiss on the forehead. They’ve gotten that since they were kittens. My two will even let me rub their bellies. I do it rarely but they let me. My past cats nope.
My cat is a great one for exposing his belly, and he doesn't seem to mind when I give it a light rub. He also sleeps on his bag with his legs stuck up in the air. He's the only cat I've had, that does that.
Give him some yogurt for probiotic support. I had one with this problem The vet told me to give her some plain yogurt. It worked quickly and effectively. I never had to do it again after the first time. Try this it works.
You really need to check terms. The hip call the slow blink "squishy eyes." ;) I am really very unhip. I gave a tiger squishy eyes and it reciprocated. There is a belief Autistic people and cats have a special connection and does that extend to big cats? My mental health improved once I adopted a stray cat. The love they give even in the dead of night is a blessing.
I got a shelter cat whose background was unknown. I have had him 9 months now and he exhibits all these signs !!!!!!!!!!!! I am so lucky !
That is great :))
I adopted a 6 year old cat. It took almost a year for her to be completely comfortable with me. She actually lets me pet her belly now

Omg I didn’t know the term “loafing around” was a thing. I absolutely love when my cat tucks her little arms and legs underneath her it’s so cute.
Yes, isn't it the cutest thing :) It shows how content they are.
For the record, the primary reason cats loaf is to preserve body heat.
